I'm pretty confident the movie she's talking about that she didn't want to say is "The Sweetest Gift" :). It's def an oldie but goodie with Tisha Campbell and the legendary Diahann Carroll. I love seeing her in her winning era... it's so awesome when people release dead weight and begin to blossom and let shine their light again. Mary J has a very similar experience. Truly beautiful...

I have saved this interview for a reason. The part about the Emmy nomination. I mean both Martin and My, Wife and Kids still come on. To hear someone flat out say, you are not going to get nominated and she still kept going and still remained relevant to a standard of performance. To turn around and still want to preserve the Soul Train awards. Tisha is truly an actress Icon. I believe she set the standard for people like Mr. Brown to act the way that he acts, really bringing the everyday person vibe to a character while still being an important element to a scene. I don't think her or Tichina gets the same love that a Meryl Streep, or even Angela Bassett gets and I completely understand we don't have to put others against each other in order to give them the credit they rightfully deserve. I am just saying when you speak about multitalented actress that will always deliver, we must put some respect on Tisha's name and introduce them as iconic. Make sure Barron Allen gives them a Grio award, make sure BET recognizes them, and so, forth because they have went through the mud in Hollywood so, that others today can makes their way through the business. I know that directors and casting directors would say, we are looking like a Gina from Martin, or a Jade from my wife and my kids. So, there is a standard there for sure.
