I just bought the ET-8550. I installed the Epson Layout app and it runs fine. But when I launch PS and press File Automate, there is no Epson Layout Option. What did I do wrong?

Dano inspired my printing journey and love of epson and epson papers. I carry 8x10 prints folded to 1/4 size when shooting street. The expressions I get when someone holds cold press bright and feels the weight, texture and sees the colors is priceless. Just ordered a box of legacy fibre for my 3880 and a roll of legacy platine lives in my p7000. In studio, my shots are tack sharp, following Dano's recommendation of tripod or there rolling stand. Dano is present in much of my work, especially the prints. Thanks, Dano.
Many thanks for the very good tips on the Apple Cam app, some of which I hadn't really noticed as I mostly use the ProCamera app. I also often use the portrait mode of the Apple Cam app for objects. It's also very exciting what is possible with an IR filter and the iPhone :).
Earth is 100% a flat non-rotating topographical plane. Love it!! Wake up globers
Alan gave me the opportunity to spend three days with him in his darkroom printing my negatives, I can't thank him enough. He is a generous and wonderful human being. Hi, I am from uk and have been told it works on epson et8550 printer but when I download it I can't find it anywhere on my p.c. someone told me to download it from epson uk instead of epson usa but I can't find anywhere on the uk site to download it, any help please ?

I still must wonder what sent him running with his tail between his legs heading the largest NAVY ever he stopped in Chile and told the press something flew so fast it could be in the North Pole in 15 minutes. Out of 3500 men he returned with 2800. This immediatly after WW2.
The water is flat.
By George I do believe it’s Flat. Water is the proof. We did some work for DOD. The floor was to be perfectly level for a main frame to sit on 4’ of Concrete poured in layers with 12” of mild steel on top of the concrete then milled to .003. Pad was 300’ x 100’. The first major leveling after laying sand and pouring concrete water was used to determine level. No we were never allowed to see the Gizmo that was set on the form. The last part was boring.
If you would research it you would find that level and flat are not the same thing.
There are completely different settings available when you choose roll paper, and try Gallery Wraps etc. I wish they'd been covered too.

The XF is NOT a rangefinder, but a DSLR. Research is apparently is not your thing.

First, I am not a lawyer, nor do I play one on television. There was a lot of discussion about street photography, permissions, etc. IN CANADA, a person's right to privacy supercedes a person's right to make an image. In other words, no, you do NOT have an automatic right to take someone's image without their permission, and if you do they CAN sue you. NB: This has nothing to do with model releases, image use, etc. The violation occurs at the moment you click the shutter, and was decided by a Supreme Court after a photographer made an image of a young woman sitting on a concrete step. This is something that can only be decided by the courts, and there are of course parameters to this. IF you're participating in the Naked Bicycle Parade, you've obviously forsaken your right to privacy. Ditto if you're at a public event. Basically, if you're making an image of a scene - a restaurant patio for example, you'd be fine. However, if you use your 3-600mm lens to photograph a couple having a quiet moment in the back corner, you've violated their privacy and broken the law.
Someone I know who makes images for a newspaper - where candid images are important - has a policy where he will make the image THEN go up to the person, introduce himself and ask if he can use the image. If the person says no, he deletes it then and there.

A lot of folks are saying you need atmospheric refraction to explain these shots. Well without knowing the exact height of the camera and location it's hard to be precise, but: The buildings are part hidden by the surface of the water (check a near shot of the Chicago skyline if you doubt that). Do we see too much of them? Well we can work it out: Chicago has 50 or so buildings taller than 180 meters. Indiana dunes national park's near end is about 46 km (28 miles) from central Chicago, its far end is 59km, (35 miles). The shots are, from the looks of the set up shown at 0:59, being taken about 6 meters (20 feet) off the lake surface.
...so, doing the maths, from the near end of the park about 110 meters of the building should be hidden by the lake surface. From the far end about 200 meters should be hidden. Using Willis tower (visible mid left at 1: 53) as a reference around 100 t0 130 meters is missing. So, while we can't be super precise without knowing the exact height of the camera and the exact spot in the park they were taken from, the skyline looks at least very close to how it should with the expected curve - and it certainly looks nothing like flat.
If maths is not your thing, omnicalculator site has a good Earth-curve and horizon calculator, that lets you account for the effects of viewer height.

