Wow. Beautiful build. I have a 57 2 door in 1968. Not quite the ride that this is.

Broc, expand- your comment when you register your car…”do we really need that”. Yes I agree , you don’t ..keep learning the biggest con over humanity..next step…learn the word person……it’s a mask worn by a actor… I know the path you are on….the truth , not the con! Good comment!

I like the proportions on Murray Pfaff’s ‘59 Imperial Soeedster. Chip can do magic with sheet metal, but I just can’t see the Continental exceeding Murray’s masterpiece. Quick story. This must have been 1969. I was the youngest engineer in Ford’s 429-460 engine engineering department. Mrs. Edsel Ford’s Continental was at the Engineering Center for some work. The 368 V8 needed a rebuild, but: 1. We wanted to install the new 460 engine. 2. No passenger car pistons were available and truck pistons would not provide the NVH quality we wanted for H.F. II’s mother’s car. The 460 engine & C6 transmission dropped in easily. To match up with the vehicles rocker panel mounted exhaust system we just swapped the exhaust manifolds left to right and the outlets faced forward. I got to take the vehicle out on the Dearborn Test Track with my boss, the 429-460 Engine Design supervisor, and the Engine Development supervisor. They were real good friends and usually had lunch together. We called them the Manhattan Boys. It was early afternoon and I guess that’s why I got to drive. As I was exiting the track & into the infield, a big dump truck test vehicle almost T-boned us. I had 2 supervisors chewing on me, we’re sitting in Mrs. Edsel Ford’s automobile and I’m thinking I’m gonna have a career change to refrigeration repairman, working for my father… I clearly had the right of way, but if the car had been racked up and/or the bosses hurt, I was toast. Fortunately for me, the test track manager was looking at the track from the test track office and he saw the incident. While I was getting yelled at, he rushed over and read the truck driver, a test track employee, the riot act - and saved my job!

Beautifully done but it lost something of the E Type character and strength. In some ways from the front it looks like cross between an E Type and a Ferrari. I would have begun with the coupe which is better looking and I would never have used the long wheelbase version. It changes the proportions making the car look less athletic.

Brock, you didn't mention that your dad, after being surprised with the finished Overlord, built a pick up for your dad- I think I remember it was painted mainly with a color called "Sex on the Beach", also in secret. ON your grand dad's response to the parking lot contretemps; he was so angry, he helped him become one of the leading car designer/ builders in the world. Brock, that is some serious anger and counseling! If it's lead work he's needing, Retro Power, far off in the UK, has a guy that does it really well. Mention Churchill and a certain Jensen Interceptor- both were originally built using lead filler material, and it's hard to combine with synthetics.

What would have bee hilarious is if you had first presented him with a rendering that reflected having made it appear as an oversized Beetle. Semaphores, wadded-up cloth sunroof, turn the hood down so it looks like someone sticking their tongue out, etc.

You think your grandfather was forgiving? "NNNOOOO!" Ask your father about the time he blew up a battery charger at your grandfather's shop back in 1980-1. I was there. I never heard such a potty mouth in my entire life! 😂 Sam chewed out Chip big time!

You're doing your dad proud Brock. You remind me of my son but his hair is longer than yours. I've been a huge fan of your Dad as I always wanted to be a car stylist but ended up becoming an architect. I was out on a project in Long Beach back in 2009ish. I was there for 3 weeks. I suddenly realised that I was about 6 blocks away from you Dad's shop. I thought about driving down but wasn't sure if they let people in to look around. I rue not doing so.

The only reason the car should come off the wall is build a drag racer out of it. Then put it back later. Electric drive train in that would be a rocket 1/4 mile. Thanks for the tour Brock 2x👍
