Flex fuel works better with E85 or 87 Mine runs best on 87 418 miles on full tank
So that’s alll u did was switch gas
Dont hurt to have the injectors from the fuel rail cleaned. My one tahoe 2011 have a bad coil, used old school timing light dead coil. My Escalade has bad idle , coils all good but suspect dirty injectors..n
Vacuum reading between 15-16 inches
Mines doing the same exact thing runs great but a weird idle dont no why im a scared too it might die at a stop but no check engine light nothing like that I'm thinking about trying better gas I always use 87 but I'll try 93 if it helps or not and it's also a 5.3l flex fuel too
Get a catch can. Gm mostors recirculate oilly air into the air intake, thats why we need techron. To fix run 4 cans back to back of techron, put on the catch can, and 3rd is if ypu want the idle smooth asap, go get an injector cleaning device. They are only $60. You pull each enjector you put the wire from the machine onto the injector as you spray carb cleaner through it. The machine fires the injector and if its fouled you see it with your own eyes go from a splatter to a nice fine mist. Then put it back in and done. Do this for all 8 injectors. Look up how to remove injectors first. Some cars it tKe 5 seconds to get them out but other cars take forever as the are buried.
mine I had to replace the plugs and 1 coil because it originally had an e85 motor...that motor died and was replaced with a 5.3 long block. the guy did alot of shortcuts....installing the old used misgaped plugs and after I got all new properly gaped plugs and replaced the throttle body and coil..it still has a rough idle. only when i take off at 20-25 the light goes off...I'll try your trick with the 93..my 81 jeep ran like a caddy when I used BP 93
What’s another good gas there is no chevron around me
You talk too much
MAF
What about the techron fuel addative?
It definitely does help smooth it a bit but not a permanent fix. I have used it before
Did you run it without oil or water?
Thanks for the video. Did this issue just come on suddenly with you? That just happened with me and I've had the Tahoe over 3 years. Thanks.
Bro!!! Just wanted to say thanks for making this video! I had a rough idle going on in my 2004 Yukon, and the check engine light was on and flashing. I watched your video, went to Chevron, put $20 worth of 93 gas, and all is back to normal!
How is a forum proof??
My neighbors 09 Tahoe that I'm trying to help him fix started running itself up and holding rpms after letting off the throttle, after I cleaned his throttle body. It drives like it has cruise control automatically set to whatever you last had your foot at when you let off the pedal
Did you ever fix this? I’m having a kinda similar issue.
@@jacobmcbee6368 yeah it eventually adjusted, it just took a lot longer than expected. Like 2 to 3 weeks
@@jacobmcbee6368throttle relearn
I tried this and it didn’t work @texasprepper
Question my 07 tahoe 5.3 is not overheating but tge gauge reads slightly over half way on the dash , what could it be
Coolant temperature sensor
Same here but had to change value n exhaust on engine n pvc too … gonna try the chevron Techron n let u guys know what happens
If it is running rough, has no power, misfires, straight up running like crap then change your crankshaft position sensor. It’s behind starter.
Sheesh suck Chevron up already
My suburban had rough idle, and it was because the idle was too low. You have to reprogram (buy a chip) and increase idle to ~800. This was after literally replacing everything I could, and that was the actual fix.
Weird idle in drive it drops below 500
@imathreat209 get it tuned?
A tune used to mean go get your timing adjusted with a timing light. You kids today will nevwr know what that's like as the car now does that. Now a tune means to go get your Powerband map adjusted with a modified timing profile. A sport tune can advance the timing and give more power but require you to use 91 octane fuel, it can raise the rpms of when your car shifts to benifit from aftermarket parts like a torque converter etc. Or get a fuel economy fuel map, less power, lower rpm, long low comfy shifts etc. A "tuner" doesn't tune anything he plugs a USB in and uploads a new map and unplugs the device. I had a Diablo sport tuner. I tuned my escalade to be a beast. 10 years later I have the same car and my old ass wants better mpg and a comfy ride, but I lost the $600 tuner and refuse to buy another. I'm stuck with an Escalade thats loud as hell and drives like a racecar.
@@TurnThemWheels I bought a superchip to program the idle speed.
@extrememiami sucks had the same thing happened. Even buying a new tuner, it doesn't have the original profile of the trucks computer. So if I wanted to get the original settings, I'd have to buy a new computer. Reprogram keys, etc. Huge pain I thought I had to go through to get it smogged. Thankfully, me just increasing RPM doesn't effect smog results
I have made everything, im so happy this really works for me!!!! I love techron
Yeah i put gas at a cheap gas station after that my truck started to splutter went back to the usal gas station and the problem has gotten a bit better
Your oil pressure is low
Where do you get that 140 mph speedo…….
Silverado or 4.8 -6.0 are drama queens lol
Could be a map sensor issue… Techron isn’t a quick fix to a real problem.
