Next Level Gardening

Next Level Gardening

If you’re a beginning gardener or someone who has been growing food and flowers for years, I will help you take your gardening expertise to the next level and have fun doing it.

I've been gardening for 30 years, 10 of which I was mentored by a University of California Certified Master Gardener.

I don’t just love gardening, it is my passion and other than my family and friends, it is my life. I wake up thinking about it and go to sleep thinking about it. Sometimes it keeps me up at night thinking about new and better ways of growing organically.

Now, in my 30th year of gardening, I am going to use KZread to pass on the gift of inspiration and knowledge that I was freely given three decades ago by an amazing gardener who probably never knew just how important a role she played in my life.
I only hope I can help you discover what a life-changing past-time gardening can be.

Let’s GROW!

I have a cherry tomato plant that produces terrible tasting tomatoes. The plant is healthy. Is there any chance the tomatoes will taste better when there's more sunshine? This was a volunteer. I pulled the other volunteer that also produced terrible tasting tomatoes.

The elites are trying to shut down ALL small gardening. Check out what is happening in the state of Oregon by restricting water. Then, there is Pennsylvania 's attacks on the Amish. Bill Gates is one of the largest owner of farmland in the USA right now. Why? Does he have any experience in agriculture? Are you down with eating fake meat and bugs? They are using FEAR of pandemic of avian flu to crush backyard chickens. Wake up and say NO!

I've been using ES on my lawn this year. My DIY fertilizer is beer ammonia club soda baby shampoo and Epsom salt. My lawn is doing better this year than last. But I think I will skip the Epsom salt from now on.

I quit trying to grow yellow squash and zucchini because of squash borers killing my plants every year. Bu this year I bought new dirt, even a new raised bed this year and have planted some of both. This morning I laid a thick layer of DE around my baby squashes hoping to make it harder for any eggs to attach to my their stems. I just now ordered a row cover and some BT. I was wondering if it would be helpful to inject some BT into the plants after their stems are larger, as a preventative instead of waiting to find damage? Thank you for your very helpful videos.

I remember picking tomatoes off the vine of my mom's garden in the summer, under the sun. Just a knife, salt shaker, and a tomato that's still warm from the sun. I can't remember any food that's better than that. Very few life events are better than that, lol! ;)

There are many videos of snails ignoring copper tape. salt works but better to put on a mat so that it does not go into the soil. We have the Spanish slug in the UK which is double that of the native kind.

I planted a variety of peppers, including tomatillos, bell peppers, and some different types of hot peppers and in less than 24 hours most of the leaves had been eaten by a kind of beetle. I’ve never encountered that before, so I sprayed it with a dish soap solutionand of course it poured rain right after I did that so I’m sure it’s all washed away. Super frustrating.

I had master gardner tell me to mix powdered milk according to package instructions and pour it around the base of the plant every week. ❤ I was growing Amish paste, Hungarian Oxheart and German pink tomatoes. I had tomatoes after the 2nd frost in North Alabama! I had also mixed cotton gin waste into the soil. They were incredibly strong, hugh healthy plants!!

Horse troughs stainless or galvanized works excellent keeps the earth bonding connection , just one thing is drill every 6 inches with a 3/8 or so drill bit maybe bigger , but go around at the base adding drainage

Wood wise anything that touches or is in dirt you want to treat it with Linseed oil or a natural form of wood treatment because termites will attack it

I'm in central California and my garden soil (sandy soil) crusts over. I've been adding compost and manure for 48 years and still can't stop the soil from developing a water repelling crust. I have to always break up the ground before watering.
