Music is just another way to express what I can't put into words.
In a different context, S. I. Hayakawa stated that the word is not the thing. It's still valid here. Not thinking in words can be a curse in a world of people who think in words.

I listen to this while sipping on my beer. What if he just went for a red bull. Slither on, dear slug. I'm a new subscriber btw :)
Thanks for the sub!
Just goes to show that musical inspiration can come from the most random events! What a great track though, with some very tasty guitar playing!
thanks. I’m afraid I don’t have a guitar at hand right now though. It is all midi and samples in Logic
@@josephbalson Amazing!
I had to smile listening to this. You have crafted a great piece of music from such a silly concept.
that is only what it was supposed to achieve: make you smile 😊 thanks for listening
great
thanks for listening
josephbalson.bandcamp.com/album/colors 15th album released, available on Bandcamp first. The death of a brown dwarf star cast the landscape in a pale blue light, flickering weakly over the ruins of a once-vibrant city. Shades of lavender painted the sky, merging into the crimson dawn that heralded the end of time. Amidst the decay, a lone figure stood, dreaming of an orange that once grew in the lost green pastures now buried under layers of ash. The streets were silent, empty, save for a fleeting vision of the devil in a pink dress with polka dots, dancing through the shadows. The last remnants of humanity’s world faded into the white void, leaving only the spectral colors to tell the story of what once was. In the end, all that remained was the memories of Colors.

So much variety and yet it all hangs together beautifully, great work 👍
Thanks so much 😊
A very unique sound world 🙏
thank you. I should start working on the final version of this project soon.

Not what I expected at all but a very pleasant surprise. This genre certainly works for you.
Who would have known? I am actually enjoying composing this a lot. Just had to try I guess.
I might not be the best person to judge country music since I only really listened to it when I was married to my ex, but this sounds like country to me. You continue to surprise me. Good work.
thank you. It is very interesting to write music for a genre you never wrote for. This is not technically bluegrass simply because I made it entirely in Logic and there is no real vocal harmonies. I hope it sounds a little bit like it.
This changes the original vibe considerably but it was a good choice to slow it down and add the lyrics, which fit perfectly and make a very catchy song!
thanks :-) he original vibe didn't allow for any vocals, but I kept the temp, the key and tried to stuck to the idea.
@@josephbalson Cool. I didn't compare bpm - this one just sounded more laid back and I presumed slower...obviously not though. Great work!
final version on bandcamp: josephbalson.bandcamp.com/track/across-the-ocean
I enjoyed that - you have a great voice that really suits this genre!
Thank you. The vocals are heavily processed though
@@josephbalson No matter! They still sound great! 😄
This is awesome! Very nice. Congrats on writing such a great song.
Thanks for listening, I really appreciate

Well performed! Your(?) voice goes very well with the genre. 😃
Thank you. There only one of me, and two vocal tracks, I had to cheat a little bit ;-)
Really lovely work! It instantly threw me into a contemplative mood. Definitely a fan :)
Thank you very much, really appreciate

You have a mellow voice (depending on your alteration), and I like your indie folk detour in genre. 🤩
Thanks budy, really appreciate you saying.
Haha, that’s fantastic. What the heck is that show about?! 😂 I needed to check it out. And I still don’t understand. Joseph, you are really versatile, that’s great.
thank you. mate. It is a great show about great people. you should watch it :-)
Clever!!! Just for the title I give you many likes and sub!!! Keep loving music!!!! ❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵❤️🎵
Thank you so much!!
This is modern impressionism in music! The whole album will be like fresh air in the middle of a hot summer. Bravo, Joseph! 🤩
Wow, thank you!
Nice choice of sounds! Load of movement in that deep synth pad sound that punctuate the soft piano sound and lovely images, once again!
thank you so much. I really appreciate. Those 8 drafts took their toll on me.
Pretty in Pink and a suitably Mephistophelian piano!
thank you. the contrats with the piano and the synth is pretty extreme
"La terre est bleue comme une orange"...
parfois ;-)
Epic orange imagery with mouthwateringly juicy citrous synth sounds!
thanks for listening
So much variation in just under 5 minutes and you still glue it all together in an excellent way. Love it!
thank you so much for listening. I’m glad you like it.
The dark somber piano tone combined with the synthesizers and imagery make for quite an experience. I’m very much enjoying your latest works.
thank you my friend. I’m trying to do something slightly different.
Very nice track, love it!
Thank you for listening :-)
Seems like a whole spectrum may be evolving! Another great piece of music and lovely images!
Many thanks!
Lovely to have a new work from you Joseph. Particularly enjoyed the last piano section. Hope your recovering well 🙏
Thank you @geotony
What a surprise! What a new piece! I’ve left you a message on the ABF, so I won't repeat myself. I know it’s a draft, but it's a freakingly good one. Please keep working on it, but it’s already good as it is. 🤩
Thank you my friend
hi, im a pianist as well, and i found that our music comprehension might have similarities, thus i would like to interact, if possible?
of course
Niceee♥️❤

Stunning. My favorite of this project thus far.

This is another beautiful piece, everything culminates in 4:00-7:00 with a fantastic arrangement, and that flute play is borrowed right from heaven. Bravo!
Thank you so much
Break at 4:00 is so powerful, and after 5:40, it is like you ascend on this mountain till you finally climb up and experience the vastness and beauty of the site. This is your next epic project, no doubt about it. 🤩
thank you so much. This one is a little bit painful to work on. makes happy when someone gets the right images.

Moving and majestic. Part of me wishes I understood the vocals, part of me is content with the mystery. Beautiful imagery throughout.
thank you for listening. the mystery is all that matters in the end.
I listened to it yesterday, and now again, I think of it as two very good drafts in one piece, distinctively different from each other. It’s good to see you posting, the names of your later works left me pondering, haha. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for listening. I'll post another version later today. Forcing myself to do some work instead of sleeping 18hours a day.
@@josephbalsonI also listened to your last album, “Silent Departure,” two weeks ago, it's a fantastic accomplishment. Numbers 2, 3 and 4 are pure masterpieces. I have a bunch of notes and need a few more listens, then I will send you my experience. But, your albums are like living things, it’s rare occasion on the art scene, at least in my experience of listening. So I need a completely different approach and more time, but it's great fun and always time well spent.
I really appreciate