Mine was idling rough. No power. I replaced MAP sensor. Problem solved. Then I reset, cleared all codes with scan tool.
@@burnnotice5086 I just did that and cleaned the MAF sensor too and I still have a rough idle. No engine codes either, I’ll have to do a smoke leak detection test. It’s probably the intake manifold gasket and/or egr valve gasket.
Eating oil?
Oxígeno sensor change it I’ll do it no codes but the truck running smooth now !!!!
Any clue please let me no thanks
Yeah I did spark plugs fuel pump new canister new charcoal canister new spark plugs coils and wires new brake switch but it still shakes a little at idle the only thing I have not done so far is throttle body and MAF sensor I have not change that yet maybe I'll spray some cleaner in there until I buy MAF and clean throttle body out but yeah I'm still getting a little ruff idle but if I reve it up it's fine it's only at idle it's like up and down a little trying to figure it out I just put a new fuel pump in it too
You change out the Throttle position sensor yet. It made a big difference on mine. It's pretty cheap and easy to DIY.
These trucks idle rough because they burn oil. Carbon deposits create preignition detonation knocking which can be heard on heavily under acceleration. The real fix is to get the updated left valve cover and the updated tiny oil splash guard that goes on the oil return nipple inside the oil pan, and a professional seafoam or system clean to prevent hydro locking. Higher octane fuel is less prone to cause knocking with carbon deposits and compression and the additive helps clean the system in the very long term. Is like engineers want our engines to break with this PCV systems, thats why oil catch cans help reduce this by reducing oil contamination in combustion chambers.
Thanks I have 2005 Chevy Tahoe LT with 240 thousand miles runs like a champ just replaced my knock sensors, spark plugs, 1 engine coil and connectors cleared the code ride about 100 miles no codes yet but has small vibration I checked my wires hoses and vacuum leaks nothing is wrong with it I am afraid to drive it seems like it's going to stall out I use premium fuel and used fuel injector cleaners so my next fill up I'm use Chevron with Techron.
Any change?
What map sensor set up do you have mine is mounted on the side
This video was very helpful for my 2010 Tahoe thanks man. Going to try better gas and some fuel intake cleaner.
What us chevron with tech Ron
Where in the fuck is 800 dollars 💸 spent on that Aimpoint and don’t give me that it can survive a car bomb who gives a shit that can’t be that’s why the price is so high and I’m a aimpoint owner???🤯🔫🃏
She's purring like a kitten
Yes, sometimes, you need to stabilize the gasoline specially when you use cheap gas . Chevron gas with techron and a vp 7 in 1 fuel treatment help my 2005 silverado rough idle.
That don’t work
Rough idle can be multiple different causes on these newer chevy engines. 4.8,5.3,6.0. I did alot of research on these engines. There prone for intake gasket failure. I had rough idle as well. I changed intake gasket.. wala. All fixed.
Do you mean the manifold gasket? Can you pls share the part no
Whoa maybe that’s my problem cause I’m having the same issue and I did injectors and a tune up with wires so hopefully that’ll fix it
That air intake is dirty asf
This must be the worst form of proof ever, i work delivering fuel, arco and movil and chevron is the same fuel lmfao ur off buddy
i got a 2009 silverado i need to do. its absolute hell to reach
ok so you should name this video "my tahoe runs good!"
If that helped try running E85 ethanol your truck runs on it I run half Chevron with techron and half E85 ethanol
Just got a can, going to add it to my 08 tahoe with 140k miles. I know a lifter colapsed.
Mine I’m has been running with a collapsedlifter for 5 years now
To many ahhh and uhms Wow!!!
I got an 07 Tahoe my stabiltrak & traction control keeps going on and off on and off and it'll even make my truck die out it's been giving me hella problems I've thrown money at it for all of 2020 idk what to do .-.
Ive been having the same problem last thing i wanna do is a motor swap have u figured anything out
@@youngshoota713 no I've changed spark plugs , rear wheel speed sensors , MAF sensor, added an extra negative cable from the engine to the firewall , I took it to multiple mechanics the truck it is currently at one right now and the dude is saying it's the fuel pump causing this issue almost a 1,000 later and idk if that's even the issue
@@anaaguilar7263 look at your pcv valve connections, my boot had a crack in it and was causing my stabilitrak sensor to go off. Replaced it with a new tight fitted rubber hose and hasn't gone off since
I had exact same issue. Try and see if your cruise. Control doesn't work too. If not it's this little brake module sensor that attaches to the brake pedal.
Brake lights sensor it’s around 40 bucks at Autozone, if your cruise control no longer works I’d change this sensor, they have KZread videos on it
Should be idling around 550-600 RPM. If you fall too far below 500 you'll probably start getting misfire codes (I know when one of my spark plugs got fouled it was varying between 400-600 RPM and got codes).
