I think after you get it placed where you want, if you use blue locktight, it should hold zero just fine. Im going to purchase a clone and test it as well. If it works than ill definitely save the money for my cheaper guns. My expensive guns i feel obligated to get the real thing. Why sepnd 4 grand on a firearm and then be cheap on optics or anything else.

This video demonstrates why the M14 failed miserably. How many twists does it take to put this in full auto? M16 and the like is just a flick of the thumb or finger. There are those that swear by this gun, those are a different sort of people that you want by your side.

There’s a reason why the M14 was a laughing stock during Vietnam and arguably the Korean War. I seriously don’t understand why people glorify this weapon when the one and only reason for its existence was scraped and replaced 10 years after its adoption (it wasn’t soon enough and the M1 Garand lasted over 20 years for comparison). it was designed to be a full auto rifle that shot a “intermediate caliber” in the same way as the AK47 and its later Experimental replacement, The XM16E1. The M14 ended up getting men killed in Vietnam, The grizzly/violent discovery was found the hard way that a higher volume of controllable fire was more important and more effective in those jungles than the US Army’s Pathetic adopted solution that is the M14. I love the M1 Garand, I respect it 100% as it was a brilliant weapon during the times of WW2 as it matched well against the small arms technology of it’s enemies and allyies. the dark history of the M14 is whole other can of worms even though both rifles are virtually the same if performance besides caliber and feeding mechanic.

As a former weapon instructor, I have never encountered a worse treatment and safety verification of the G3. 1. It is not a machine gun but a fully automatic rifle. 2. The bolt lever is never held in the rear position for fully loading the firearm. If the safety is not on and the trigger is depressed, the bolt assembly slams forward and damages the rifle. It is also a safety concern if the magazine has been inserted. 3. Why is the operator seen putting the rifle down with the magazine inserted and (if even) putting the safety on (instead of leaving it in the shoulder)? No chamber check? Put the safety on immediately after the last shot and leave that thing in your shoulder in case you have an accidental shot released, remove the magazine, then pull the lever backwards (and hold it, otherwise you lose a finger), while you check with your finger if there is still a shot in the chamber. Please take a gum safety class first before you post, because this is not as cool as you think. This is how accidents happen.

The M-14 rifle was a mediocre weapon on full automatic. It has horrendous uncontrollable muzzle climb. The only way for an average mortal to shoot an M-14 is on semiautomatic mode. You need an M-60 machine gun with a heavy changeable barrel for the 7.62x51mm NATO cartridge to deal with the heat and savage recoil of the round.
