Is this fruit for human consumption?
The fruit is edible for humans, but has a big seed and doesn’t taste all that great.
I have this particular species they try to get rid of it's name and clump this in with Opuntia Ellisiana but that species is spineless this a Texas blue prickly pear Opuntia cacanapa I knew immediately by the height I have this plant in a pot and he's grown 2 feet this year 2 years old and nearing 4 feet tall
I have been wondering what these plants were. Thank you for the information.
Thanks for this informative video!
I harvest the berries and ferment them to make a healthy drink.
I think I like Elbowbush
Why is watching this so god damn satisfying?
I’ve watched every one of these videos, some 10-20 times each. 100% the best brush identification information on the internet. I hunt near Guerrero, Coahuila (right across the river), and I take great pride in understanding what I’m looking at. Thank you for taking the time to make these! Waiting on the grass identification videos now.
Are these trees any good for lumber? I'm clearing a ton of then for my home site and wondering if it would be worthwhile to get a chainsaw mill setup and use them to build a small shed on site.
looked it up on wood-database website: Workability: Can be a challenge to work because of interlocked grain, especially on quartersawn surfaces. Planing can cause tearout and/or fuzzy surfaces. Poor dimensional stability. Glues, stains, and finishes well. Responds well to steam bending, and holds nails and screws well. Common Uses: Boxes, baskets, furniture, hockey sticks, veneer, wood pulp, and papermaking. Rot Resistance: Rated as non-durable; susceptible to insect attack. Living trees are susceptible to Dutch elm disease. Grain/Texture: Grain is interlocked (making it very resistant to splitting). With a somewhat coarse, uneven texture. Common Name(s): Cedar Elm Scientific Name: Ulmus crassifolia Distribution: South-central North America Tree Size: 65-100 ft (20-30 m) tall, 3-5 ft (1-1.5 m) trunk diameter Average Dried Weight: 41 lbs/ft3 (655 kg/m3) Specific Gravity (Basic, 12% MC): .54, .66 Janka Hardness: 1,320 lbf (5,870 N) Modulus of Rupture: 13,500 lbf/in2 (93.1 MPa) Elastic Modulus: 1,480,000 lbf/in2 (10.21 GPa) Crushing Strength: 6,020 lbf/in2 (41.5 MPa) Shrinkage: Radial: 4.7%, Tangential: 10.2%, Volumetric: 15.4%, T/R Ratio: 2.2
Thank you so much for your valuable information. I am planning to get my very own kidneywood tree, some day, as I will start from seed I collected from the side of the road. God bless you and keep up the good work.
Hmmm I was gonna put up stock tanks for deer but you've gave me a lot to think about here thank you

Are the tubers edible
Can this be pruned back like shrub or only like a tree for my front yard?
Was this filmed with a potato?
Funny
Thank you. Does it have a poisonous look alike?
I think all of the fruit pictures are texas persimmon, not coma.
Sir there are more than one seed in the berries. Also sheep and especially goats will readily browse the new growth each spring.
I am so happy to have discovered this site, thank you for all the information about our native trees, bushes , plants, format is so helpful ! especially for people that study> native plants

I thought Bluegill and Perch were two different species?
The deer seem to love Guajillo on our property but we don't have alot of it. Has there been any experience harvesting seed pods and planting Guajillo?
Scarify the seeds.
Thank you for the video!
I was so happy to see your video. Great information! Have you read the book Wanted! Mountain Cedars, Dead and Alive? I found the book extremely useful for even deeper information. I did not see it on your book list slide but I do have many of the books there.

great video! i live in Bullitt county Kentucky and grow the Illinois bundleflower, I didn't realize the benefits for quail! fantastic- it's roots are strong and great for erosion control holding soil together, great channel!
I've found Texas hackberry is extremely shade tolerant, whereas Netleaf hackberry quickly dies if shaded out.
Deer shed antlers business is banned only in india from 1998
Those look like well cared for animals.
That's badass
Sure miss doing captures with the A-Team!
Great memories of my college days
Why do they have tags on?
This was filmed inside a deer breeding facility--permitted by Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to hold pen-raised deer in captivity. Much of what we know about white-tail deer today comes from confined and ear-tagged deer. The tags are used to identification purposes.
I started feeding 20% protein pellets about the first of April. There are 6/7 resident buck feeding numerous times a day. Numerous doe also. Getting to be more expensive than i ever thought. These deer are consuming about 200 lbs. per 7/8 days, but i can already see improvement in antler growth. I can hardly wait to see these buck come November.
