New video game review every Saturday. What kind of games? New games, old games, retro games, Nintendo, Xbox, Playstation, Game Boy, Switch, Wii, Wii U, Sega, PC, C64. If it is a game, I will review it.
Videos that aren't game reviews on Tuesdays. Might be the worst parts of great games, or about games that aren't available anymore, or something about gaming accessories, or just some nonsense.

This looks to be targeted at the nostalgia crowd, people interested in learning about Atari's old game machines, and video game historians/history buffs.
There is a lot of nostalgia bait on offer here, that is true.
Worst things about the Pre Sequel: -Lack of dedicated drops -Assault rifles retaining their critical hit penalties from Bl2 -Scav weapons, apart from their SMGs, rocket launchers, and roid shields -Enemies with laser weapons. They're more brutal than any conventional enemy in Bl2 that isn't the badass pyre thresher. Hitscan + high damage over time chance = R.I.P. -Lunatics/Moonstruck/Elpisians having a hidden HP multiplier in TVHM/UVHM. They also have an unavoidable stomp attack. If this already is bad, imagine a badass version in UVHM, and speaking of which... -Badass enemy scaling in UVHM. 3.5x shield x 2.5x HP = 8.75x overall toughness compared to a normal mode badass enemy without a shield. This also applies to bosses, such as *eugh* Eclipse and EOS (which already have raid boss scaling). Badass enemies with guns are also prone to spawn using rocket launchers. -Badass Outlaws. They're durable, homing projectile firing, cryo grenade throwing, laser wielding juggernauts that are always shielded to boot. Did I mention they have a stomp attack that is unavoidable? They can also spawn with rocket launchers. Now imagine them with that UVHM badass scaling. The game is very liberal in its use of these enemies (about 7 or 8 guaranteed locations throughout the story iirc) -Fire damage being nearly useless for most of the game. Bl2 had the same issue, but for different reasons. Would be a shame if a character had a whole skill tree that revolves around it... oh wait. -Some maps being arbitrarily long and don't have vehicles, or have limited vehicle usage (i.e. Outlands areas, Vorago Solitude) -The entirety of Intelligences of the Artificial Persuasion. The dialogue was funny, but having to go through wave after wave of enemies was annoying, and most of the Bosun's attacks are homing and nearly instakill in higher difficulties. -Claptastic Voyage legendaries don't have a grider recipe to get a guaranteed version, nor can they come with luneshine bonuses. They have dedicated drops, but they either come from an annoying boss, or drop from very specific enemies at a ludicrously low drop rate. -The Moon Zoomy. Never use it after the Stingray is obtainable. -Vending machines being way too expensive. I am NOT paying $80,000 for a level 12 legendary I could farm much more easily in Bl2.
I love Mega Man Legends! :)
I mean if you don’t want it🫴
I enjoyed this! You should google Mega Man Legends 2 Episode 1.
I played MML2 back in the day; I never got to the end, but my little brother did. This series could do with a remastering, especially the first game. At the very least they could sell the PS1 ROMs on Steam or GOG. If sales are good, Capcom might consider restarting development on MML3.
@@StoneCresent if only.
Same. I was too young to understand it. Didn't help. I was expecting more of the side scrolling original gameplay Megaman 😂
There’s only about 2 or 3 required vehicle sections, one of which is the hover jump you showcased, so apart from that I don’t think the vehicles were anywhere close to being bad (by Borderlands standards, I suppose). Personally, I thought the Grinder was the worst part of the game. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I’m pretty sure there were certain unique weapons and items that could only be gotten from using the Grinder and they had horrible drop chances. This means that instead of save quitting and farming a boss for a particular unique drop you’d have to go and acquire 3 purple rarity weapons of the archetype of the weapon you wanted and keep on feeding them until you miraculously get the weapon you wanted. At least when you farm bosses you’re actually doing something somewhat engaging instead of just mindlessly navigating menus.
@@gokufirespit8418 I liked the grinder. I do admit it did have it's own issues, such as you described, but I liked having something to do other than just sell everything that dropped. Was a little disappointed it didn't return in BL3.
does this work on ps5 and pc?
This does work on PC. This is the Switch version, so does not work on PS5. There is however a PS5 version that exists, I've seen it at Best Buy.
