@romelmadrayart @romelmadrayart 10 minutes ago Hi I wanted to know if Sumi Ink can be used with sable brushes. I know India ink destroys brushes because they stick to the hairs and basically will make a brush rock. but I have seen people use sumi ink with chinese style brushes in Chinese/Japanese art (unsure of the fibres). Any experiences using Sumi ink for Brush painting? Or with the following types of brushes 3009S Oval Wash black velvet brushes (partially synthetic ) or the Princeton Neptune brushes (synthetics )

Washi tape (for the border) would work on the size sketchbook you have.

If you went with the bigger Altoids tin you could have a bigger palette (additional blue and other colors as well.

I am frustrated at my inability to draw. I find this very helpful as am drawing every day. Over and over and over until I am happy with the likeness. I'm taking a course, which includes drawing animals in a field and almost quit...before I discovered you. Thank you.

Why do so many artists have that similar cutting board grid on their desks? Is there a purpose or benefit in scetching or drawing? Isn't is a soft and pliable surface where your pencil or pen can puncture the paper?

12$ isn't pricy for a fountain.pen.For a decent one, you have to pay more. That's also because nowdays, fountain pens are not what they used to be (in terms of quality and performance). Even the famous Kaweco Sport, comes with a nib with baby's bottom issues. So, to get a decent one, you have to both spend way more money and be lucky in the same time, for the nib/feed or reservoir, to come without any flaws. Deep nib pens, provide more, for less money and it's certenly, the more budget friendly way to ink!

Hi, basically im trying to practice drawing for me to draw the animal I hunt(I wanna be a hunter but I got nothing to do to prepare so I chose to practice drawing animals). Also I really like dinosaurs and Im going to be a paleontologist in the future. So is there any advice can you tell me?Like I just wanna draw something so I dont know where to start but watch videos like this.Basically any advice really help, a book, type of pencil basically small stuff and others. Also may I ask whats the equipment or what do you need to draw?Another thing is im really confused since theres a lot of grip and I dont know which one should I use, since the overhand grip I think its for any type of drawing?Im just new to art and dont know a single thing so I guess I’ll need someone to help me out lol thx.

I love Boston Terriers! Well done for trying to film and paint with dogs with you, I love that they dragged you off after another dog 😂 I have a MUCH bigger palette so mine isn’t as portable (the 14 half pan tin with thumb hook) as yours so I’m jealous of how portable your kit is

Thank you for making this. As someone who has drawn for 40 years and just started to paint last year I understand your struggle with color. What I found online was everyone uses a different palette so I appreciate your color descriptions. Things have become so much easier once I went to just 4 colors. Windsor red, Windsor yellow, Windsor blue red shade and Windsor blue green shade. I have had no trouble making any color I need with this palette. My problem is when people use color names and I have no idea what color it it is so your descriptions are a blessing.
