It is a private owned business. Do you need permission or authorisation to video there? Can you share the legality of it please? Would be helpful to know.

If they had a live, ongoing contract, the police would have been there in a matter of minutes.... I'm inclined to believe them, maybe the security is needed because there WAS a contract and they had faced negative backlash from people....

Lots to unpack here! The manager of the dealership seemed actually decent - raised valid points and was quite calm. Those who are saying not to buy from here shouldn’t as the operations didn’t seem too bad (even DJ said it looks a little better than other dealerships @2:10) But the woman who grabbed the camera and the owner who initially charged at DJ were in the wrong but that wasn’t the point where things go south…… It’s at @49:01 …… The guy from the neighbouring business….this owner makes a point to try it on with this guy and see what happens……the guy from the neighbouring business walks over to the manager to calm him down and whispers something to him, and then he keeps walking over to DJ as they make “small talk” as he is look around the street. It’s the way the manager of the used dealership said “try it on with him and see what happens” and then all of a sudden that’s when things go south. My guess is this guy from the neighbouring business is very well connected or is a known gangsta and made a call on DJ in those moments and was sizing DJ up as they spoke (kept on getting closer and closer…) Without sounding too crazy, I think you got VERY VERY lucky.

What I recommend DJE and other people pissed off about the attitude of these security do is this: 1. Get their identity from their security ID and run that by the authority to make sure they are actually licensed and legal. I bet you a lot of them are not. It's odd how they're 99.9% foreign and can often barely speak English. Some are probably are not even legal citizens with no right to work in UK. Report those to UK Border Agency for a visit. Any hotel owners using illegal migrant labour for security can face huge fines or even closure. 2. Take still shots of them (or screen capture from video their faces) and do a reverse-image facial recognition search on Google and other sites. Often you'll find it matches their faces to other photos and websites online and you can find out who they are and what their legal status is. If it turns out they are illegal aliens, go to step 1. 3. Compile a photo gallery of faces and names for future reference. And a list of all the hotels taking part in these government migrant contracts for future public bycots. Find out who owns the hotels, how much the companies are making (ie search Companies House records) and if there's any connection to the security personnel (family relations etc). I'd never stay in a hotel that's benefited from government contracts to house illegal migrants at the tax-payers expense. 4. Often these hotels have private hire taxi's operating from outside the hotels so watch out for that closely. I've seen security guards that are also working as taxi private hire from the hotel grounds. That's illegal and can be reported to the local authority taxi licensing department and their licenses revoked. Often the taxi vehicles themselves are more than 8 years old which is also illegal and easy to see from the reg plate. Pay close attention to the taxi's themselves if you see one. Often they're not in legal compliance with signs not on display on frontside doors etc. Taxi drivers must also be wearing their taxi license ID on them when driving a taxi and the license and number must also be clearly visible on the taxi vehicle itself. I saw one private hire taxi parked outside a hotel in one of DJE's videos a few months back was in SEVEN legal violations of taxi licensing and DVLA law

All he had to say is “feel free” we won’t need to escort you then. Why are so many of them unable or unwilling to de escalate situations - they get thousands of pounds of deescalation training as well.

If you’re interested, you could visit Varosha, the abandoned city, Original red bus tours go for €30pp. Careful with Cyprus Police, I would advise against filming them. You could have a look at the British Sovereign Base Areas, Dhekelia is just down the road. Familiarise yourself with the SBA Gazette (Legislation) before you do so though