@@TheOffenderBlog thanks for your reply
The only thing that I gotta say is why that FOV? It looks horrendous
@@aReT4RTedduck it pretty much is.
I have nothing to add but, skill issue.
I don't recall the driving areas to be that bad. I think I actually died more often to enemies than to driving mistakes. The worst part for me was that the late game levels saw a noticeable dip in FPS relative to previous levels. I blame the computer I had at the time, but I never got around to finishing the game.
4 minutes of complaining in a monotone voice. Why I was recommended this, is beyond me
Have sixaxis?
Yea a lot of games require sixaxis and you will get to a spot where you can’t continue
It's such a great master piece of a game series and an awesome review as well.
i hate when some games made mistake.
Must have take awhile because CC has been remasterd
@@bornnoir yes. I made a video prior to this where I went through and talk about which games are "no longer trapped".
The voice. 🤭
The pipe is pretty bad, but for me the worse offender was ending up down in that little jug-handle where the little green aliens "teach" you to wall jump, and you can't get out until you wall jump your way up a vertical shaft. Super Metroid's wall jump has a very precise input without a very big window, so as a child, figuring out it even existed by copying the aliens took a while, and then it took even longer to do it consistently enough to get back out of the pit.
I was really bad at it as a child too. So I got out of that pit by bomb jumping out. I am still not great at the wall jump.
I actually think this one has the best gameplay in the series. You didn't mention the ground pound or introduction of the cryo element, but each adds a lot, and the low gravity areas feed into that between ground pounding out of your moon jumps and freezing enemies in midair so they fall and shatter. Otherwise, mechanically it's pretty much more Borderlands 2, so that's all additive. The only gameplay change I can think of that people might dislike is the oxygen mechanic, but as you said, it doesn't come up very often. Now the environments and characters are kind of bland imo, but I mean, they're just not what I come to Borderlands for, so it never bothered me.
There is a version of Dolphin dedicated to the Metroid Prime trilogy that pump up all the graphical part and keyboard/mouse support. It's not official but excellent
I was gonna watch this video but I just can't handle this voice man, are you doing a bit? I hope this comment gives you a boost and a laugh hopefully lol
I got one of these when they cleared them out for, iirc $5 or whatever. This thing is great for its intended niche use, which you mentioned: playing PC games that require a mouse for input. I've used mine to play The Banner Saga 1-3, Inscryption, Tharsis and Dicey Dungeons from the comfort of my couch, prior to the controller support being added to a couple of those. I hear some folks really dial them in for use in FPS, but couldn't be me.
The Etrian Odyssey 1-3 collection was huge for me. I always wanted to play those (I love DRPG's) but after I got a Switch I couldn't bear the idea of playing these on the lesser screens and less comfortable controls of a DS, and I figured there was no way they'd ever make it to a single screen platform. Delighted that they did. 🎉 Now if they'd do that for the rest of them...
I was very happy when that released on Switch. Would like to do a video on that collection, but recording Switch footage is difficult
It's Super Street Fighter II: The New Challengers and Super Street Fighter II Turbo.
Its just one of those days
Is it now?
This collection hurt my thumb and I loved beating all twelve games minus having to play the new generation games again.
hehe nice
awesome content
geat video
great
You don’t seem very knowledgable on these games at all. “Why would you use the old versions of characters” maybe because old Sagat is the strongest character in Super Turbo besides Akuma.
Bro sorry but its 2024
My understanding of the situation with the EX series is that they weren't included for licensing reasons. Capcom doesn't own all the IP for that series, since they didn't produce it themselves. Street Fighter II, Super Street Fighter II, and Street Fighter III were 100% Capcom products.
Only the Deluxe Edition of the original game had the pneumatic buttons. The regular version had the six button layout. Very few deluxes were sold.
That would explain why I only ever saw one once.
SFA2 was at my local dairy so I played it every morning and night! I learned about Evil Ryu via a random dude at an arcade inside of a garage at a servo. He said he’d show me how to get him if I beat him in a vs. not sure how he knew, but I’m thinking he got it from a magazine.
Secrets like that used to be much harder to learn.
Bought this when it was released cos I knew it was gonna be a collectors item. Mine sis still in the wrapper! So this is nice to see the menus and all!
What platform you buy it on?
