  • @ArcticriderFPV

No just after market antennas, just make sure you have a functioning return to home/GPS rescue that you can activate in case of signal loss. Blocky video is also a nice indication for when signal is starting to fade, if you know the terrain well you can tell if you are flying too low behind trees or passing behind rocks/buildings.

I lost my first drone in a lake near my home about 100 meters out from the shoreline. Every time I go back for a walk that feeling of loss is as raw as it was on day one. As a long range pilot I expected to lose a drone every once in a while but it still hurt when it happened. A gps unit is a must for long range but not always helpful because it can serve as a “so close yet so far” reminder.

Look of old Kodak Tungsten 5219 film I used to work with.. Big grain but nice shadows. Great color grading! My thought is there is a fpv legend of shooting with low shutter speed to get lot of motion blur but the cost is all the frame details are also little bit out of sharpness caused just by relatively long exposure for such a speed and vibrations, nd filters sellers don't mention that, I belive 25 or 30fps with 1/50 shutter speed is a esthetical myth like bokeh hipe in photography but maybe I'm wrong, just thinking..

  • @ArcticriderFPV

Pregame? I mostly keep my drones and batteries inside the car before flight so Yeah they are kind of warm. Air would chill them down going up, but camera and electronics Also heat up internally when flying. There was rain/slush/snow up near the clouds that’s why the lens got covered. I don’t think any of it would help really. Either battery would be dead before I could get up there, or in case of the air tag it would need people with iPhones to pass by it (hoping that it is still attached to the drone) and even then no one goes up there where it fell down! Best thing would have been to have a gps-rescue capable drone that would have returned when signal was lost.
