Hi 😇 Doesn’t the device needs a measuring microphone? None video is showing a setup with microphone. So how does the measurements work ? Greetings Matthias
It's electrically connected to the speakers' terminals, not acoustical measurements. Then it becomes a sound card shown on your computer.

This is a very bad comparison, the original system sounds way better, the upgrade is brittle and noisy and no fullnes in mids also the highs are bad, probably due to recording but still a bad take....
Ok in the electronic music it sounds better but still mids are not even present, there should be some mids
It's like saying living in a cave is better than in an apartment on the 5th floor because you have an easier access to it. Of course the DSP can adjust the mids up too however what you can't here unless using headphones is there is no bass under 60Hz on the factory whereas with Match, the sub provides it down to 35Hz or so. As a result the speakers don't need to struggle and rattle in the desperate need for any bass reproduction in higher volumes. The brightness-mids settings is then absolutely customisable and can stay the same for all the system cares. But this whole exercise wasn't focused on that difference but rather on the whole picture. Unfortunately not sitting in the vehicle is probably the main reason why it can't be heard as a no-brainier winner over the original - I must agree with that part
@@soundtech7989 I understand everything you wrote and its true, as said when you do these demos you HAVE TO HAVE A SOLID RECORDING SETUP
Where did you get the tweeter pods? Any reason you did not remove the foam where the rear speakers are(the white stuff on the trim)
The tweeter pods are originals, just drilled through. The white stuff was left behind as the customer said was going to go camping/offroading and wished to keep it more protected otherwise yeah, better to remove it.
how much sir
Tuning definitely makea a difference, even with simple tuning (e.g. 5-6 band) on headunit. The bigger question would be, how much difference in terms of sound between different brands? The prices of DSP can differ a lot, sometimes the much cheaper ones offer even more features. One shop tuner I spoked too swears by Helix and claims it will sound way better, but how can we verify it unless one has comparison of swapping dsp in the same car with the same setup? Tuning alone makes the big difference, but how much difference would different brand of dsp make? Is it drastic or even actually noticeable for average listeners?
I’d love to see a 2 sub set up
Could you upload videos of replacing the speakers? cheers
The door speaker sir. What inchs are the size sir? Thx u
I see that you stayed with the original Mazda system that comes with the vehicle. Are you using a hi-level connection into the DSP? Is there a way to get better quality sound with the original system in order to connect to the optical port on the DSP?
any idea if this fits in the facelift model with the mild hybrid battery?
does this fit in the newer facelift model with the mild hybrid battery?

Hey, an Australian from Victoria here! I like this set-up because it takes minimal cargo space for my 1st-gen BRZ tS? Would like a quote as to the price for this exact upgrade but for the first gen!
Hi I am from South Africa I drive a 2019 model vw amarok double cab,I would like to find out how I can go about ordering the same head unit as in this video.
please send us the enquiry to [email protected] with your delivery address details to get the quote, thank you
Wtf sort of video is that?
What sort of a nickname is that?
@soundtech7989 i respect you all works
What mic are you using?
no mic used here, it's tested via the electrical signal in the input signal wires
@@soundtech7989 What do you mean by that? You've got the high level inputs on the Matchup 10 connected to the laptop??
@@PbcMr I am not sure if we're talking about the same thing. What you're looking at is not RTA measurement, it's an electrical signal measurement in the IO section. We use an Audiocotrol microphone to show the RTA reading on a separate device, but that's not the part of this video so I naturally did not assume the question was directed to that. For this test, you use 2 of any of the Tesla inputs going through the UP10 and put them 50/50 together in the input signal analyser to test that the polarity is not flipped. The reading on the PC DSP-Tool input analyser will either show a curve (polarity not flipped) or no curve (polarity flipped). You must used correlated pink noise there. But there are still exceptions to this test so only take it as an extra indicative tool, not a 100% proven method.
I guess the question is, how are you getting the signal from the PC to the Tesla’s head unit or Match Up?
@@PbcMr The standard way, you play the pink noise from your phone Iike a normal song via Bluetooth to the car haha.
Does the volume control knob on the head unit still work?
Hello. Yes it does, it may not be too obvious from the video but everything works exactly the same, just better with a new amp. Ideally to use MATCH UP 8DSP / MATCH UP 10DSP.
Love the outro.
Is it just turning the eq tune on and off?
How much would all of this run me?
That song sliding lol
Whatever the FM transmitted, the head unit played back...
Траурка. Нащо вам Траурка?
Nevime co to znamena, neumime cist takovehle znaky.
Very nice, thanks for the video. The match up 10dsp, drives the subs too ?
Hi mate, yeah of course that's the whole point, it runs it all and also has an extra DSP tuned RCA out for an additional mono amp if installed.
how much did that cost. i have the same car and would like to install the same set up
Had a similar question
How did you connected this dsp to cars stock audio instalation? Aditional harness or via hi-input?
Does this G42 2 series coupe use the same audio hardware as the G20/G22 3/4 series cars?
There might be slight differences such as the rear speaker type / location but other than that it should be identical. The G generation of BMW with the Harman Kardon comes with 2 amps: 1. all speakers amp + 2. the two floor subs amp. So far, all the G gen BMWs we've worked on have had this exact layout.
@@soundtech7989 Thanks! The RAM output is not flat I’m guessing? If so, that sucks. I miss the MOST output.
@@chrisbradley3224 No it's not hence the DSP is a must here.
That looks amazing. I‘d like to do the same with my BMW X1 with harman kardon. Is there afterwords not problem with system sounds like turn indicators, pdc, asd..? I‘ve read about such things.
that Helix DAC AMP is sooooo good i love mine
Nice ❤ sir
What amp was the sub attached to? Was the amp for the sub also in the trunk storage space? Was there already an amp in the trunk connected to the sub?
Hey! thatnk you for the video! im looking into buying one. so, just to confirm... did you just connect the original car amp cables to the DSP and you were all set for both input and output from the DSP? you didnt have to rewire the speakers from the dsp? didnt have to connect the battery to the dsp? if so.... thats fkn sweet.
yes, just that and dosens of other things, it's not that simple. It depends on the car model / system version and many things can vary between instllations. It can't be really explaind via KZread comments unfortunatelly.
thank you for the reply! have a nice day@@soundtech7989
Very nice! Can you tell me, what I need for adding a active subwoofer to the Mini with HK Soundsystem? I have the Rockford Fosgate P300-12
Hi-low converter, possibly an ASD module bypass, tools and lots of skills that can't be gained via KZread comments
Is the sound flat? Thinking of doing a good flat soundsystem in my -18 hilux
Usully always flat before the colouration, it all depends on the customer's needs / prefrrences
Donde compro el cajón para el Subwoofer. Por favor
Hi, we do not speak Spanish here as it's suggested by the video language. If you want the box you can purchase it from us here soundtech.shopping/search?q=basser%20amarok
Love my Match complete plug and play in my 5 series BMW!
Thanks for this. Where did you get that tool?
As mentioned in the video, it's just a plain steel thick rod you get at any hardware store, bend it and cut it with a jigsaw on a sharp angle and you have it.
Picked up mine 2 days ago from the dealer. Haven't seen those bass speakers.
Which bass speakers are you referring to? There is factory sub integratd in the dashboard but the spare wheel subwoofer is our aftermarket addition you can buy separately.
The ones in the dashboard. Found a picture from a mazda 3, but still had no time to inspect it properly. I'm thinking to upgrade the stock stereo with a dsp amp, after market speakers and separate sub and amp plus sound deadening. The speakers are certainly better than some other stock speakers but I was used to morel 6,5" active set and a sundown 15".
This is a pointless comparison because the sources are not level matched
It doesn't switch the source here, only the EQ of the same source.
Very nice
I thought for sure that this would be the template for one of these in pvc
Is that an upgraded stereo system too of so where can I find it?

