    I wish there was a material that was more durable than what is currently available. It’d be cool to be able to make some good function parts that undergo friction and can handle loads without deformation. (And yes I’ve used many engineering grade filaments but there’s pitfalls of each). A metal printer would be ideal but the costs are still too high.

    I feel the cheap printers are what gets people into the hobby. Then the better more expensive printers are the ones that you get when you have decided to keep printing.

    Didn't realize the frame also had to be more rigid; that explains the higher price they usually are (also nice to have some explanation of the kinematics of them; will watch that other ffideo on that, too)

    Only thing i can recommend is PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, get one premade by the people who make it. Dealing with missing parts, breakages, difficulty putting together and no guarantee it will work when finally put together is not worth the £20 you will save.

    Great video. I'm still fuzzy on the exact advantages and disadvantages of corexy. Keep thinking I should change(upgrade?) my Ender 5 plus to a corexy system, but it seems like the advantage is simply increased speed and precision at the cost of increased complexity. I just might have to give it a shot before I can tell if those trade offs are worthwhile.

    we're going to bendigo? to get me cube? if you get the reference. sorry i had to. another great video. surprised less views and comments on this one. imo vase mode could be a really great way to make various items or products efficiently with less plastic whilst still having the potential for visual attractiveness and strength especially if we use things like PETG printed at the higher end of the temp range so it really fuses together like one piece of plastic ( for example using cnc kitchen/rygar advice for "printing glass")... not to mention its fun to make your brain try and think of how to make a functional thing using a single continuous line.

    I have started doing a lot of 3D printing at work in the last year and it has totally killed any desire to tinker with printers. We have a modix big 40 that is constantly requiring tuning and adjustment and I hate it so much. I am busy enough without having to fiddle with it to get it to do its job and it was a driving factor behind me getting rid of my personal ender 3 and replacing it with a bambu p1s.

    Very interesting and timely subject. I've been in the business for 4 years, exclusively as a non-profit hobbyist. Initially with QIDI X-Plus and Artillery Sidewinder X1, now with BambuLab P1S, BambuLab A1 and Elegoo Neptune 3 Max. I am happily retired, I enjoy it a lot, I found myself in 3D printing at the time of the pandemic, very happy with it all. Aspects that I consider most when it comes to improving efficiency: 1 RFID as standard for filaments. I've been thinking about this forever. It's about creating the standard, or even following one that already exists, like USB-C, and opening it to all manufacturers. Consumers are grateful 2 super reinforced Nozzles, with diameter adjustment via software. It will be a very welcome game changer 3 beds with standardized dimensions. Pre-defined measurements for different printer categories 4 Unified voltage for all equipment in 110/220. The whole world will thank you I'll stay here. Congratulations on the channel, and continue with success.

    Surprised at the lack of wanting auto part ejection. Ams filament dryer in one or spool holder filament dryer in one would be my #1 ask and pretty sure everyone that has ever had issues with wet filament would pay a few bucks extra for that option.

    so... I watch the whole video I downloaded some of the programs but.... I have never messed with any of these 3d programs or machines. My main goal is to make a cool 3d Catan board game. After looking online for a Catan brand game 3d it cost 350bucks so I looked at esty and seeing the prices of printed Catan games and game parts I thought maybe ill try it myself at this point but I feel overwhelmed. I plan to try to make my own stuff for the game in 3d programs, but again I have never done any of this and I already feel like I need a 4yr collage degree. Some of the prices on esty were 400-700 bucks for a 5-6 player Catan game fully printed and fully painted. I am still unsure what I am going to do I want a Resin printer because of its clean lines and details. I am confident I can set these machines up and get going its the 3d parts of my own design will be the factor so I plan to make my own 3d stuff 1st if I can then buy the printer only if I can make it myself I am not looking forward to buying other peoples prints because the whole point of this is to try to go solo and make other stuff like 3d body armor cozplay armor later on. do you have any advice for me ?

    So I have a problem with this idea. Like knowing your customer's needs is important but at the same time the customer can be and is often wrong. It's a balancing act. Like even if people are not interested in air filtration that should still be a priority. A lot of people do not realize that just because you can't smell it doesn't mean that FDM is safe. It still releases a significant amount of VOCs and particulates. Meta-analysis from several research papers shows that there is quite a bit of VOCs and microparticles from FDM. Same with eco packaging. We won't know the health effects for several decades but it probably is not great to have plastic particles in your lungs. Eco packaging is another place where just because the customer seems to be ambivalent doesn't mean you should ignore it. I also think there is a lot of places to try new things that customers don't even realize would be useful.

    as much as I am in favour of FOSS, Freecad is, in my opinion, the most unintuitive and obtuse CAD package currently on the market (even if it is free). I tend to stick with Fusion 360 until OnShape finally release their CAM module, assuming it is straightforward to use. (It just seems to have been on beta for ages).

    Guess im in the minority here, printing from the BL app. Maybe because im newer to the hobby? If i find my printer about to be idle and dont have anything queued, ill browse the app and print right from it. How about a slicer feature that allows you to scale-to-build plate? Not useful for everything but a fun feature.

  • @hawtdayum
    @hawtdayum2 күн бұрын

    There are a ton of gatekeepers in the hobby. Things like open source, never ending tinkering, and tweaking was what the community HAD to put up with. They actually get mad when a simple to use, full of quality of life features like on bambu printers, show up. Printing without touching a slicer is something, maybe anker, has. But mulitcolor, slicerless prints is Bambu exclusive. I had to deal with the crap of yesteryear like leveling a bed with a sheet of paper, constant breakdowns, upgrades to get consistent prints. So on this channel you may be a minority now, but seeing how the market is going, you wont be for long.

  • @brianwaterman8185
    @brianwaterman81852 күн бұрын

    @hawtdayum yeah I get it. I really commend those who have been doing this for years and decades even. As someone who really enjoys 3d modeling in Autocad, I've been wanting to get into the hobby for so long. It took someone buying me a printer as a gift (ACK2N) to get my feet wet. I don't mind tinkering, but I also don't want my hobby to consume me. I tried out the A1 because of months of frustration on the Kobra. I can understand why people would be upset that Bambu basically made a printer that took out most of the tinkering. Do I think the A1 is the best? Lol no. It has problems, but they are less frustrating to deal with. Which keeps me engaged. I now added 2 minis to my collection. Lol. It's rewarding to see a model I built, print with the level of detail and precision I put into the model with minimal learning curve. Thanks to all who have pushed the industry to give us a better experience overall. I generally avoid the community as I find it's easier for me to just learn on my own. Now I just need a core x/y and I'll be able to print the tall things I want to. Thanks for sharing!

    0:07 That is an "INSANE" amount of waste for the end products! No company would stay in business for long with that sort of inefficiency. I wonder how much more plastic is going into landfills since 3D printing took off? This printer, which I was considering buying, has to be _the_ worst offender.
