Hey bro, I just posted a video of a 7lb. 7oz. pre-spawn MONSTER a good friend of mine caught back in the day out of Black Pond which is the small pond that connects into Snipatuit. Being a fisherman who enjoys fishin' some of the same ponds as me I think you will ENJOY it.
Unrelated, have you had to tighten up your rudder since buying? The shop I bought mine from set mine up but I've noticed it's loosened a bit and sloppy now. Maybe you could do a short video on tightening the rudder after break in?
No I haven’t had to tighten it up. I’ll take a look though
Does your sonar have side imaging? I’m a little concerned you are so high that you can’t go out sideways as much without the hull interfering. This would be more evident in shallow water. Look at some videos where bass boat motors block one direction of side imaging so you’ll know what to look for. If you see shadows on the outer edge the hull is probably in the way and you’ll need to lower it some so it can see sideways better. Good luck and thanks fore the content.
@@topfarrier1507 no problem. I’m not really a huge side scan user so I can’t notice a difference before or after this mount. I’ll keep an eye on it tho.
Thank you for sharing this install I have to say you’re definitely turning your kayak into the complete efficient tournament kayak it just keeps getting better and better! Tight lines
So there is a spacer that goes with the mount that moves the transducer level with the bottom of the hull. My titan x build is almost done. I used that mount with the spacer
Just did mine, going out sunday
I never received a spacer.
@@UntamedOutdoorsmen its a separate item.
what about side scan will you lose that?
I haven’t noticed a huge difference but I’m not a big side scan user
Can you provide the links for purchase?
Yes I’ll add it in the description of the video. I must have forgot
I bought the same one. It’s a great mount and definitely puts the transducer out of harms way. However if you have side scan, it probably will not work. I went out once after install and couldn’t get side scan to work.
Yeah, I’m not really huge on side scan anyway I prefer traditional and clearvu 2d with my maps. I’ll have to take another look at side scan but I didn’t notice a huge difference from the old mount to this one. Could be just me tho
Hey bro, I think it's really AWESOME that you started fishin' tournaments. I wish you NOTHING but the best, those experiences will DEFINATELY SHARPEN your skills. On another note, I captured an INCREDIBLE BIG bass explosion on a frog the other day. As a fellow fisherman I think you will APPRECIATE it, WOW!!! Watching in slow-motion is CRAZY, enjoy.
As someone who also has to deal with toothy pike, wondering if you use steel leaders or always tie direct and risk your line getting cut?
Always tie direct. It affects the presentation of the bait and it doesn’t happen enough to consider a change.
Hey everybody, so that front neon green ratchet strap should work fine if you’re already doing it this way (just don’t over tighten it). But I actually swapped it for a cam strap with hooks on the end after making this video. Thanks for watching!
Should have put him on the board for a measurement 😂😂
You should sell that kayak to Pete and get the new bonafide xtr 130, and make a build series, that is a new kayak dropping in September That is a crazy kayak and cheaper for most people
@@Jordanoutdoors_gaming I’m not getting rid of this yak. But Pete may already be looking into this🤫
Just wondering, did you upgrade your 133x to another kayak?
@@wjsoc yes native titan x 12.5
What?! I have to use a 12' gig for frogs here in Flarda!😂
Can you make a video about what type and what pound line you and Pete use for all your combos
@@Jordanoutdoors_gaming so once a year we go through every rod a reel combo we have in a video. Next time we do it we’ll be sure to include the line we use. Thanks for the suggestion! If you have a question on one or two combos just ask
Thanks and yea I was watching that video you made recently and you have some nice combos and I’m thinking about getting the titan x 12.5 myself
What line do you use on your crankbait setup and your swim bait setup?
I know you already bought your new kayak, but what didn't you like about the Kakus?
@@RustySprocket are you talking about this kayak? I didn’t love the hull. It just didn’t feel like it was built for the long haul. It’s more designed for someone that’s getting started with more advanced kayak fishing and if they enjoy it then upgrade to something more built to last. I also felt like a lot of this kayaks space went to waste, like there’s plenty of room and it’s a very long and wide boat, but it doesn’t take very good advantage of all that room.
