thanks
My pleasure! Hope the video helped you improve!
Thanks Mark for the suggestions. For me it was not a spacing or face issue, it was definitely a hand path issue. I will try the tee trick.
My pleasure Steve! Glad you figured it out and that was able to assist! All the best!
Nice to see a lefty giving instructions finally. I must say though, I spent my whole life automatically translating what a right hander says to do it left handed, now my brain is broken since I don't have to think backwards. Lol. Thanks for the lesson.
Hi Archer! I totally get it. I spent my whole life doing the same but wanted to stop the vicious cycle! Thank you for your kind words!
Wow, that was just amazing stuff. Would have never known
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the short.
I've been trying to game-plan my rounds more lately, and it just dawned on me that I really need to be familiar with my carry distances. This is the info I needed, thanks!
My pleasure! It’s amazing how many good golfers don’t know their carry distance. It’ll definitely help you shoot lower scores! All the best!
Really good advice Mark. Prior to watching this video I have actually been working on the Pro finish, and swinging easier. And they really work. I still struggle with getting a nice divot though. Especially with fairway woods.
Thank you for your comment Gerry! I'm glad you enjoyed the video! The PGA Tour finish and better rhythm will help you get the divot in front. Full transparency it should be more of a brush than a divot with fairway woods. Try this kzread.info/dash/bejne/e3pnvJKQntjalLQ.html Keep working hard!
I watched the video several times and then went to put the "reforms" in action. I had high hopes, but I guess I did it all wrong. My slice actually increased. Maybe my problem is different than this video tackles. I wonder what I should try next?
Hi Jeff (@jeffray6525)! Sorry to hear your slice didn't get better. There are certainly many ways to generate a slice ball flight. This video may help: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pHaOyNudm5yam6Q.html Also, here's a link if you're interested in some remote coaching with me: app.coachnow.io/i/bef1caebcb/5462. This would be a surefire way to eliminate the slice for good!
i play left handed my dominant hand is my right had so much advice on the role of my left hand, tucked in etc.
Hi Hugh! I’m also right handed but play left handed. I like to talk about both hands and give my students the choice on which way they want to do it. I’ve noticed the dominant hand isn’t always the one the student chooses! Thanks for your comment!
This video hit home for me. I do like to practice and playing the game beforehand on the practice range is a great idea. I will try it tomorrow. Thanks for the video. Question: Could use a video on the best way to hit out of a sand trap where the sand is pounded down from rain or lack of proper raking. ( my home course in Northern NY- links style course but difficult sand.). Hope all is well with you and the family as you head into summer. Bill
Thanks for your comment Bill! Glad you found this video helpful. Great idea! Stay tuned and I’ll get to it soon!
Finally a lefty instructor, please keep the videos coming.
Welcome to my channel Jordan! I’m presenting at a teaching symposium Thursday but will be shooting some content after. I teach in Naples, FL so just coming out of our busy season. Most of my videos I do in the summer. Soooo, that’s a long way to say STAY TUNED!!
Thank you, I will be trying this out soon!
My pleasure! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Hi Mark, being a fellow lefty, you videos have been really helpful, how do I find more information on your online membership that you talked about in your you tube video? Thank you
@scottcumpton-jz9xs Hi Scott! Thank you for your comment. I'm thrilled to hear you're enjoying my channel! Here is a link to my memberships kzread.info/dron/cCzl6wYDp-i-SfYNG0ia-A.htmljoin Please let me know if you have any other questions!
Beginning at 9:32, you contradict yourself. You initially say close the face first, but then you say grip first. Which is it?
I know, damn amateur videos 🤦🏼♂️😂. ALWAYS adjust the face BEFORE the grip. Thanks!
Shorter?
And wider. Replacing length of arc with width of arc. Improving sequencing for more output.
This was helpful - simple to understand. Look forward to trying it when I get home to my clubs.
Thanks Chris! I’m glad you enjoyed the video. I also appreciate your kind words. Best of luck!
Thank you! This helped me immensely. I tried all things - stance, club draw settings etc. Tilting and pulling my shoulder back instantly correct my path issues. I write right handed but am a lefty golfer. Have been frustrated with the lack of lefty lessons and guidance. Most online lessons are righty and say 'if you're lefty' just do the opposite. That sucks. You've done a great service to all left handed golfers trying to improve; appreciate you. I've subscribed. Keep the videos coming!
Thanks Jay! I’m also right handed but play lefty! Welcome to my channel and glad this video helped. I’ll have new videos soon. I teach in Florida so busy in the winter and shoot most my videos in the summer. Shooting some stuff for Golf Magazine too! Stay tuned!
Good review for me... as I wait to hit some balls at the range later today. Of course, I have your training aid but I don't hit like you do every time but I do some of the time. First time I have seen you start a video without your hat! BB
Hey Bill! Great to hear from you. Glad you’re getting some practice in! The review always helps. Talk soon!
Finally a left handed golfer giving tips!!! Subscribed!! Thanks a lot
My pleasure, Will! Welcome aboard.
Great video. After 30 years of trying to fix my constant slice and countless lessons and frustration. Your video fixed it. Cant believe it was this easy. Thank you!!
My pleasure! I’m glad the video helped. I’ve cured a lot of slices with the drill in that video!
Well done. I like the practical advice that seems easy to implement. I’ll try these tips!
