WOW what a score. Lot of stripping required but still totally salvageable. Thats a decent size space wolves army there, certainly enough to make a core force. You should strip them back to bear metal and slowly save these classic miniatures. I wish I had some of those old rogue trader era marines. Most of what you have of the wolves is what makes up my Vylka Fenyrika army along with a dozen or so newer miniatures. I love this old space wolves stuff.

I found out that After Eight package have the correct size for 28mm shipping container. Just slap some corrogated paper on the sides, add some trim/edge covers and some details. Then the usual modge podge, prime, paint and done. Takes about half and hour and you have some nice, decent shipping container.

I remember when we first got Necromunda and after playing for a while, we decided to split the task of themed terrain. We selected functional terrain like a waste transfer station or exhaust extraction and ventilation tower and then we developed terrain-piece specific rules. Splitting this up among the playing group certainly lightened the load a bit but I still have sense memories from hand carving fan blades from pegs (it was before computer fans were so cheap). Nice work here!

I've got fond memories of a couple of days spent making terrain with my 40k group when the City Fight rules came out. One of us had just got a new TV and we hacked up the packaging with a hot wire and made ruined buildings for a weekend. Great fun!

Love it! Two suggestions to perhaps drive you less to despair in future though: 1- Adhesive labels. Buy a box of 100 full-sized label sheets from your local business supply shop. Any time you need a print-n-glue solution you can instantly skip the glue step. Trust me, you'll never look back. 2- Mini-clothes pegs for the rail supports. Widely available in craft and dollar stores, already an interesting shape AND as bonus you get teeny tiny springs you can use for... well... something.

Tom, thanks for this great terrain build video. As a salty old grognard myself the 1990s era Necromunda cardboard terrain is near and dear to my heart. The terrain you created for this video really captures the essence of that venerable terrain, both in form and function. I appreciate all the tips and tricks you share in the video. I absolutely agree with you on priming in white, it saves time in terms of paint coverage later and it makes the final product brighter overall. If I might share a tip of my own, for hazard stripes I paint the whole area yellow and then apply narrow strips of masking tape over the area followed by carefully painting on the black. To get properly sized strips I apply the tape to a clean flat spot on my cutting mat then cut measured lengths with my hobby knife. A related tip is that when applying the tape to the area to be hazard striped if you have trouble getting the spacing just right, try neatly applying strips of tape side by side to cover the whole area, then carefully remove every other strip to get a uniform pattern. Thanks for providing the templates for your designs for download. A few questions: What are the small studs/domes that you used for your rivets and where might one get them? On the main tower their are L-shaped pieces that attach the small walls to the main structure. What are these made out of, foam board or eva foam maybe? Also, I couldn't find these shapes on your handy templates. I think this is a fine video, and while it sounds like it was an effort to make, I'd like to see more like it. I also like your previous battle report videos. They are built around a solid narrative and I think that makes them so much more engaging.

  • @tomgoesrogue