I have mixed feelings about this one. Some stuff is neat on the surface, but that’s just it, on the surface, once you start getting into it you find out it has a lot of flaws and odd gameplay mechanics that annoys well me at least.
I know exactly what you mean
Thing that annoys me most is fighting enemies near walls and when you hit the wall you glance off, it makes sense sort of when you think about it but holy has it ever screwed me over sometimes that and the locking on etc
@@TheDetroitfan100 I noticed the enemies could hit the walls too, but only sometimes
I can't parry like God of war because I need to move my joystick or mowing keys, not my camera. It's so annoying. And I move too much when not locking on. Oh yes, while you are locked on you can't parry other attacks from enemies
5:55 One reason why you might choose an original character and sacrifice the super metre might be for Sagat. The original version retains the broken (I think 5 hit) Tiger Uppercut that is arguably the most damaging move in the game. Also I think the OG Sagat fireballs only took a couple of hits to dizzy. I could be wrong though. Memory, old age blah blah. 👍
7:55 I don’t wanna be that guy but Ryu is pronounced as riu-u with about half a beat of "ee" (as in eel) and one and a half beats of "oo" again I don’t wanna sound like a jerk it’s just a small correction
Fair enough. Just been taking my best guess since the 90s.
The "y" is marking the palatalization of the "r" sound. It's like the difference between "moot" (no palatalization) and "mute" (palatalized "m") in English.
Where is Street Fighter EX plus?😅
Sadly not here. They needed the space for 5 versions of SF2
Capcom's struggled with emulating their 3D games, they've mostly stuck to CPS machines for releases. Though, MvC 2 is coming back and that's a Naomi game so maybe they'll package up the EX games eventually.
@9:10 you sound casual AF . The V-ism also features significantly different normal strikes if you haven't noticed use Ken and you'll quickly notice the difference
1st comment but aww that sucks that you never saw an arcade cabinet of this. Golf n Stuff Norwalk CA had SFA2 on a simple sized cabinet and Marvel vs Capcom 1 on one those XL cabinets with the big screens in about 1999
The arcades near me got pretty bad. Still, I miss them at times
Ur voice is deep lmao
Yes it is.
the controller is smiling
Indeed it is.
@@TheOffenderBlog bro relly said :D
Slight variations of the characters from 2??? The pre sequel has own of the most unique characters in the series. Along with the way you talk, this is one of the worst reviews iv seen
I've had other aftermarket controllers turn on the ps3 also. Multiples actually
Really? I have a fairly large selection of them, and the vast majority don't turn the system on
Good review, picking this game up for Xbox 360 soon.
please keep in mind that this IS in 2077. Technology has advanced by incredible amounts. Water proof cyberware is not hard to believe. Hell, I WASHED and DRIED by headphones (charger case and all) and it still works. also, pretty sure ive seen a few microwaves. I can understand people not seeing them, as we dont exactly need to look for them. also, yes, people do need to get regular maintenance on their cyberware. Cyberware does degrade over time and sometimes malfunction. In the book, Aya's hand is malfunctioning. Some parts, like the heart, needs to be paid attention to because it can kill you if a heart or even a lung augment goes bad. thank you for coming to my tedtalk.
The...pacemaker = no microwaves is like WAAAAAY out of date. Like...half a century.
Is it?
@@TheOffenderBlog Old microwaves might still be a problem, or if they have faulty shielding, but in general, it's pretty safe. Maybe don't linger in front of it just in case of the faulty shielding on the microwave. They're still far less sensitive to it than they were a few decades ago.
Fair enough. I just remember it being a plot point a lot on TV when I was a child. Doesn't come up very much these days
Basically due to the US and Europe being at each others throats war was far more profitable, and constant economic crashes allowed for certain companies to grab power resulting in a ridiculous amount of money going into research that started with prosthetics after the major wars in Central America (iirc). Basically, mega corporations pumped tons of money into material technology and human augmentation, Arasaka in particular did so because Saburo wanted to extend his life (he’s a ww2 Vet). Long story short, world is different, and they were behind in some ways in 2020 while also being leagues ahead in others which isn’t unfeasible. 2077 is them being way further ahead. A lot of alt histories and even speculation of the growth and develops of technology and civilization of our own and alien species deal in stuff like this, and it’s also speculative fiction, so there will be inconsistencies or changes because we’ve lived to the period the original game was set in and seen how things turned out
