    Oh brother, I know i'm 2 years late on this video... We had a check-up on our old 2006 Chrysler 300 AWD Touring at our local tire shop today; they ran a test and said we just needed to replace our old cabin air filter. They wanted to charge us $70 to replace our old filter. But, we decided to buy our own filter and do it ourselves.... ha ha! The jokes on us....... there is no Cabin air filter housing! I sure they knew this... and would have called us later to say "it's gunna cost way more money". I think we will just clean out the blank space and vacuum really well and call it a day. 215,000 miles on this old gal and we've sunk a lot of cash into her ailing parts. Engine still strong, trans still strong. We have to put fuel injector cleaner in every other gas fill to keep all her throat/cats clean. Crazy how these 300's can just keep going and going. Fantastic video for those who have a lot health issues/asthma/allergies!

    If you change ignition barrel for a new one can the transponder ring work with the new barrel

  • @FixCarYourself
    @FixCarYourself9 күн бұрын

    I believe you can reuse your transponder ring and use a different ignition barrel, but you also need to make sure the key is the same. Any other people can confirm this?

    El enrrollador o muelle, posee un agujero en la tapa de plástico, allí se puede instalar un pin en un agujero del eje del muelle, este como seguro retenedor, la cual bloqueará el muelle en su posición, conservando su enrrollador con presión, este pin como seguro, no se debe retirar hasta cuando se arme de nuevo. Por lo que opino, que no es necesario desmontar la parte posterior, donde se encuentran los 2 resorte, por tener acceso total a los baleros. Aun que será el especialista, quien decida desarmarlo. Espero haber aportado a tan importante video. Dándole un 👍 me gusta.

    Actually the heat helps to work the crayon in better. Or you might be able to heat up the area and rub it back in even before using the crayon.

    Anyone know if the actual base is ripped off from a car wash? Cannot find any videos on this repair 🤔

  • @FixCarYourself
    @FixCarYourself19 күн бұрын

    Depends on the model and vehicle. The base is usually screwed and secured from the inside which means the headliner would have to be completely (or mostly) removed. Not a quick task unless you want to remove the headliner.

    In time it could, as rain gets in there and starts to corrode the area. At the minimum plug it up with something.

    I cleaned my ABS module in this manner for my '03 Ford F250 7.3L diesel and it did not work. What I did find is the contacts on the ABS Module were loose and that is not good. Sent my ABS module off to Module Masters and now I have a 5 year warranty and a working ABS system. Advance Auto and Auto Zone list a crappy recon at $428, I spent 1/2 that (including shipping) to get a real quality job done. Check them out.
