For me, Nothing beats cooking food, outdoors over an open fire, surrounded by friends and family. Pizza has always been at the heart of my culinary favourites as it’s so versatile and great to share.
During the lockdown of 2020, I bought my first pizza oven, and wanted to film my experiences honing the craft of pizza making to help and inspire others, So I grabbed my dough balls and camera, and set to work.
Four years later, I’m fortunate enough to be able to make pizza every weekend, filming my journey and turning my love of pizza making into a dedicated You Tube channel

A bigger bucket!
🎉FIRST!! 🎉 That smokeless fire pit looks good. Goes great with the decor. Great review Tom. Can't wait to see the comparison review with the Solo fire pit.
great information- nicely done!
Not sure that worked out mate. Why did you set the steak on a cold grizzler
Really cool product.
Ooni pizza 0 I pizza oven chahie
I just received mine this week but haven’t used it yet. I got the converter that allows use of wood pellets such as are used with pellet grills/smokers. Thats easier for me than firewood.
I need one of these in my life
Silly question, but did you have any trouble taking the connector off the gas bottle once it was on? Cant tell if theres an issue with mine or im just being dense...
Thank you
Do you have to stick it in the fridge
Yes, 18/24 hrs in the fridge after balling it up
Can you really taste the difference between cooking a pizza with wood and gas?
I believe in high temperature is needed not in lower temperature... And you need something to make the heat to reflect to the top, as i think the head cover is two high for the pizza
Can you make review on G3 Ferrari
A company offered to send me one like the G3 Ferrari, but I didn’t get round to review.
Well we know which one looks better at least. Ooni looks like a cheap Aldi over compared to the sleek Gozney.
Thanks for checking out my video
Great review, did the oven take long to cool down? After cooking could you cover within 10, 20, 30 minutes?
Thank you! From memory it took about 45 mins to cool down
Can I cook pizza in this oven or is it only for pizzer?
What do you mean?
At least with little kids, 40 minutes for the arc to heat up for a neapolitan during a weekday is a deal breaker. I would much rather have the arc, but heat up time is too long.
Looks well undercooked
Thanks. Thats helped me decide on which pizza oven to buy
Another great video Tom. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi, nice video! Could you tell me if a 32 cm pizza pan would fit into the oven?
The stone size is 30x30cm, so it might just be a little too big to fit
@@TomVoyageukthank you for your quick response. Have a nice day!
I liked that long pause when Tom noticed the uncooked base hahaha
The thing is though, would you rather me edit stuff like this out and not be honest? I pride my channel and reviews on showing a true reflection of a product, that’s why I leave this stuff in.
@@TomVoyageuk I think it great you didn't edit it out. Honesty is the best policy. I just watched another of your videos and I am pleased I subscribed. Keep up the great work Tom. All the best from Melbourne, Australia.
Why??? That’s not a homemade burger…just buy some mince and add salt… Not sure what the point of that video was but here I am watching it as an Ooni 12g owner. I’ll get that pan for sure but will raise the game on those pitiful burgers.
I’m intrigued to know your burger recipe sir, please share
Tom! I just got a Ooni Karu 12g. Your videos helped me to make my decision and get set up. First pizzas went well but room for improvement. Thank you for making such good quality videos.
Thank you very much for the feedback!
No it's not, just simply take out the tray on the normal basket, this allows you to put much more fuel in and heats up quicker
Another great video, looks alright to be fair. Have you got a review coming up on the igneous pizza oven behind you?
Hi thanks for the comment! Yes if look back in my previous videos I have the igneus video there
I'm not sure what to think about this? I'd probably feel a bit silly & bored sitting around such a small fire pit!
I don't know... Maybe the thing if you want to toast a few "marshies" 😂😂😂
Maybe more for the aesthetic rather than to cook on
Great video. I think you're meant to use spirit alcohol in the alcohol burner. This way, you will get a hot, and almost invisible blue flame for cooking like the original Trangia camping stoves.
Good suggestion! I’ve not seen or heard of those trangea stoves for ages! We used one during a trek in Mongolia back in 2006!
Can you use this new door with the wood burner instead of gas?
I think is recommended for gas only, it might mess with the airflow for using wood
A bucket
😜
Looks grea
Thank you
🎉FIRST!! That's a nifty little "gadget" to have. I wonder if you could cook a pizza with that 😅😂😉. Great video mate!
Maybe a bit small to cook pizza! Thanks for watchjng
Easy with propane, but how about with the wood fired Ooni Karu 16?
I fear for NY style pizza, using wood would be very difficult to maintain a low enough temp, worth a try though
Thank you for getting straight to it and allowing me to win an argument. Cheers!
Haha you’re welcome!
Ray Mears making pizza
He’s my dad 👨 🏕️
are you happy with the low smoke is it really ?
Chicken on pizza?! The police is on its way!
I love a chicken pizza! What’s your take on pineapple though?? 🍍
What stood out to me was how much smaller the wood ovens are. Plus the finicky doors. One has a hook and the other doesn't?
If heat makes it stick, I wonder if putting the peel in a deep freezer for a few minutesc would help if it's a very hot day outside
Its like a nine field with the amount of pizza ovens out there. For a budget of 200-300 what would you buy?
All ooni needed to do was add handle slots to the sides and back of that cast iron to make it easy to rotate during cooking rather than having to remove and try to stir... stupid design!!
I agree that handles on both sides would be very advantageous
Hi Tom, what was the weight measurement for the salt on this one?
It was around 25grams, use sea salt too not table salt
It seems that the Breville works better.
A thicker stone will always take longer than a thinner one. That one isn't a fair comparison.
<3<3<3
The only optional add on to that would be a electronic rotating platform and a full glass door double insulated like a manual deck oven
Instead of pizza stone, you can use a steel base. OT won't get cold that easily & and will distribute the heat evenly
He didnt mention the plug chord & how long it is. Thats how they get you lol.
Tom, can we do sourdough etc in here?
If I need to buy a new pizza oven, absolutely not from Ooni. Ooni tends not fix any fixable fault and no add-on features. They just have new model and leave you in the dust.
