Genuinely insane how optic fans are this delusional that they 100% disagree with anyone who actually matters. Majors are irrelevant in this conversation. Champs having a team host it has 1000s of possible problems. Methodz would actually agree with most of this if he wasn't playing the optic fans for their money since forever 😂 Also tons of tweets went out when pros and coaches found out before it got announced to the public. Stop this narrative that only cause optic won is that this is even a conversation lmao

How is this still an argument. Optic hauled ass to Toronto and beat every top 4 team and won the event. Nobody told ultra to lose to LA thieves.

All athletes around the world have to play away games.. whether you’re an nba or nfl athlete it’s something every athlete has to deal with. This has to be the lamest excuse to fall back on. Toronto got whooped in their home court. If optic would have lost this wouldn’t even be a conversation. People are cheesy man

I think the point methodz had to drive home is literally nothing would be different about that if the cdl produced it instead of the optic team

They hate when majors have no fans but if there is fans they are all OpTic fans and if OpTic win it doesnt really count cause home field is the only reason they won.

He saying in a pros perspective its hard to play in that atmosphere but says it wouldn’t matter to him bc he likes to play in the atmosphere? If u play like shit you play like shit don’t make excuses and say the location and the color green were the reason players didn’t shoot straight.

It should have not been an optic event, end of story, why was it not ran by activision, even if it was ran in the arena in Texas that’s totally fine, but that was an optic event, cod champs is a neutral event, not taking anything away from optics win, they deserved to win, im an optic fan so I’m over the moon that they won, but even hecz said that champs should be neutral, optic didn’t do anything wrong they were asked to do it, but activision should be putting on champs period

Champs should be neutral. But if the cdl isnt going to be the one to throw the event and no one else will step up why hold optic accountable for throwing an event at home that was awesome

I feel like the crowd was insane because we knew if it was hosted by OpTic, it would be a great venue, stage, and crowd interaction. If the name isn’t attached with Chsmps, it wouldn’t be an issue. The players should be excited for the future events to look like that all the time. Activision somehow didn’t have the funding for a quarter billion dollar league to host a champs event.

He brings up them winning in LA but won’t talk about them having a custom blackout intro where Kenny had a solo walkout with courage introducing them with an all LA crowd… and that didn’t feel like an LAT event? Come on Sam… should champs be neutral? Absolutely…. Did. optic hosting champs have any effect on the winner? NO

I think that as a pro, especially a top tier team, you have to learn to tune out the noise and play your game. But from a spectators perspective, it’s gotta be a checkout when you don’t receive the same amount of energy from the crowd as optic

Nah Zin shouldnt have just let it go and said im biased to green wall. Sam is being goofy. Champs is going to bring fans from all over the country. Texas had wayyyyy more people in the area that weekend. Fans are going to come from all over and thats every world championship type event. Champs was in LA for many years and the crowd was ALWAYS an optic crowd.

Just think about the Superbowl or any other big sports event, it's always hosted somewhere and the home team can make it to the final and it's going to be a home game. Letting a city or organisation host the event enhances the quality of it. At the end of the day the team has to deliver and you're not winning by the hype alone that is created by the atmosphere.

This should inspire other orgs to be better. Get creative and compete for new fans for fucks sake because the more fans you get, the more money you make. The more money you make, the more you can afford to pay a roster. The more you are able to pay for a roster the more success you have as a team and org. Optic has a stranglehold on cod esports cause they tried really hard to build a culture.

If optic didn’t win there wouldn’t be this discussion. But because they did people are crying saying they had an advantage. As a NYSL fan I’d rather see an event there in person fans can attend rather than it be in a dark room streamed online. We forget cod isn’t big anymore and doesn’t have financial support it use to and hecz did a great job hosting the world champs. GGs optic.

honestly, I'm glad they didn't do a neutral event not saying that because of this bs of crowd advantage from optic, but because i truly believe that the cdl wouldn't not do a better job of hosting a event then optic. champs was amazing the venue was insane everything was amazing and the fact that optic won and a very impressive way make it even better the cdl wouldn't not be near close of a better hosting performance then optic imo

To me it seemed like optic add 200 health and subliners 100 health It was like subliners add no bullet recognition for most of the game man And it took twice the amount of bullets to kill optic players then it did to subliner players I would say that was what I noticed man

  • @-smokemenace

I think it’s more the ping that was in optics favour it was like subliners was getting no bullet recognition man It was almost like optic was on 200 health and subliners was on a 100 heath man That’s what it seemed like man

This is such a forced argument. for the last decade, Optic fans have dominated the fans scene almost every event. No team can even compare to the fans optic has. If you want a balanced playing field go improve your own fanbase. I would genuinely bet on that if the crowd was 50/50 you wouldn't be able to tell unless they showed it on camera.
