it s not objective... u dont use the same way to record the sim. i got them both and P3d v5 is far away better than xplane for VR...

Jesus, that scenery on p3d is horrible...I got p3d and it is not even that bad....I honestly think you're just trying to make P3D look bad because it's really not that bad.

That's the Orbx straight out of the box so to speak, and it's a lot better than the standard stuff in P3d but perhaps I am doing something wrong. I used to write scenery for FSX back in the day and I have to say this looks a lot worse.

After you had installed Vorpx did you run Vorpx before starting Arma 3? There should be a little icon down by the clock for the Vorpx driver.

Hi Paul, Nice video, i have been on the fence with Vorpx because of the bad reviews and convoluted setup for each game, and the high price for a program that does not really give you native VR. That being said, I would be keen to hear your comments on the use of Vorpx for Arma 3? ease of setup, immersion, fps, your pc spec etc. currently i have i7 6790k, 32gb ddr4, 1080ti gpu, and a Pimax 4k VR Headset. can you let me know if the pc spec is similar to yours and if you can answer the questions above please? My set-up is a considerably lower spec than yours: i5-4460 GTX1050Ti but it runs reasonably smoothly so I'm guessing yours will only be better. Setup is fairly straight forward although I found I needed to change the video resolution in Arma 3 for the perspective to look correct. I found using a gun in VR is useless although others have managed. Its not perfect in flight, no where near as good as X-Plane but it certainly is fun and I think worth the cost of Vorpx.

I've never been very happy with that, the gun is always in the wrong position for me. But others have had a better experience so I'm sure it's possible.

I recorded a video taking off from that same patch of grass facing the same direction in a little bird. Too funny! Also in vr haha.

Ah i just realized i uplosded the 2nd half of the video in the little bird. But have some neat ah64 footage up. What are your settings? I have to zoom out so the body doesnt feel so close / large.

@@theVRpilot My settings are still not right. I had to adjust the resolution as the default Vorpx settings magnified everything too much. It is great fun but no where near as "natural" as X-Plane. I'm sure with some more fiddling it will get better. I think someone has posted a youtube video with some new settings. I'll try and dig out the link...

Its not perfect but its so amazing i love flying the apache and using the gun mounted to my head display aiming and shooting. Going up over a hill, launching a hell fire and going back down before the sam spots me. Too cool.

The most important thing for me was changing the ingame resolution and aspect ration in the GAME video menu. Fiddling with the Vorpex settings didn't really change the problem of perspective where as setting the game resolution to 4:3 AND the aspect ration to 4:3 made things much more flyable.

@@vrealitygaming7088 The store/home is designed to turn off as soon as a game starts. I start Vorpex, then start Arma3 and it seems to run fine for me.

@@paullintott Yeah it worked for me but as soon as I went into mission editor to try and fly as a pilot, the screen went black and game froze up and I was getting 5fps in-game. Maybe I have to turn down the graphics settings before starting VR?....