@@user-is2vy7ou4d Atmospheric refraction can change what you see. But I've done 5 years of comparison shots of this same effect, as it is seen looking along at headlands along the river Forth estuary, which is near me, and there's actually not much variation even over years. You do get mirages - reflected images, or squashing - but you can tell it's a mirage, and if you photograph it and (where its just stretched or squashed) digitally remove the distortion, the 'hull down' effect is still there beneath, hiding the exact same features. So it's actually quite stable, and from what I've seen atmospheric refraction really altering how much it hides is quite rare.
@@user-is2vy7ou4d That's true in principle, but I've done comparison shots of the same effect over some years, looking at headlands along the estuary of the river Forth near me, and while you do get occasional mirages, atmospheric refraction actually changing how much the 'hull down effect' hides seems to be very rare.
A very thorough and helpful video. Thank you for posting. However, I think there should be some mention of the vulnerability of the cartridge covers falling open by accident. It is noticeable from the video that shutting the cartridge covers took two attempts and it is easy for them to fall open during the initialisation phase if they are not fully secure. Interruption of the initialisation process can cause many problems so it is worth keeping a couple of pieces of that 'blue tape' to ensure that the cartridge covers stay closed.

Yes in advanced Black and White mode you can save a tone preset. Took me a while to find it. Very handy.
My sizes don't include 11 x 14 and when I try to add a custom size it won't allow me to add anything larger than 8.5. Any tips?

You can still see the buildings of Chicago after the sun goes down with lights lit up with electricity. It is not a mirage. Earth is flat. If we were to graph a cross-section of the earth, life-size, with our location at the origin and the center below us on the y axis, the center would be at about -4000 miles, or -21,120,000 feet, or 253,440,000 inches, on the y-axis. I'm not able to use the Epson Print layout on my laptop with my ET8550. It doesn't find the printer 😢
If you are on a Mac, this happens because macOS sets the printer up as Air Printer. If that's the case, uninstall the printer in the System Settings. Next, add it again, but instead of selecting the printer that it suggests, click on Select Software and manually select ET-8550 from the list. After that it should work. You should not see "AirPrinter" in the model. But if you're on Windows I have no clue.
For anyone who carries the 100-400 in a messenger type bag, do you have bag recommendations? Thanks in advance.
I have an iPhone 14 Pro Max try so many time to connect to the printer. It’s all connected, but will not print.
After Joshua Nowiki photo in 2015 the local news weatherman wrote this off as a mirage. Two weeks later the conditions were the same and someone did a private charter from the dunes location and did a non stop video with city in focus the entire trip and it never refracted nor was it a mirage, they went 51 .miles towards the city as it's about 53 miles from this location. It's flat

@@Mitchell-lc5kj i refer you to he very video we're discussing: it has only images of a lake surface that is acting like it's curved - skyscrapers looking like they're standing in around 100 meters of water., Appearing more deeply hidden from nearer the lake surface, and getting more revealed as the viewpoint climbs (as per endless other vids and images of Chicago from Indiana Dunes park). And consistent across years of time. If it acts like it's curved, we need to make use of the 'curved surface model' to actually do anything on it or help anyone see anything across it - you are welcome to hold the effect to be an illusion, but if you simply deny it's happening you can't help anyone. But i suppose that's not my lookout, so the last word is yours if you want it. I'm happy to let my comments and the video stand.

If you compare those shots with shots of the Chicago skyline from the same direction but up close you can see right away that about 100 meters of the buildings are hidden behind the water, like you're looking over a big bulge or wave in it. That ain't the behaviour of a flat surface folks.
