I’ve never driven this but I saw a post on ig giving advice about it. Skimming thru this video. It doesn’t look bad. Imo driving up Angeles crest hwy was scary bc one wrong turn and you’re done. Even up Azusa canyon and GMR are kinda sketch. This kinda looks like a flat road for the most part but idk. Anyone wanna educate me on why people giving advice?

It's an interesting drive. I think people give advice to follow the road signs just for safety precautions.

Drove this at 2am in the rain. Very Dark and kinda scary. I had to go from Ridgecrest to Bakersfield to catch a 5am flight. Was my first time on this road. Thanks for the video. I never got to see any of the scenery. Too dark.

This was the strangest video...no commentary, loud wind noises the whole time, and starting in Keaau, not Hilo...then a bizarre route that somehow managed to miss some of the nicer places by mere seconds. Why didn't you drive through Banyan Drive to Coconut Island and the seawall drive next to Lilouokalani Park? Or Rainbow Falls? You were so close to each of them, but missed them! Finally, running stop signs and other road infractions all documented... insane!

@@claramoyon8817 you are having a problem reading, or comprehending, or both...I said " drive through Banyan TO THE SEA WALL, COCONUT ISLAND AND LILIUOKALANI PARK" . They did drive past Reeds Bay Beach twice after turning around at the hotel INSTEAD OF GOING THROUGH, as I said. No effort, no itinerary, 30 minutes of wind noise...stupid.

I live in Hilo so I know full well where Banyan is located... which is why I know what was omitted. You can't seriously argue that listening to wind noise in any way is appealing. Just overdub with some damn ukulele music or something if you are not going to narrate!

Absolutely loved this drive. It started down pouring as soon as we came out of the Needle’s Eye tunnel and MJ sister and I had a very slow drive back to Keystone.

From Bakersfield you can go highway 65, then go 155 but that is too far! It's not really that treacherous if you're careful. It's a fun and interesting drive!

When this is your commute it becomes muscle memory and anything slower than 60mph is torture. Thank you for using the turnouts! If you was a really exciting drive I recommend the Lions Trail. Caliente Bodfish road. That one is treacherous.

Thankfully there are turnouts where you can stop to breath and collect your wits before proceeding 😁it's an exciting drive though

Us locals actually love it. If you aren’t familiar or are scared, take it slow and use turn outs. Our locals tend to be road bullies so dont let people intimidate you into going faster, take your time. :)
