Thank you for the clear tutorial of this stitch! 🌷
Glad it helped!
Thank you!
You are welcome ✨
it's gorgeous! thank you ♥
You are very welcome 💫
This is a lovely tutorial. Can you say how you join your yarn please. You seem to tie it? To the stitch beneath?
Thank you, Alison! If I am at the spot where I know it will be very easy to hide the ends, yes, I just tie it! If it happens so I need to join new yarn in the middle of work and making a knot would be too visible, I use “Russian join” method - you can google it, super easy.
I love it except the boat neck is too wide for my taste. Can the neck be modified?
Yes, you can bind off less sts for the neckline and make the shoulders’ join longer!
Great info! Confused a bit about double yarn. If I use the same yarn (same color), do I still need to double? Knitting my first sweater!
No, you don’t need the double yarn, I just used it for extra thickness. Congrats on your first project!
Wow, the hat looks so beautiful. Happy birthday 🎉 and thank you for the amazing views!
Thank you so much!! Hope you enjoy knitting it, download link is in the newsletter 💫

Love this sweater. I want to make the number of stitches less. Unfortunately, such a large size does not suit me. Which number multiples do I need? And I think your needle is 6 mm, right?
Thank you! I have graded the sweater for 5 sizes in the pattern file giftofknitting.com/pattern-store/p/bp5fxovy2e65us7dmx1j20id8rdfd0: Chest/Bust at Underarm: 35 (42, 49, 56, 63)“ / 91 (108.5, 126, 144, 162) cm. Here is the multiple: 1 rep of the Textured Flowers st (10 sts) = 3 ½“ (9 cm) Here is the gauge. Each knitter's tension is slightly different, so I recommend experimenting with the needle sizes 4.5 mm - 6 mm to get the suggested in the pattern gauge: 11.5 sts x 14 rnds = 4” 10 cm in Textured Flowers stitch after blocking. Hope it helps! Alina
Love the pattern. How many yards of mohair are needed for a medium size sweater? Is it possible to alter the top so it isn't a boatneck? It looks lovely on you but would not be so great on me. Thanks.
Thank you! You can find the breakdown of yards per sizing on the pattern page - 6 (6, 6, 7, 7) skeins of 109 yds/100 m in 1.75 oz 50 g. The pattern doesn't have the alternative neckline written out, but if you have enough experience, yes - you can definitely change it to a more crew neck shape with less stitches bound off at the beginning and then a gradual stitches decrease. Hope it helps!
Really fantastic video and explanation!
Thank you so much for the feedback!! Made me smile!
Türkçe altyazılı lütfen ❤
Unfortunately I do not speak beautiful Turkish, but I am sure some AI app can automatically translate the video! Hope that helps!
This was such an atmospheric glimpse of yarn boutiques in Paris. Just wish we'd had more time to linger inside those shops and outside. in the streets 🧶🧶🧶
Awww I am glad you liked it! Thank you for recommendation - I thought I was the only one who likes to look at buildings and the streets and all the possible textures around :) Next time will share more of the surroundings ✨
Beautifully clear - thank you
Glad it was helpful!
So helpful. Thank you so much.
You are very welcome!
what size needles?
I am using 6 mm, but I highly recommend checking your gauge - different knitters knit with different tension, so you might get the recommended gauge on a different needle size.
🇧🇷💕🌷💥 Lindo obrigada 😘
You are welcome ✨
This is just what I was looking for and your instructions are so easy to follow and clear. Thank you!!
Glad it was helpful!
Knit this sweater with me - giftofknitting.com/pattern-store/p/sand-sweater-pattern-baja-collection-lmb4k
I love your patterns. They are so detailed, precise and easy to follow, leaving nothing to guesswork. I've made 2 of your sweaters, Porcelain Cardigan and long ago, the Heritage Sweater. I made the Porcelain Cardigan much longer with 3 buttons,
Thank you so much for sharing that! It is so important to me to hear that ❤️
This was perfect. My neckline on a sweater that took me months to knit with expensive (for me) yarn was jagged and sloppy even after 3X of ripping it out and redoing. I was upset with the finished project... then I found your video. The bottom stitches smoothed the transition to the neckline and all decreases and holes were neatly covered. Thanks to you, I now have my new favorite sweater.😍
That is so wonderful to hear! Thank you for sharing! Those finishing details make a world of difference - sometimes we are so impatient to be done with the project, so we skip those, but they are so worth that extra time and effort in the end!
G’day, thank you this is a game changer for neater necklines 👍🇦🇺
You are very welcome! Yes, I never skip this extra step before picking up sts for neckline and sleeves, so worth the time invested!
Meraviglioso ❤❤
Grazie!
Sıradışı çok güzel bir süveter olmuş.Elinize sağlık 👍
I don't speak beautiful Turkish, but I used a google translate - thank you for your kind words! Teşekkür ederim!
That's gorgeous 😍
Thank you! 😊
Hi I love your work …. What do you do if you have stitches on needle holder …like for centre front that haven’t been cast off?
Thank you! I would insert the crochet hook inside the live sts and pull the yarn through it, creating the crochet chain. Hope it makes sense - it's easier on the needles/hook than in text :)
Your channel ıs really soooo dıfferent, always waıt what you do
Thank you :) Working on new designs and videos 🪄
Thank you
You are welcome!
Exactly what I was looking for (!!!) to finish a ballet-wrap sweater! Thank you... May I ask, please, where the Journey sweater side split technique is posted?
You are very welcome, happy it helped! Journey sweater split is written out in the pattern, step by step, it is using this technique as well to create a rounded neat edge that doesn't roll - giftofknitting.com/pattern-store/p/journey-sweater-pattern
👏👏👏
I really like this channel, always so specific and I do not even knit.. Plus her voice is so soothing, she could do an ASRM channel no cap.
Thank you!!
Amazing tutorial, thank you very much for making this video!
You're very welcome!

