    Why not queen f6 right away instead of rook e4? (1st puzzle)

  • @oneshotchess
    @oneshotchessКүн бұрын

    Qf3 is also winning just like what happened in the game, but the cleanest and the best way to win is Rook e4 giving no counterplay to your opponent, its just like “when u see a good move look for a better one”

  • @spdhegde
    @spdhegdeКүн бұрын

    But there's no counterplay after Qf3 as it's a checkmate right? Or am I missing something?

  • @spdhegde
    @spdhegdeКүн бұрын

    Okay I see that there's Kg8 Then nh6, nxh6 Then Qg7+ checkmate

  • @spdhegde
    @spdhegdeКүн бұрын

    But again, if I play with the solution you gave, after rook goes back to e6, the black queen can take the rook on e6 and ruin our ideas. Then our rook on e7 takes the black queen. But black can do rook e8 and create squares for their king to move. So checkmate actually gets quite delayed

    Great video. My rating fluctuates a lot online, depending on time controls and many other factors. In all these positions, except the first one, I was able to find either the best move or at least the right idea. What would you guess my rating should be based on that information?

  • @oneshotchess
    @oneshotchess3 күн бұрын

    I am not sure about rating but your understanding about chess and how to evaluate the position is great, if u were able to solve the diagrams!

    What would be your best response if he instead of capturing cxd5 pushes the c pawn kicking off the bishop gaining a tempo?

  • @oneshotchess
    @oneshotchess8 күн бұрын

    Then u can play Bc7 and basically pushing the queenside pawn is not so easy and already we can maybe get a breakthrough with b6 in the future or overall just keep on developing and black is happy :)
