Will and James

Will and James

After meeting in 2014, we knew it was love at first sight. Our very first trip together was to New York City where we learned very quickly, that if we travel together we can do anything. Our love has continued to grow and so has our sense of adventure leading us to places all over the world. We document our travels to share with others, hoping to inspire you to grab someone you love and travel the world. We competed on the 32nd season of The Amazing Race where we not only won the grand prize but got engaged at the finish line, the first gay/LGBT proposal in the show's 20-year history. Now we are married and looking to grow our family and continue traveling the world! Follow our adventures and see where life takes us.

We would love to hear from you! [email protected]

We've been watching the Race since the very first season, and this was our least favorite season of all. Boring! Other seasons were always very exciting. Maybe it was the editing, too. Never seeing teams fighting to get tickets on the earliest flight etc.. Challenges are usually fun to watch because many are quite difficult, frustrating, not to mention funny to watch, and these weren't this season. And yes, it's great to see kind teams, but in hindsight, the other seasons were fun because of the cutthroat competitiveness and some of the fighting between teams. The finale felt rushed and anticlimactic. Technically, cramming two eppys into one (from four teams to the three and then the finale). The same team won almost every leg, and surprisingly, that took the enjoyment out of the show because it was so predictable, and the edge of your seat feeling was completely absent. Hopefully, the next season will be exciting like the earlier seasons of the show.

There’s an added dimension for Queer teams holding a secret for so long. Very few of us didn’t experience some period of our lives keeping secrets about who we are, so I really feel for Will and James and Ricky and Cesar needing to keep the secret of their wins for such a long time.

Lacklustre challenges that were frequently unbalanced or only took five to fifteen minutes to complete, no equalisers, no bunching, no u-turns and limited countries & production errors made for less interesting legs, but some really great teams that I’d love to see again.

I feel like i would feel more in danger if i was constantly in first and Juan and Shane were right behind me, it's like in Mario kart if you're in first you will most likely get hit by a blue shell, this is no different they could lose their spot if they are not careful. also I'd be as sick of it as you if it was Juan and Shane getting first every time, but Ricky and Cesar are not the usual people, who get first so it's great to watch for me idk also in survivor or big brother if you feel too safe, that's when you get out or get targeted, so it's better Ricky and Cesar have the mindset of not being safe, to not get too comfortable with a spot they could lose.

I think someone in production screwed up and made the wrong choice and Danny and Angie paid for it. This show has been on for too long to make mistakes like this. I don’t think the “this hasn’t happened before” point excuses this. It was just such poor judgment and I know at the time there had to be crew there who knew this was the wrong decision. There were SO many better ways to handle this situation- to the point that having them wait for 1.5 hours doesn’t even make sense. In no way, shape, or form is it the team’s responsibility to make sure their crew stays with them. That’s ridiculous. It wasn’t a high-speed chase. The phrasing of “they lost their crew” is frustrating me because it seems like production is trying to put the blame and responsibility on Danny and Angie when we all know as long as your not driving crazy it’s the the person flowing you’s responsibility to keep up with you. Also, one of my biggest issues with this is that production didn’t do anything to rectify this poor decision. They could have let them stay and be on the bottom next leg or have a penalty.

  • @kayelle8005

Agree with Amy they should never have been put in that situation. Just got a car that fits the crew. Also agree with James, safety issue that puts a lot on tired racers, that are navigating and driving on the opposite side of the road. That’s a lot of mental bandwidth to take up in a high emotion situation. How the hell did it take the crew so long to catch up when they knew the destination? Basically it’s a travesty that they were penalised for production’s error.

Danny doesn't want to stop...so they go through the rotary over 3 times...the crew got sick of doing something that was rude. Danny and Angie....first, should have exited and found their way. Second...USE THE RADIO for communication ....they had a radio for a reason. Third...stop at first stop after rotary.... Eventually another crew filmed them at the challenge....they screwed up. Sorry it cost them the race.