Very neat ! In the "traditional" way of picking up stitches, we have to figure out a pick-up ratio (stitches vs rows gauge) in the side of the collar where we have rows and not columns of stitches like in the front or back. With your method, do you make a crochet slip stitch in every rows in the sides or do you skip some stitches to respect your ratio gauge? The sample in your video is in a bulky weight with very few stitches on the sides, and I am curious what it would look like with a thinner yarn.
Thank you for the question! I divide the number of stitches that I need to pick up by two and then evenly space out the crochet slip stitches. But if I see that I need to fill out one hole or pull the stitches closer together, I would do that even if it will result not in the perfect number of picked up sts at the end, because that clean line of crochet slip sts is what creates a neat neckline; the number of sts can always be adjusted later on the first row. Hope that makes sense! Alina
So helpful. Thank you.
You are very welcome!
Wow. Nice tutorial. Beautiful design and color 💚.
Thank you, Blanca! I am glad you found it useful!
I made this sweater twice and just love it !!
That's so great to hear Christina, thank you for sharing! I also have this sweater in two colors.

Thank you!
Very interesting. Thanks 👍😊
You are welcome :)
This is so interesting. I love it. Thank you.
You are welcome, Claire!
Hi. Is there any reason why I cannot work under both "V legs"? Thank you for sharing your great work. 🙌
Technically you can, of course, but the whole point of the slip sts is to cover the imperfections of the "raw" neckline line. So the second V leg of the slip stitch stays as it is and creates a neat line running along your picked up sts. Hope that answers your question!
I have been looking for a Dickie pattern to knit on an cerler knitting machine e mail me please
Hello Patricia, I am not sure what you are referring to, unfortunately. I am not familiar with this pattern. Hope you find it!
Owww you are my girl my savior i was looking for this weeks. As if you read my mind. I am not good in knitting in round starting from the neck. But then i had this problem how to pick up stitches because neck line is not even due to the decreased stitches THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH❤❤❤❤
Yay, glad it helped! Happy knitting!
Nice excellent finish...love the tutorial
Happy to hear that!
Can you use this method around top down or bottom up armholes before you Kitchener stitch the two sides together as I always end up with holes at either end that I have to close up
Absolutely! Crochet chain covers a lot of "fail" of a knitwear fabric at the edges.
Excellent tutorial.
Good to hear it helped, Wanda!
This is a great idea. I imagine picking up stitches around an armhole, which always looks bad to me, will benefit from this.
Absolutely. In my patterns I always refer knitters to this tutorial when picking up stitches for armholes as well - makes a huge difference, no puckering of the fabric and the result look very clean and professional.
This looks so polished! I am not that experienced a sweater knitter (mainly I knit socks) so I will ask whether this technique also works for a V neck neckline (or other shapes, like a scoop neck or boat neck). Thank you!
Hello Andrea, yes, this technique will work for any type of neckline. Create the crochet chain, following the line of the neckline and that's it!
