    How do you find the rockers protect your rear panel infront of back tires? Any rock chips from them bypassing the z06 rocker?

  • @u.b.469
    @u.b.4694 ай бұрын

    They seem to be working great especially given the car is lowered. I don’t have any rock chips on the rear panel in front of the back tires. I think if you really wanted to be safe, the 5VM rockers would grant more protection the full length of the side panel, but my car has been just fine.

    Thinking of this color - is it greenish in person? Also can you lower the car with front lift non-z51? This is literally my ideal setup, except with Borla Attak exhaust. How much did the body mods run total if you don’t mind sharing?

  • @u.b.469
    @u.b.4695 ай бұрын

    On overcast days or in certain light it definitely has a slightly greenish tint, but in bright sunlight or under fluorescent lights it looks like a dark metallic gray. The color changing effect of it makes it the best color in my opinion. Everyone that sees it in person has commented how great the color is. It also makes the car look more expensive.

  • @u.b.469
    @u.b.4695 ай бұрын

    Yes you can lower with front lift non-z51. You just need the paragon lowering collars for the front and then the lowering springs in the back. I’m putting the Borla ATAK on next month 😁 Body mods so 1VM front splitter + z06 side skirts + speedtail spoiler = $2149 + installation = $3000

    I don’t agree at all that this is not a supercar. I pulled up next to a McLaren and let him takeoff a full car length before I reeled him in like he was standing still. At that moment, you couldn’t tell me I wasn’t in the same league! I gave him a car length and killed him! There’s always gonna be a faster, car, or one with better stats, and at one point the Corvette was beating a lot of supercars even though it had an inexpensive price. Some Ferraris are catching fire And I’ve even seen them pull on pieces of Maserati’s and Lotus as if they’re inexpensive garbage. What you should be saying is that it’s an inexpensive supercar for the masses. Maybe it should not be a measure of how much the car cost. It’s definitely normal for you to want a better or more rare car. But, until then, I hope you find enjoyment in that beautiful gray Vette. I can only afford a regular Vette right now but,a Z06 may be in the cards. By the way, when’s the last time you heard of an in-expensive supercar being inexpensive to repair? Are you really prepared for a $6K-$10K repair bill? I know even Riche-rich doesn’t like to throw away money and expensive doesn’t always mean it’s better!

  • @u.b.469
    @u.b.4696 ай бұрын

    Yeah my thoughts have changed since this video and I definitely agree with you. This is an affordable supercar. It’s not all about price and rarity. I guess I was just saying that the corvette didn’t have the same brand identity synonymous with supercars like Ferrari and Lamborghini. I still feel that way though. There’s a different level of notoriety with those cars. Probably due to how attainable or rather unattainable they are.

    Great responses and very real. That’s how I would have responded as well Using Jenkins for CI/CD is old school now. A lot of application teams are still using it but it has a lot of limitations It seems like the interview questions were very very basic and sometimes companies are desperate to hire people who have passion to learn. But when it comes to Devops I didn’t t hear anything on your experience in Devops , terraform, how end to end ci/cd works and your contribution, plus nothing I had heard on Gitops. If I was in the other shoes, I would rather prefer someone with some knowledge and desire to learn more over an experienced guy, same thing happened here as well. Hence , Job interviews are more about confidence not about showing your expertise

  • @u.b.469
    @u.b.46910 ай бұрын

    This was the last step of the interview process. The first two steps were more technical honestly. I touched on a lot of the things you mentioned, I wouldn’t have made it to this last step otherwise. I agree Jenkins is outdated. I much rather use GitHub Actions or even Gitlab. I’ve used Terraform and Ansible for IAC, created end to end ci/cd pipelines building/testing/deploying docker images/containers to EKS and GKE kubernetes clusters, set up logging and monitoring alerts with NewRelic/Google Cloud Monitoring/Cloudwatch…so many tools and services. I also actively use ArgoCD for Gitops in my current role. Prior to DevOps I also was a QA Engineer so I wrote test automation scripts in python. I see now that by keeping this video short that I may have underrepresented my skills a bit and it may be misleading. I was really just trying to inspire others to show them what’s possible. I’ll do another interview for fun and show the full technical side as well next time. Thanks for watching!

    Putting my build together now. Any thoughts on the HTC vs. the coupe? Would you switch if you had it to do over again?

  • @u.b.469
    @u.b.46910 ай бұрын

    Hands down the HTC is the way to go. In my opinion, the car looks way more exotic with the nacelles. Also, being able to drop the top at a red light with everyone staring at your car is such a flex lol. Besides that the HTC has more headroom than the coupe which is important if you’re tall (I’m 6’3). Another deciding factor for me was that I didn’t want to keep the rear glass on the coupe clean because everyone has said it’s a pain to deal with. The downside is of course that you can’t see the engine, but my logic is that I’ve driven front-engine cars my whole life and never saw the engine so I’m good. Plus once you’ve seen the engine 10 times, the novelty wears off. Another bonus with the HTC is you get to keep your trunk space while traveling with the top down. So yeah if I bought another C8 I’m going HTC again easily.

    @@u.b.469 Appreciate the insight and thoughts, and the reply. The delivery on these is down to 3 months and they're selling at MSRP, so I'm pulling the trigger. Not sure how much you changed your mind about options, but I'm going back and forth a lot. The HTC would probably be my preference, but wrapping my head around another $7500 is rough. Don't care about trunk space, but the drop top in traffic is boss mode, and I like the idea of not having to do it manually when I arrive at a restaurant or whatever. What color is that btw?
