My theory, People buying Chibsons regardless of whether they can afford a Gibson are not going to buy a Gibson because they don't want to spend that much money. Hence Chibsons in theory would be having very little impact on Gibson sales

What an ambient pedal!!
I am here to defend the rice Ric I purchased a few months ago (2024). It is a copy of the limited edition 325JL that Rickenbacker built in 1990 - 1991 (John Lennon signature and self-portrait doodle on the raised pickguard plate). Looks-wise, it is very close to the authentic Ric build with the exception of the tailpiece which is styled after a Bigsby tailpiece whereas the original came with Rickenbacker's standard tailpiece which they still use today on the 325C64. Another difference is that my guitar is a solid body whereas the authentic is a semi-solid body. Also I believe that my rice Ric is mahogany as opposed to Rickenbacker's maple. The scale of my guitar is the correct 3/4. The fit and finish is very good. Quite playable. I should add that I consider the 325 to be a rhythm machine due to its short scale. Most guitarists would be hard pressed to shred on a neck with the frets so close together. To sum up, considering that the current price of a Rickenbacker 325C64 is around $3600US, I am well pleased with my rice Ric at $280US delivered. Just my 2¢...

Absolutely one of the greats, and a fine songwriter as well. "Frankenstein" became so indelibly etched in my brain that when I started writing my own material, I unconsciously appropriated part of the chord progression from the Dolls classic. The song containing that fragment became the A-side of my band's only single...and for that, I offer my eternal gratitude to Sylvain Sylvain.

As time has passed, the comments of Mr Nash are irrelevant. He always vocalised at every opportunity whilst a member of The Hollies and then took his vocalisation across the pond to the states. We have a saying in the UK "could talk a glass eye to sleep" well it was a saying tailor made for him !

Chris Baranet here. Max was my older brother. I am seeing this interview for the first time. It's very emotional for me to watch this. I feel joy and despair. I miss my brother very much. Unfortunately, my brother died without a will, so the 10 or 15 Max guitars he left behind were all stolen by my two Scientology sisters Tina and Michelle. RIP, big brother.

Chinees workers have become really competitive to americans and europeans, during the last decade. I have a chineese Iphone, a Tesla and a 12 string Harley Benton, and all three products are made in the highest quality, as if it was made by super skilled workers in Mainland Denmark. But at half the price. This is really disruption.
I bought a Chibson Les Paul and I've purchased real Gibson's over the years and I promise you that the guitar that I received for $170 absolutely blew the $2,800 Gibson Les Paul out of the water. This guy saying that the scale length is going to be wrong 😂 just made me laugh harder than I have in a very long time. If he wants to go there, then let's visit that statement... The Chibson's fret work was absolutely flawless where all 3 of my real Gibson Les Paul's had problems with fret levelling and intonation issues. I actually had to pull every single fret out of the Gibson that I have in my profile pic here and re-place all 22 frets, level the frets and then grind and polish the frets in order to get it to play and intonate as well as the Chibson.

Wouldn't you know, they don't sell this pedal at the guitar center. No wonder the guitar center filed bankruptcy. This pedal is good, but I hope it's not overpriced.

it makes me sad that Ron was so upset that he had to play bass on Raw Power. BUT, I cannot imagine his guitar style on Raw Power being as good as the mighty James Williamson. bittersweet I guess
I just conclude that they were both great. there are some good videos of him (Williamson) jamming leisurely, w/ a Les Paul custom. fantastic!

The world has just dropped for me this morning. I used to follow Mike in the very early days. I am so very sorry for your loss...I'm devastated so God knows how you all feel...my heart goes out to everyone who was touched by Mike's being.
The trade mark laws are there to protect the consumer not the manufacturer! You are only braking the law if you don't disclose that it is a fake, replica, reproduction or what ever you want to call it, and try selling it as an 'Authentic' Gibson. Same reason you can find manufacturers making and selling reproductions of Shelby Cobras. Because the customer is well aware they aren't making and selling original Shelby Cobras! Where the grey area comes up is, the people buying Chibsons from China online are almost all aware they are buying a Fake, however China is most assuredly trying to pass it off as 'Authentic'. And if you buy Chibson and then try to sell it to someone else as a real gibson you are most definitely braking the law.
The Hollies are every bit as good as the Beatles, and in many ways better. The Hollies have a better drummer, better harmonizing, and Allan Clarke is a better vocalist than any of the Beatles.
