  I thought at minimum McDowell’s career was over after that last one. Even though he hit the wall head on (not at an awkward angle), 180+ is skull shattering speed. It’s a miracle he was even able to walk. The exceptional safety of the car and lord Jesus saved his life

  And not for a lack of trying, too! The whole reason the car flipped is because he yanked the wheel to the right so hard. If it didn’t flip, it would have gone right into traffic anyway.

  @hmsfan9 My buddy was working that day as the gas man for the 71 car Dave Marcus and he said he took his belts off during the Tony Stewart red flag crash and never tightened them back up!!
