The NBA and NFL manipulate games,there's no doubt in my mind. On every play the ref can make some kind of judgemental foul from holding,to much contact,hand checking,push off....etc. It's just the nature of the game that allows the league to be able to manipulate games and keep them close or to give a certain team or star player an advantage. The NFL especially just wants games to be close and exciting especially the Superbowl and for it to come down to the wire the final drive. The NBA is a star driven league that wants certain stars and teams to do well,Thats why Jordan got all the calls when he played and the Bulls. The refs can control/manipulate the momentum of a game and have it come down to the wire for an exciting last minute finish. Sometimes they might not manipulate games and sometimes they definitely do.

It was just a badly officiated series overall. It was never rigged for either team. It was just corrupt refs exerting their influence for a horrible degree. Haters want to pretend like games today are rigged, but the early 2000’s was just a dirty officiating era, and the Donaghy scandal was the culmination of that. Nowadays, officiating isn’t nearly as bad, and the “Rigged” accusations are more just lame excuses fans make to justify losses. Are there still badly officiated games today? Of course. But not nearly to the degree of the early 2000’s.

I only need to know one thing to know that something was wrong, if not necessarily pre-planned. On that clean block by Webber when they called a foul on who knows whom--the whistle sounded before the contact/non-contact was about to happen. This is irrefutable proof that a foul was going to be called no matter what happened on that play--because a foul was called before ANYTHING happened (or didn't happen).

@WhateverReally the ratio of 2nd half foul calls heavily favored the Lakers. This is paramount, considering 6 out of the 7 games (game 3) were down to the wire. Although the Kings had more free throw attempts throughout the series, this was due to the aforementioned game 3, where the Kings had 20 more attempts. The other 6 games, the Lakers had far more attempts in the 2nd half. This is how the NBA tried to cover their tracks...stats-wise. Anyone who doesn't see this in the game 6 calls is either delusional, or a Lakers fan...probably both. Lmao 🤣

If the Kings were given tons of calls early, that means the games were only close late because of all the calls they had in the first half. If the first halves had been called fairly with similar FTs on both sides, then the Lakers would have had leads in most of those close games and even without getting more FTs, they would have won more. Just because moron fans get more upset at a bad call late because it's more obvious how it impacted the outcome doesn't mean a late bad call *actually* has more impact than an early one. If my team is playing an evenly matched team, I'd much rather they get a lucky call in the last 2 minutes than get 5 lucky calls in the first quarter.

The NBA and NFL manipulate games,there's no doubt in my mind. On every play the ref can make some kind of judgemental foul from holding,to much contact,hand checking,push off....etc. It's just the nature of the game that allows the league to be able to manipulate games and keep them close or to give a certain team or star player an advantage. The NFL especially just wants games to be close and exciting especially the Superbowl and for it to come down to the wire the final drive. The NBA is a star driven league that wants certain stars and teams to do well,Thats why Jordan got all the calls when he played and the Bulls. The refs can control/manipulate the momentum of a game and have it come down to the wire for an exciting last minute finish. Sometimes they might not manipulate games and sometimes they definitely do.

It was just a badly officiated series overall. It was never rigged for either team. It was just corrupt refs exerting their influence for a horrible degree. Haters want to pretend like games today are rigged, but the early 2000’s was just a dirty officiating era, and the Donaghy scandal was the culmination of that. Nowadays, officiating isn’t nearly as bad, and the “Rigged” accusations are more just lame excuses fans make to justify losses. Are there still badly officiated games today? Of course. But not nearly to the degree of the early 2000’s.

I only need to know one thing to know that something was wrong, if not necessarily pre-planned. On that clean block by Webber when they called a foul on who knows whom--the whistle sounded before the contact/non-contact was about to happen. This is irrefutable proof that a foul was going to be called no matter what happened on that play--because a foul was called before ANYTHING happened (or didn't happen).
Just accept the fact that the Kings still had chance after chance to just play basketball to make a few more stops and scores to win either Games 4, 6, or 7 of the 2002 WCF, but they failed when they lost all three of those games and the series altogether to the Los Angeles Lakers.

@WhateverReally the ratio of 2nd half foul calls heavily favored the Lakers. This is paramount, considering 6 out of the 7 games (game 3) were down to the wire. Although the Kings had more free throw attempts throughout the series, this was due to the aforementioned game 3, where the Kings had 20 more attempts. The other 6 games, the Lakers had far more attempts in the 2nd half. This is how the NBA tried to cover their tracks...stats-wise. Anyone who doesn't see this in the game 6 calls is either delusional, or a Lakers fan...probably both. Lmao 🤣

If the Kings were given tons of calls early, that means the games were only close late because of all the calls they had in the first half. If the first halves had been called fairly with similar FTs on both sides, then the Lakers would have had leads in most of those close games and even without getting more FTs, they would have won more. Just because moron fans get more upset at a bad call late because it's more obvious how it impacted the outcome doesn't mean a late bad call *actually* has more impact than an early one. If my team is playing an evenly matched team, I'd much rather they get a lucky call in the last 2 minutes than get 5 lucky calls in the first quarter.
