I have multitronic, my car is broken now
What do you mean?
I have a 2024 S5, and the user manual says clear as day that launch control is for "RS models only". I've still tried the procedure, and it launches REALLY fast, but I'm very worried that we're totally fucking our torque converters by doing this, because the S5 does NOT have launch control, there has never been an S5 with a tiptronic transmission that had launch control.
I didn't know that.. In my user manual they wrote that cars with Stronic transmission have Launch control, and there is described process on how to do it, like I did in video. Do you get same time results with doing launch control and with just smashing the gas pedal from standstill?
Does the 2018 s5 premium plus have the ambient lighting also?
As far as I know it should have it. But be sure to check the list of optional equipment, it has to be listed there.
Thank you very much. Very helpfull video 💪👌
You're welcome. Thanks for support 😁
your supposed to wait until full boost
Nope, you can't get full boost while stationary..
I don't think this is actually launch control. You just have a transmission with torque converter, which doesn't let the engine to fly away, but it let's you to rev it until around 3000 rpm. Proper launch control also opens the powertrain, and releases the clutch more quickly. You also did not turn the ESP off, and you did not get the launch control activation message on the dash, which also indicates that this was not a proper launch.
Torque converter has a bypass clutch wich can directly connect engine to the gearbox. It monitors engine speed and gearbox speed while providing torque multiplication and it is installed in more and more new cars, because of its efficiency and advantages over older transmissions. Another thing, in older versions of owner manual, in launch control description, there was instruction to set ESP to Sport. New manuals have instruction to put ESP to OFF. I tried launch control with sport and off multiple times, and I got 4.3 seconds regardless. Only newer RS models and R8 have a message that says "launch control programm activated" so this message doesn't exist on S5 B9 software. So this was a proper launch control and you should inform yourself a bit more before claiming something like this.
@@TNT_Creations the lock-up clutch usually gets closed only in 2nd or 3rd gear (typically for Audi), even in normal conditions. But even if it's fully open, the torque converter transfers the engine torque hydraulically, so opening up the powertrain only works if you open up also one clutch inside the transmission. All I'm saying is that you have no evidence here whether this was a proper launch control, or just a manual execution of that. In cars with DCT transmission, you get the powetrain open, and the engine speed in controlled state somewhere around 3-4000 RPM, and when you step off the brake, it slams the clutch very aggressively. And the difference is clear: here the car also wants to move when you are in standstill (you are transferring full-load torque at 3000 RPM) , but with proper launch control active, it opens the powertrain, so you don't actually need to hold the car with the brakes, therefore the brake pedal works more of like a switch, and full brake power is not necessarry. I tried also in a few VW-group vehicles. I think this is not a basic feature in S-models. You can execute it exactly the same way as with launch control installed, it basically doesn't make too much difference with a torque converter transmission, but without receiving any feedback from the instrument cluster that launch control has been actually activated, then I think this is at least highly questionable whether it was a proper "launch control" start, or just a start in sport mode from standstill.
@@imrebese5502 I get that DCT transmission is mechanically different and it works on another principle. Another thing, DSG transmission that has as you call it "real launch control" has a limit of possible launch controls (as I remember around 200) because of greater gearbox wear). On the other side torque converter has no limit on number of launch controls. In my oppinion that is a great advantage. Again, in Audi S5 B9 owners manual, there is a part called "Launch control function" with description of how to engage it. And its written that you pay attention on boost indicator, but there is no launch contorl engaged message simply because that message is not installed in software of B9 models. Starting from standstill by just smashing accelerator pedal will not give you time as fast as with following steps from manual. I tried it multiple times.
Hey I got an audi A3 2019 S tronic 150 hp. But it wont launch for some reason? I put it in Dynamic mode, Shift it in S, Foot on the brake, Steer straith, Start/stop off, and traction control off. It only gets up tot 1500 rpm and then it stops revving and I already feel that the car want to roll while my foot is still on the brake. Somebody knows it?
That sound strange. So it goes to 1500rpm and after that rpm starts to drop while you still hold your foot on pedal? One more thing, don't forget to turn off auto hold function if you have it in your car (next to parking brake button, it has lette A on it), because it messes with launch control.
@@TNT_Creations Yes I have it in my car but when I start the car it is standard off. I did some more research. Maybe you need to put the gasspedal all the way down fast when you want to rev up? So your car knows that you wanna launch the car? I found on the internet that some bmw owners had that problem and had to go instant full throttle before the launch. Don’t know if that is the same with Audi? I never launched any car before so I am quite new to this
@@gieljanlogchies8190 yes, try to press pedal all the way instantly, just smash it. So see if that works
@@TNT_Creations I tried it after work today when my engine was warm but it just holds it to about 1800 rpm for 1 sec and then stops the rev
@@gieljanlogchies8190 I rly don't know what could be the problem. It's normal that rpms drop when you try to smash it while in idle.. but when you are in drive or sport, rpms shold hold around 3000 while you hold pedal
Great video. Thank you!👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks man!
Thank you 😊 ❤ so much!!
You're welcome 😁 enjoy your day
Will this work on my audi q5 tfsi e 2023
As far as I know, your car has S tronic transmission so with that, you should be able to do it, because Audi manual says that cars with S tronic have launch control. Be sure to warm up the engine before you try it. Enjoy 😁
Thanks! that was $190 Australian Dollars here in Sydney
You are welcome! Avoid stealership when you can 😆
Well done! How did you do the camera work?
I used action camera on a baseball cap. There is a clip attachment and you can just pop it on and off easy
Would this work in A8 2015 3.0 TDI with 8 speed tiptronic ZF 8HP gearbox?
So your car has tiptronic transmission and I'm not sure if it has it. Because in Audi owners manual there is a section called Launch control where they say that cars with S-tronic transmission have it.
Can a5 b9.5 45tfsi do this? It's s-tronic.
Aa far as I know you should be able to do it if you follow the steps from vid. Also I checked in user manual, and it says that cars with S-tronic transmission have it.
I don't know why they make that adaptor so hard to take off 😑
So that dealership can charge us 110$ 😆