@@UntamedOutdoorsmen No. Talking about Kaku kayaks. Why go with the native over the Kaku?
@@RustySprocket oh. Honestly never even was in consideration or crossed my mind to get a kaku kayak. It was between the titan x and the old town autopilots. Sorry.
Still use closed cell foam.
Ok
OUCH, always sucks losing a quality fish, ESPECIALLY in a tournament. As soon as you said TANK, it came off. SHHHHHH next time, don't JINX it, get it in the boat first.
Manufacturer uses foam on the inside to stop flex. Do not use expandable foam lol. You can use large pool noodels to reinforced the hull.
@@YakSquad like I said in the video if someone is adamant on using spray foam used closed cell but we still don’t recommend it because of how permanent it is.
Boone dox landing gear.
@YakSquad I do not recommend doing that. That would rip right out of this boat, the hull and tracks are no where near strong enough for landing gear. The hulls that are landing gear compatible are significantly thicker and have long and thick steel tracks screwed in with large stainless screws into brass inserts to handle and spread the weight. If you install landing gear into the hull of this kayak it’ll most likely rip through your hull on the first use. The only way you could conceivably install landing gear is to install steel plates on the inside of the hull to screw the landing gear into. But even then it’s not worth the hassle when a cart is available. Native watercraft’s, bonafides, etc are landing gear compatible for a reason. They built them from the ground up for landing gear and have the hull strength/tracks to handle that weight and strain.
Boonedox does have steel plates. I put many on kayaks that were 200lb. Look at my native titan that I did at the shop. Remember it is not a wheel barrow so roll it to the water then put battery etc in the kayak. Not sure how thick it is the boat of course but it will be fine. I have used bait board before on the inside to spread the wait also. Go on yak squad .
Look up native titan mini skiff.
Great job sir thank you for sharing your tournament day with us you made done great catches today sir you did awesome
Thank you for sharing!!!!
Love you build. I have the same kayak and have been doing similar upgrades. I have a bow mount trolling motor deing delivered, with it being a bow mou t and the transducer being at the bow, is there any interference from the prop with imaging on your monitor?
@@RichardWaterhouse-c9p little bit but not bad
I'm thinking about the New Garmin EchoMap UHD 10 inch, for my 12.5-X Titan, but don't know if the transducer will fit (it comes with the new #56 size transducer, which is longer...!). Haven't found any "specs." on the length needed to mount, so I haven't bought the Garmin yet...! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys, and you have a Nicely Set-Up 'Yak...!
@@MSmith-jf5wo this transducer fit with plenty of room to spare. I don’t see why it wouldn’t fit.
The screws you use for installation are S/S Screws (stainless steel 10-24 Fillister Head Screws, available from Amazon, in different lengths!)..The are used in Multiple places on Native Watercraft 'Yaks...!
Hello, I dont want to bring up old memories ( Ascend 133X) but my question is what size plates did you purchase to replace the plates on the Ascend? Also i understand that they are seaflo and did they come with rubber gaskets? I am looking to fix some of the leakage issues as you mentioned. But i am going on your advice and get a Native Titan X. Thx again great builds you are doing Cliff
No worries. We have a few videos talking about this but they're 4in deck plates. And no they did not come with gaskets, we reused the old gaskets but I would add some RTV instead.
Thx again appreciate the info
thanks again; I compared the one you used to the one I previously installed that didn't work and yours has different bulb design so i'm ordering it and trying again. the one i previously used prevented the titan oem seal from making contact and actually made the leak worse so i'm excited to try this one. The other thing i've considered is the possibility of replacing the bungee straps with something stronger that would pull the hatch down harder. THANKS!!!
i noticed my scupper plugs also leak sometimes at higher speed.... any ideas for that? My deck is below the water line so the self draining hack doesn't work for me. I noticed the leak on the first outing so they weren't dirty.
Native now makes a scupper that fits under the hatch for this…check their site. Of course that’s usable only if you’re not using the Propel drive.
You should contact Native support and share that idea with them. Good Information.