Thanks Bonnie! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
mark have not been to florida for a few years had three back surgeries and still not good so i need to shorten my back swing and a more stronger full thru to get distance i, working i=on it i,m in michigan as you may recall we had some great times when i took lession from you and always had some jokes. i am happy your golf instruction business is growing dan mistura
Great to hear from you Dan! Yes, I enjoyed our time together on the lesson tee. Thank you for your kind words and see you down the road!
Spot on!
Thanks Rob! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Helpful with actionable things to work on/practice. The front facing view and the side view (split screen) that you show before hitting the ball not being sync'd up is surprisingly distracting lol.
Thanks @TxColter! I'm glad you found the content helpful and actionable! Yes, thankfully my teaching skills far surpass my editing skills! 🤣
Mark, Great tips, as always, particularly about the face of the hybrids. I'll let you know how it goes! Thanks!
Thanks Bob! Definitely keep me posted!
Definitely gonna try this tomorrow, thanks man!
My pleasure, Austin! Best of luck!
Can’t wait to try out these drills. I think I tend to roll back ankle/foot.
The drills will definitely help Gerry! I see the rolling foot a lot on my lesson tee.
Hi Mark - Great video. New to your site. Glad you’re a Lefty. What are your thoughts on weighted training clubs like the Momentus etc? Do you have any videos on Ball position? Thanks, Your 🇨🇦 Friend
Hi Leon! Thank you for your kind words. I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Not a huge fan of weighted clubs as they tend to slow people down versus speed them up (for distance). It really depends what you're using it for, to pull you to a good finish or extension through impact it could be helpful. Here is my ball position video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/qKKW2Jd8ksW_e8Y.html
Another great and timely video Mark.
Thanks Bob! Appreciate your kind words!
Very tricky finding fellow leftys. I constantly have to watch right handed videos. Being right handed but swinging left , I find it tricky to unleash the power I feel I still have.
Hi Brian! I'm glad you found my channel. I am right handed and swing lefty as well. We are in good company because Phil does too! Keep working hard and you'll get better at unleashing your power. All the best!
Helpful video. I have been struggling with the slice coming back recently. Anxious to experiment on the range soon! Thanks!
Thanks Bob! This will help the slice for sure. Please let me know if you have any questions!
Great new topic. This will absolutely help me straighten out my drives. I can’t wait to fine tune on the range today. Another great tip! Thanks Mark.
My pleasure Chris! Hope you're well and good luck today!
The last hit didn’t draw ,sorry .
Hey Jim! Look at the black line on the ground and the curve parameter. Curved 8 feet to the right. That’s a draw…..
It's all in the left knee as you turn bend the left knee as needed to keep you centered .
You're absolutely correct (For a right-handed golfer😉). The knees follow the toes and aren't designed for "shearing". As mentioned, if used properly the correct knee movement will keep a player centered. Thanks!
Hi my name is Jose and I need help with my driver I tent to slides a lot with the driver club
Hi Jose! Thank you for your comment. This video should help: kzread.info/dash/bejne/g3iTmsFqlLTJiaQ.html
Yess!..instruction from a lefty
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Good explanation but very little demonstration.
Thanks Bertrand! Glad you enjoyed the video. My newer videos have more demonstration. Enjoy!
This one is excellent. I’m coming to visit !!
Thanks Gregory! I look forward to it!
Any tips on how to get that path more in to out like you did in the last swing ?
Hi Greg! Thank you for your comment. This video should help answer that question: kzread.info/dash/bejne/i2Wdr9WCftDdm6Q.htmlsi=XPG7NVgv9anOqMvR
Finally got to watch a lefty teach me. (Iam a lefty)
Love it! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Great video Mark! Seeing you in January at Golf School. Whenever club face is discussed, the subject of arm rotation/supination comes up. Is that something we should be thinking about?
Hi Rick! Glad you enjoyed the video! I prefer it to be organic but sometimes we need thoughts before it can become a feel. See you soon!
Thanks, Mark. You have a natural way of breaking down learning so it makes sense. Still working on learning this challenging sport.
Thanks Bonnie! I appreciate your kind words! It'll be a lifelong journey....
Finally can learn from a lefty!
Thanks Victoria! I’m glad you found my channel!
Mark, would using a strong grip at setup do the same thing at impact, ( closed face )?
Absolutely! More than one way to get there. I'm a bigger fan of changing the wrists instead of the grip. Most students digest it better!
As usual, great stuff !! Timely for me since I'm getting back to golf from hip replacement surgery. Planning on being down your way this winter and looking you up to cure the bad habits I picked up before surgery. Keep 'em coming !!
Thanks John! Great to hear from you! I’m looking forward to getting you back on track. See you soon!
Liked the video and the understanding of the senior golfer. You sure know your client. I do think that the senior golfer can strengthen their core and keep some of their flexibility with proper training. It all adds up to playing the game you want to.
Thanks Bill! I totally agree. Hope you're well!
Excellent Video !!
Thanks James! Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video Mark. Very timely. I am recovering from a partial knee replacement 5 weeks ago. LOL.
Thanks Bob! Unbelievable timing! Please let me know if you have any questions as you work your way back into golf. I always appreciate your kind words and gifts or kindness! See you soon!
Thanks!
My pleasure! Thank you so much, Bob. This is very much appreciated!
This is a very good analysis of the lifecycle of many/most golfers, well done Mark.
Thanks Peter! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and appreciate your kind words!