bro idk if i should get the turbocharger one or supercharger. ima just have to drive both and see which one i prefer ig
Supercharged S5 were until year 2017. After that they started putting turbocharger in B9 S5, and with that they increased torque. Not sure how those 2 compare soundwise
is this the supercharger one? if so what year
This is turbocharged one. Year 2017. That is 2018 in USA.
Can u do this on Audi a8 tDI Quattro?
Yup it should work. If you don't have boost indication, just hold it untill you reach 3500 rpm and then release brake
This is not the launch control because it did not appear in the written panel
If you check official Audi S5 owner manual, you can find section called Launch Control, and below it's described to do steps as I showed you. So this is indeed launch control.

Is there a drain bolt at the bottom if you don’t have the extractor? If you can drain from bottom, it will be a little harder but $70 cheaper.
Yup, you can reach it from below, its protected by panel. There are about 10 or so torx screws and two 13mm bolts that attach the panel to the car. When you remove that, you should easily see reach it.
What about manual gear?
First put your car in sport/dynamic, ESP off and after that push the clutch pedal all the way forward, then push your accelerator pedal all the way, wait for rpm to reach around 3500 and just put your foot off the clutch. Tell me if this works for you. Enjoy
Good job. Thank you for the instructional video👍 Beer break 👍😁
Thanks 😁 yup, always find few minutes for a beer break
Hey brother does your car have Tiptronic gearbox or S tronic. I have an s5 in Australia and not sure if it has launch control stock because I have tiptronic gearbox
Hi. It has tiptronic gearbox, torque converter. So your car should have launch control also
@@TNT_Creationsokay no worries brother I appreciate it. I have tried all the steps in the video not sure what I am doing but it just won’t work
@@TNT_Creationsalso sorry for late reply I don’t have notifications
@@killerpanda1166 hmmm interesting.. what year is your S5?

Why do you have a check engine light
I think it has something to do when hood is popped up. Nice spot
It’s because the car wasn’t on , every cars engine light is on when only the ignition is on.
👍👍
Do you have to vacuum pump the oil out or is there a pan underneath?
No pan needed, just extract it with pump, it's much easier and faster.
The socket is incorrect…. It’s way too big, are you sure this is correct? Or perhaps the link needs to be updated?
32 mm is correct size. I bought it just for oil change
@@TNT_Creations 32mm is correct but this link takes you to something different, not sure why.
@@eternal2k4 oh yeah, you are correct. It seems that seller changed the product on this link.. I'll change it and put correct one. Thanks for info 👍🏼
@@TNT_Creations you’re welcome
Do I have to buy the oil filter at Audi dealer? Or can I just buy it at local parts shop?
You can buy it at Audi and also online if you search for it by part number. As I remember I saw OEM filter on amazon or ebay
Just buy Mann Filter. That’s OEM.
bruh, i wish this could be a daily, but with 15l average combined fuel consumption its not.
In last 30 000km I have just over 11.5L average and that is mostly city drive. I use it as daily, and i think that this consumption is great if you take into account for all that car gives you
@@TNT_Creations interessting, I have an 2017 s3 sedan, and it's at 8.8l combined, a lot of city. Because in used car sales they aren't that far differentiated
@@TM-nk2du that'a a great consumption for S3 if it's combined driving. But it rly depends on driving style if you know what I mean