JL Audio C7, Audison Thesis which one is closest sounding to the high end systems of Burmesters 3D and Bower & Wilkins. Or even better sounding than those with any other brand? Also what kind of sub would u pair with it for car like Audi Q3 - sealed/ported, wattage?
Hi mate. There is no correlation between the high end systems and things such as Burmester or B/W. They may be less worse than factory stock standard but it's still rather basic when it comes to SQ. Similar to say a school uniform, they provide all the basic needs but even on a premium college it's still a basic clothing for the crowds (H/K, B/W, Bose, Burmester etc are for crowds). When you speak about C7 or Thesis, that's the high end stuff such as Rollex, Prada, Versace etc. They have much better style, materials, design but mostly the performance, acoustical precision, stability across the volume and frequency range and much more. And there are much higher choices still such as the BRAX Matrix or Focal Utopia. All the above has been just a speaker selection so far which has nothing to do with what you call a 3D sound (surround sound). That is nothing else but mathematically generated signal differences in a DSP (in the factory amp or head unit) that makes the satellite speakers / midranges playing different frequencies and, most importantly, at different delays creating an echo making the car environment feel as if a larger space. That is just a simple signal distortion to the clean 2ch audio recoding that you stream. (Distortion = any kind of playback difference to the original track). A sub selection discussion goes far beyond what this comment can provide so best to watch some other KZread videos for explanation. I hope it helps you to understand things better.
@@soundtech7989 thanks for explaining. I totally forgot to mention focal utopia.
About is I have Bose system, can I put DSP?
Not DSP as is but a DSP Amp yes, you will need to reamplify all that you take from the BOSE amp. You cannot put a DSP between OEM Head unit and BOSE as that's CanBus controlled so your only option is to use the Bose high level outputs (unless there is a Canbus to RCA converter available such as iDatalink Maestro AR wich as of now it's still is not to our knowledge). With BOSE howeveer, you should have access to the custom EQ settings which is quite nice for a factory setup and you can significantly uptune the system there.
What Amp
MATCH M 5.4 DSP or UP 8 DSP
Ho avuto l’’impianto Harman Kardon sulla mia Mercedes nel 2005…e devo dire che era una 💣
not even close to being worth it.
The owner was of a totally different opinion which is what matters.
@@soundtech7989 still a complete waste for basically nothing.
you clearly have not heard a system like this. I have Focal speakers and this DAC AMP with a 12" JL Audio sub. it's absolutely pristine sound quality.
@@enkrypt3d again, not even worth it.
@@executiveinvestments it literally is though if you've heard what it sounds like. to me it sounds like you haven't heard this level of sound quality. and it's not even that expensive...

And the car never rode creakless and squeakless again after taking all the interior out and putting it back in.
We recognize that from an outsider's perspective, certain tasks might seem daunting or implausible, much like how for instance reversing a semi-trailer appears to the untrained eye as an impossible mission. However, as experienced professionals, we ensure that our work, including installations, is executed without any adverse effects such as door squeaking etc. Any clip that might get broken up on the door removal gets replaced with a new matching factory clip which we have at our disposal.
How much did all this cost, I’m so interested in getting mine done exactly like this?
