Hey! I'm Kevin, but you can call me kevwyxin (kev-wix-in). I'm passionate about synths and sound design. I've recorded, mixed, and mastered my own full length album that's available on all major streaming services. I make music and gear related videos here on KZread. If you like synthesis, sound design, and more music related shenanigans then you should feel right at home. :)
Thanks for the support!

oooo a long one for sequencers-- love this :)
very useful, thank you !!!
This pedal is surely certified as epic
Agreed! One of my favorites!
Excellent tutorial.
I throw nut in you
Great Video! I love my KSP. It's the centerpiece of most of my latest videos. That being said, it's easy to get so excited about the synths/drums plugged into it that you forget that it's even there. I think that's a telltale of a fantastic instrument. My mind was blown when I got to the Mood part of this video. I can't wait to try it myself! Did you have to set any midi channels/CC's before it worked with the mood? I've added this one to my KSP playlist for reference later. Keep the great videos coming!
I just had to set the global midi channel on the KSP to the mood’s midi channel then select which CC I wanted each knob on the KSP to control. Pretty easy setup!!
@@kevwyxin awesome! Thank you so much!
just bought it and you saved me. So well explained.
What would happen if you would cross-connect send A to return B and send B to return A? Any mixing tricks to be achieved like that? Create a feedback loop in a way?
I haven’t tried that yet! I’ll give it a go (carefully) and see what happens!
Interesting. How did you find this info, I have the FPL, is it the same for that camera too?
I think so! And I found it by doing some tests on my camera and also lots of digging around the internet. 😅 That’s why I wanted to make a video about it because I figured if I was having trouble finding the info easily others likely were too!
I love how you explain and do deep dives into pedals. If you’re looking into more pedals to look into I’d suggest some Alexander pedals since they are packed with features that are often overlooked.
Thanks! I’ll have to look into those!
Thanks so much for this video. I just got this pedal, and it confused me so much, but this video (and the previous) have cleared things up enormously Btw which synth are you running into the mood in this?
The Prophet Rev2!
This video has me very impressed with both Arturia & Kevwyxin. There are so many possibilities this could bring to the table in a live set that neither live looping nor even backing tracks could quite accomplish. Also, I love how that patch sounds at 13:46.
Thanks! I agree!

cheers for this, had the pedal for a while, read the manual, still helped me get a bit deeper into how it works
Glad I could be helpful!
Gr8 overview, cheers 👾🎛️
(((((((((( Soul good Thank you 🙏🏾 ))))))))))
Thanks for listening!
They shouls of used brush style connectors rather than the prong style
Isle seat on a Boeing 777 I think, nice
Wh whaaat? Wow thank you
No problem ☺️
That’s so wild!
I’m patching so happily rn
That’s what I like to hear! 🙌
Kev you need to do more Read the manual on pedals and stuff. Your tutorials are the best ive seen
Thanks so much! I’m always happy to do the read the manual videos! I think I’ve almost run out of pedals to do, but I have a couple other pieces of gear I plan to make videos on eventually! 😅
I was hoping to get more info using dip switches with an expression pedal, mainly the clock function. Anybody get good results with that? Thanks.
Yeah it’s easy, just plug in the expression pedal, flip the clock dip switch and go to town!
So, power on, plug in expression pedal and flip dip? I think I flipped all switches while powered down and watching your video!
😅 Yeah that’s all you need to do!
Amazing tutorial man best i have seen
Very good tutorial. Clear&straight fw 🙏🏻
So weird you looked at this same time i did and it was posted so long ago lol.
Nothing weird, i’vd just bought the gen loss mk2 and i was searching a good tutorial to watch before going to bed :))
@@rumore80 i dont know i meant no offense i just didnt think i would be looking at a tutorial that was a year or more old at the same time a day as another person. I was looking for the very same reason.
No offense at all man! So, are you enjoying you gen loss? I have paired it with a Hologram Microcosm + an OP1 and the results are…magic 🌀
Do you have a tutorial on how to use the El zone on the sigma fp?
Not yet, but I can!
@@kevwyxin that would be awesome
Love that you still have those Instax photos 💙stoked to hear the new stuff!
I’m never throwing those away! 😤
can someone please help me to get an idea how to record stereo out from this pedal to audio interface which has an instrument cable "in"?
