I love old chrysler outboard! I had 8hp with Tecumseh built motor (Canadian). That motor was a gem, it would start on third or second pull after 8 months of Alberta winter. Ran great, light, no fuss no problem motor. I wish I still had it.

My guy! We have a 1971 and just got it running!! However the shifter is backwards. Forwards is reverse and reverse is forward. Any tips!?!?
@tylerott9269Ай бұрын
That’s how the early ones were built. The lever was installed horizontal on those and up was forward and down was reverse

where can you get parts for these? I have a 9.9 that needs water pump and head gasket
@tylerott9269Ай бұрын
Sierra makes replacement water pumps, and fuel pumps. Condensers are still available. Idk about head gaskets, but there should be some on eBay

Take at look at the movie by Alfred Hitchcock called The Birds. Tippi Hedren uses this motor when she visits Mitch. So cool!

Where did you find the fitting to connect the fuel line to the motor I’ve looked all over and can’t find the right one
@tylerott9269Ай бұрын
It’s a small Mercury fitting which is the same as a Scott Atwater/ McCullough fitting. On this motor I just ran a longer hose out the front with a normal Mercury fitting on it
Ive came close to getting a Merc for my collection, but i don't see all that many here in Michigan and when I do, someone beats me to it. Is this a Thor originally, or were those earlier than '46? She runs pretty good!

I’ve had the Evinrude 6 growing up. Used it as backup and for bully netting. 1967-68. I have a 70 Johnson 6 now. Still runs good. 50:1 mix. I miss the days when OMC and Kiekhaefer Mercurys ruled the American waterways. All you ever saw, except for an occasional Chrysler.

In 1973, the next door neighbour gave me one of these. I was surprised when I saw it was made by a Pressure Cooker Compnay

Looks exactly like my Mariner outboard from the same time. Any idea w here to find a manual or part list? I guess Mariner was made by Yamaha.
I saw one for sale today brand new for $300 at garage sale. What are these things worth?
I paid $200 for mine. The ones I've seen on marketplace usually range from 200 to 400.
Enjoyed that.
I have the same motor.. where is the kill switch?
@@tylerr.142 I think it’s on the tiller if I remember correctly
Boat size?
The pleasing noise of my childhood on the St Lawrence River.
Cool vid. Do you still use your Honda?
i remember seeing these in stores when they first started makin them, then i remember lookin at them real close an saying, hmmm, nope.
Old outboard motors have brass bearing races . They need more oil in the mix use original mix rate.
She look angry also good for a kicker
👍👍👍
I own a 5 horse Briggs and Stratton outboard. Anything Short of a weedwacker is faster Lol😅
Less moving parts, not environmentally-friendly.
it's either a '76 or '77
best place to buy the seals you mentioned?? and do you know which carb kit you used?
