Thank you so much for this, I recently suffered a mini stroke and found out I have two holes in my heart. Question can you suggest say breathing exercises?
@realfixesrealfast Жыл бұрын
Hello, A hole in my heart was one of the factors that caused my stroke. Breathing exercises have been a big help for me. I actually learned them in yoga class. I never did yoga before my stroke, didn't see the need. I'm not good at describing them, but you learn to be aware of and control your breathing. It really helps

Great work with yoga for stroke! I'm 7 months from stroke on the right. How do you get your arm straight ahead in front of your chest or straight over head. Would you recommend any exercises that worked for you?
@realfixesrealfast Жыл бұрын
I am now 6 years post-stroke. What I recommend is what I'm sure you have heard before. Use it, repeat, then use it again, after that, continue to use it. It was very slow for me and I could not straighten my arm for nearly two years. Now it is completely functional. Yes slower but functional. And it doesn't hurt to do it now either. WARNING. If you don't use it Atrophy will set in and that makes it harder. Just get used to it not working and one day it will. The topic at our local stroke support group this month is Atrophy.

@@realfixesrealfast use it how, if you have no arm function. you mean like stretching, hold a cup or a ball or something?
@strokewarrior5762 Жыл бұрын
@@kicknowledgesmith8608 yes stretching. when you cant use tour muscles Atrophy sets in and they tighten up. Stretching helps them recover.
