    I just wanna be able to scream and belt without being afraid of my neighbours hearing me. It would be weird, since I live in a rather small community where everyone knows everyone, so yeah.

    It’s obvious Josh farro had a solid understanding of music theory, the guitar in these og paramore songs was always really clever. But it shouldn’t be understated the level of production that went into to making those full range chords sound good w distortion. That’s what makes the sound imo. Very carefully layered guitars w eq.

    This is a perfect example of what I try to explain about singing this genre. So in almost all guides it suggests singing with out tension and staying relaxed however I find it difficult to balance the two. This sounded so good you crushed it. But I can’t balance being relaxed and not tightening my throat and face trying to get the notes out.

    Great song choice and great vocal cover! I’ve always struggled with relaxing when recording clean vocals, so they always end up sounding a bit strained.

  • @Dougzed

    Honestly I can’t say for sure. There’s probably some self-consciousness there, and I think I push too much from my throat and not enough from the diaphragm. Any tips for changing where I push from? I always seem to tense my throat too much or something!

  • @Dougzed
    @Dougzed20 күн бұрын

    @@theodoresorrow without seeing and hearing you do it, it's hard to say. But you identified something which you are already aware of- it sounds like you're not applying enough pressure to your stomach muscles (diaphragm) when singing and this is causing your throat to tighten. Give that a try.

    I hope you enjoyed my cover of Thursday's Understanding In a Car Crash. I've loved this song and the band for many years but had never actually tried to sing this song until recently! I decided to make a quick cover for you this week, and it was really fun to do the singing, telling and screaming parts side-by-side. What a great song!