The problem is that they using repro plastic in the good resin mix. In the mold process of the kayak . Resulting in this cracking do the impurity in the quality of the plastic Really sad to see this in such a comfortable kayak design. Thanks so much for your honest reviews and the time you spend doing content !! Keep it going Brother 🍀
Nice work, but you guys have to invest in a step bit. Game changer!
We’re good with the drill bits we actually prefer them. Thanks for watching
Awesome channel!!! Tons of ideas and tips!! Looking at buying a new (2022) 133x that has only been in water 1 time. What size inner tubes were you looking at for those trouble areas?
To be honest I don’t even remember. There’s a Facebook group called Accend 133x owners. Join that and look up inner tubes in the group. People talked about the size.
My only concern as you noted is trying to get that off if and when it eventually wears down is going to be really difficult.
Yeah I’ve removed things applied with this goop before. It was difficult but not impossible just takes patience. Seems to be holding up significantly better than the other keel guard though
Whats the top speed with your 45# thrust motor on the 133?
I topped out at around 3.75 in perfect conditions
So I just got mine and set everything up, but apparently it is not firing. I also checked with the trigger and took of the safety and no fire. Any tips to help a brother out?
@@HonoraryTemplar personally we’re not familiar enough with these to start diagnosing problems. We planned to make more videos with these but that never really planned out. Sorry man.
@@UntamedOutdoorsmen it’s alright thx though
Thanks for sharing your day on the lake really nice video and done great bass catches! Yes sir I applaud you on making the right decision immediately to remove yourself from the water when first hearing the lightning! I can’t enjoy your videos if something serious would have happen to you guys! Tight lines take care and God bless.
Where u at this time?
Stafford pond tiverton ri. Was worth the drive for me lol
Great video guys…question….my understanding is when running battery wire for extended distances you need to use 8-10 gauge wire. I realize that your distance is not that long but the YakPower wire seems to be under rated. Do you feel it is okay?
@@cutley2b more than fine. The only time you need wire that large on a kayak is for a trolling motor. You never want to run a trolling motor off of this yakpower unit. This is used for light duty stuff like fish finders or lights. No heavy amps are being used. Running 8-10 ga wire when going a distance is not a universal rule.
The installation is pretty clean. Has anyone installed them with the 1/2" hole opposite of how you did it? That would keep all that extra wire off the hatch lid?
@@TheClayCoKid the 1/2” hole would be too big for that area of the bow hatch.
So, instead of cutting the whole grip off, why not just cut off as much as needed to mount the loc and load? Sorry, I know it’s just a handle and I doubt a side would be used much but seemed a bit aggressive. One last thing, since you’re doing a lot of this stuff, I’d highly recommend a couple sizes of step bits. Nice job otherwise.
Cutting half the handle would look worse than just cutting the whole handle. We’re good with the entire drill bit kit.
Maybe show the battery more next time?
@@KingAlkazar doesn’t really add anything to this video by having it in?
How easy is this thing to paddle if you dont want to put a trolling motor on it?
@@neeleywoods3149 if you don’t want to use a motor I’d probably recommend going with the ascend 128x. This thing is not easy to paddle consistently

I just found your channel. That kayak looks great. I especially like that the surfaces are all mostly flat; that makes it much easier to mount accessories. Usually, most kayaks have several curves to deal with; that's always problematic. I may have missed it but how is the stability? Do you think the v-hull on this model is just as stable as a tri-hull design? Have you been in any rougher water... any two-foot waves with wind? I like the looks of this rig a lot. I've been looking for a few months and this one might be the one. Thank you for posting this. Subscribed.
Stability’s great. Haven’t been in any crazy waves like you described but I have been in rougher water and it handles it pretty well. Thanks!
I couldn’t wait for the berleypro as the sand in Florida was tearing up the bottom of my yak. So I ended up making my own out of kydex and glad I did because the berleypro doesn’t go back as far as I needed
Another good video guys. Question…do you have the link to the guard for the Titan X? If you go in Amazon, it lists the Titan 12 NOT the X. If you go on Burleys site, they list the X but the sku #’s are different than on Amazon. Want to make sure I get the correct one. BP410213 - Amazon Titan 12 BP410216 - Burley Titan 12.5 X
I bought it directly from BerleyPro. I don’t think it’s on Amazon yet