You would need a TRS to split TS cable! 1/4” for both. That way you have a left and right Channel to go into your audio interface. Hosa makes solid ones and it should be easy to find.
They modelled Ned Flanders after you
😂🤣
Everytime I forget how to do something on the pedal, I just come here for a refresher. Thanks again. 😁
Love it!! So glad I can be helpful!
The right side jack is for controlling any chosen parameter, not just the tempo (there’s already a foot switch for that). You have to open the pedal to do that; this is in the manual, so maybe read your manual to find out how. 😊
Bought mine secondhand and there’s no Unicorn manual online. My question is, is there a way to change the shape of the vibrato, so it becomes a long, consistent pitch bend at low speed, and not just a sharp “meh” every few seconds?
@@andrewpearson1903The abrupt shape of that modulation wave is a defining characteristic of the Univibe sound. The original Univibe’s vibrato setting sounds like that as well. If you were to smooth that wave out into an even sine wave, the chorus setting would lack the characteristic “throbbing”, and just sound more like a phase shifter. If you want a straight vibrato effect that has an even modulation, your best option would be to just buy a vibrato pedal like the Boss VB-2 or one of its clones.
@@darwinsaye Thank you sir. I ended up getting an Earthquaker Aqueduct vibrato pedal, it's the only one I could find with the consistent sine pattern I was looking for. But the Unicorn is a fine pedal for the secondhand price point.
Thank you bro
No problem
this gets twinkly 😄
✨✨
Hey thanks for this saw maybe 50 videos and this and the mki vid really helped me understand the pedal more thank you
So glad to hear!! Thanks for letting me know. ☺️
nice ring mod tones coming thru 🤖👍
That’s from the analog BBD getting synced to the clock! Such a cool sound imo
I want to be you when I grow up
😂🤣
I knew you'd give up first! (jk, but when's this collab happening for real 👀 ) and this beat is great
lol not giving up!!! Just not sure I can post every day…I may try and do every other day or something. Who knows! 😅 Also I’m down to collab whenever you’re ready!
this made me feel nicely relaxed
Perfect!!
Just found your channel ... welcome to Jamuary! 😃I like guitar pedals too! 👍
Awesome! Welcome to the channel!
Cool device. Nicely played.
Thanks!
This rules so hard, my favorite one yet. The glitching is sweet! Definitely want a KO now 😭
Yeah the live punch in effects are seriously so much fun! And the stock sounds are honestly top tier.
This is rad, digging those chromatics. Glad I peer pressured you into this
lol I’m also glad you did
The song is in stereo but the video is in mono 😁
😮 oh man. You’re so right!!! 😂
Love this pedal on my bass. Sometimes I go with an octave up pedal before. Super fun. Great demo.
IMO Lehle's D.Loop SGoS does it better, because the ins and outs are TRS.
I’ll have to check that out! I haven’t heard of it before!
I'd really dig a comparison to the OP-1, but I'm also curious about how the KO workflow fits into a more traditional songwriting process. I like the idea of it a lot but I feel like I'd just fall into a trap of making nothing but beats with it, you know?
Yup! I have had the same thought! I was thinking of trying to make an ambient/instrumental song with it just for that reason! Try to push it out of the usual form and see how it goes.
Hello, I've also got a question about how to change the MIDI channel on my CBA pedals. I can't get it to work with Ableton. I know that I have to unplug and plug in again while holding both switches and then send Program Change. But I don't know how that works in Ableton... I have 4 CBA pedals and I would like them on different MIDI channels. But I can't figure it out.. I really hope you could help me out.
Not sure how to send PC’s via Ableton off the top of my head, but if you can figure that part out then you should be able to change it just by holding the foot switches while it power ups. It will then “listen” for whatever channel the next PC is sent on. Then whatever channel the PC is sent on is what midi channel the pedal will be on. Hope this helps if you haven’t figured it out already!!
okay thanks@@kevwyxin
Bravo great video!
Thanks!
Yeah mine had a ton of bubble wrap in an oversized box. No fader issues as of yet 🤞🏾
Interesting! That really makes me think it’s a shipping issue!
@@kevwyxin only thing is, how was it packed when it was sent to the distribution center? Mine came from Guitar Center 🎸 which they then packed and sent it to me.
Yeah that's a good point. I bought mine direct from TE so who knows what could happen with third party sellers!
Very helpful. Thank you!
