Usually only commercial waste vehicles are allowed access to landfills , and there is a separate location for people to drop off stuff themselves such as bulk items that garbage trucks won't take , landfill operators won't allow people to just walk in or drive their vehicle into the landfill because of the hazardous conditions with garbage trucks moving around unloading and trash packing dozers moving everywhere.

The worst is that one asshole who sees you pulling off to the side with your hazards on and insists on waiting behind you despite waving them on and all the other clear signals of “hey I’m pulling over, go around me!”