hey bro, how much did you pay for the car?
It was 48 000€ back in 2019 when it was 2 years old
I am thinking of buying the exact same model. Are u Happy with it? How is the fuel economy?
@@rapperfrosch4193 I'm very happy with it, it's above all expectations. Every drive is like adventure, and I still turn around and take another look when I park :) city drive is in range 10-12L/100km, highway is 9L or below if you drive around 150km/h. But it rly depends on your drive style and how heavy is your foot. Of course if you drive it in dynamic and race around town, you'll burn through tank much faster
Go OEM for a sharp look.
You are absolutely right. But here in Croatia the prices are ridiculous.. 130€ for lights
Did you changed the rocker arms ? Im planning to buy it soon and I saw a lot of videos in which this part is fragile, and they updatet it with a new one in 2019,
I didn't, but I heard that it could be a problem.. Do you know what is the price for that?
@@TNT_CreationsI’ve seen it quoted around $2000-4000 but I’ve also heard some Audi dealers won’t touch it unless it’s a problem. You just gotta watch out for the signs of the rockers failing
@@julianlamme8627 aaahh that's steep!! And what are the signs if you can tell me? I didn't check the details for it, just read that it might be a problem..
u cant not change the filtre oil completly ?
What do you mean?
If you mean the cap, no, that’s just for protection of the filter. No need to replace that. It’s probably expensive as well.
Unser S5 TDI hört sich auch schön an, aber das hier is natürlich ne ganz andere Hausnummer. Sehr geiler Sound. 😍
You can also activate the wiper service position by holding the stalk down (in the "pulse" position) for 2 seconds after you turn off the ignition, and it will automatically return the wipers to the park position when you start the car and put it in drive.
Didn't know that. Nice trick, thanks
Всегда нужно осматривать масленный фильтр на отфильтрованные фракции 👍 всего хорошего
The camera didn’t get how to put adapter on so I’m stumped
You can see it on 02:15. Just press it on until you hear click
In my opinion 5w40 better for the engine , because RS4/5 has specifications for this type of oil! I used it on my S4 b9 stage 2 and change every 7000 km.
Nice, didn't know that. Thanks for the info. But change every 7000km sounds little bit pricy
@@TNT_Creations if you drive dynamically and make launch starts, this is exactly the interval you need, when under load, the oil quickly loses its characteristics
@@Klymenko1927 yup, I get it. Always thought that 2 year interval is a bit long for a sports car
@@TNT_Creations man what should I say, I change my oil every 5000km LOL
@@darlin4818 oh man... are you taking it to a race track?

How do you manage 10.9 l/100 km fuel economy on this? I have the S4 b9 (same exact color combo like yours) and I can't drop below 14l/100km... Always fill in with the 100 octane fuel too
I drive it in economy mode most of the time for that numbers. But it rly depends on traffic situation in your city, cause sometimes durung rush hours my consumption is around 14L as well. But another thing might be that you have a bit heavier foot 😉
@@TNT_Creations dude, I hate economy mode, it's so boring. I prefer comfort mode when I doing a chill drive and I shift to dynamic mode when I want to have some fun
@@ivoiliev3957 actually I set the individual mode with sport sound and sport steering, other stuff is set to confort, and I use it while in the city with lots of traffic, but when I hit open road I go Dynamic 😁
@@TNT_Creations my favorite is crossing through the mountain passes around here in Dynamic, it's just so much fun. I live in Bulgaria where we have plenty of mountain roads and most of them actually have decent asphalt. When I drive on the highway I usually stay in Comfort or just Auto as it is not so much fun for me to drive fast plus it gets expensive with the speeding tickets, lol
