Ive been buying and selling singles on and off for about 10yr, its best to set yourself ground rules. Sell into hype and the fomo, spec on future reprints, scope the spoilers asap stay on top of the popularity, take small risks often, never take big risks when buying, sell in mind to buy into the lows about 60/90 days after a set has been released (for your personal collection) Know your margins inside out, list enmasse, so even if you list 20/30 cards once a month at the same time dont do things in dribs and drabs, listing enmasse will draw more traffic to your seller page, make sure you have a good quantity of items available on pay day weekend as you are more likely to sell to spontaneous buyers at that exact time. Send discount offers on your items in the earlier evening 8/9pm people are most likely to accept or counter during this time. I speak from personal experience of accepting offers myself or having offers accepted that Ive sent. This was a great awareness video for people considering selling. Really on point thanks.

Packaging costs are another part of the margin. I sell my cards in penny sleeves + hard case. Bubble mailer + ink and paper for the shipping label. Add in boxes and shipping tape for larger items. You can bring the price down by buying in bulk but it is still cash out of your wallet to purchase all the materials.

Thanks for the video. I was happy to see you gave the seller the benefit of the doubt and approached the situation from an honest angle. What app was the seller using that had such a large discrepancy with the value you appraised?

I believe it was the dragon shield app but i am planning to do a video on the apps and their discrepancies soon here and see what i can find. I do feel bad because he was being honest but now i know how to avoid the situation mostly in the future!

Maybe spend more than half a second on the best cards in the pack? Then again pack opening videos are dumb. An entire box is interesting, a pack or four is pointless.

Every 4 cent card is worth 4 cents. Add them all up, and you will get 2 thousand worth. You just can't sell those 4 cent cards. Admit it, You wanted to find riches in 1 card. You are the bad guy. You wanted to pay little, for cards to retire on.

Wow, I can’t imagine how much work that was to appraise someone else’s cards for free

😂 what a crybaby. You bought modern sets and are shocked you got hosed? That probably was worth $2k when the seller put it in the binder and then dropped. You make eBay intolerable.

Must consider their chat before purchase. In addition, the collection includes MH3, and that implies something about the awareness of the seller of what's current .. unless the seller just bought MH3 for kicks, and without rechecking card prices, posted the collection on ebay.
