    completely agree on almost all these points. 7/7.5 out of 10 here. so many aspects downright creepy, felt like the stakes were real and tangible for the first time in soo long. Ncuti’s performance was absolutely unreal but most importantly, this ep felt like such a return to form for the character of the doctor. he felt kind, charismatic, but capable of absolute fury against an evil villain and I was honestly blown away bc it legitimately felt like we have a real RTD doctor who again.

    2 theories. 1.Shalka doctor is after the War Doctor. -in scream of the Shalka the doctor knows Earth well and the master so he can’t pre date 1. -in scream of the Shalka it’s clear from his use of currency he hasn’t been to Earth in awhile. -Shalka Doctor is cold and disconnected and doesn’t rlly have a proper companion. -he’s kinda like a doctor trying to the the doctor again which is perfect for before 9. 2.The Shalka Doctor is part of a bi generation the doctor doesn’t remember. (READ ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE) -So we know that the second doctor didn’t regenerate on screen in the war games. -in the 5 doctors it’s clear that this version of the second doctor is the oldest we’ve seen that incarnation due to knowing of his companions memory wipe. -The first we see of Pertwe is him falling out of the Tardis. -no timeless doctor’s were in this display of the doctors faces, so why was the fugitive doctor? -The second doctor was meant to work for the time lords post regeneration we know the fugitive dr did. -we also know the doctor has no memory of being the fugitive doctor. -we know the fugitive doctor worked for the division. -we know that the 13th doctor regenerated into the 14th doctor after a forced regeneration. -The 14th doctor was a product of bi generation using a previous and suppressing 15. -so the other time forced regeneration happened it happened to the 2nd doctor. -so if this gal took place a bi generation would make perfect sense to why they changed him too. -the timelords would have a version of the doctor with no memory of who they were working for the division. -so what I’m saying is the second doctor bi regenerated into the fugitive doctor. -fugitive worked for the timelords but got her memories backed and rebelled and became the Shalka doctor. -2nd doctor became the 3rd and was stranded on earth to never encounter this incarnation. -in the 3 doctors the doctor is given the secret to his Tardis back but only after he’s met other incarnations. -so this was the timelords knowing this was now safe and letting him go.

    well if you look the ruth doctor was in there so you can probally take it that richard E grant was one of the timeless child regenerations canon wise which can make you think did the events of shalka actually happen now in canon too :D

  • @F5ss
    @F5ssАй бұрын

    My theory is that the 10th doctor regenerating twice didnt actually count, and really richard ks the tenth doctor after war, nine is the eleventh, ten the twelth and so on

    Shadows of the doctor's form regeneration has often overwhelming puzzling timelines. Not every regenerated doctor's face is in order except the original doctor's sort of. Regarding RTD telling us that every version is now expected to be part of a bigger story to come then we know this may mean another Doctor might just crop up in the future it means the one from the movie's Peter Cushing might be a shade of these doctor's regenerations between the first and second doctor or possibly even before the first a younger first doctor says early 103. Richard E Grant ( Great Intelligence is particularly important I think as we remember he was to enter the doctor's timelines if that did leave scars of his mind inside the doctor's life it seems it may? ) of possible consequences to change things to fit a tenable regeneration is nothing unusual in the novelty of science fiction especially where time travelling is involved the doctor is the sum of his parts his otherworldly self its possible this time lord has trillions of old lives in a few different timelines often forgotten memories because some are challenging his existence or not. We will wait to see what happens and watch this space and have a jaw-dropping moment with an alternate cliff-hanging plot ending or be further puzzled by more weird spine effects of a doctor's untold tales. RTD is a fan but it's hard to see where we are heading in the future with our Doctor Who curiosity Kills Time? Precursor Who!

    To explain the Shalka Doctor and the fugitive Doctor who had a police box Tardis before the 1st Doctor and his granddaughter stole it they should probably use the Toymaker with him making a jigsaw of perhaps the Doctor's history. That the Toymaker "made" the Doctor into the Timeless Child which made his personal timeline go from linear to scribble-like. That the 8th Doctor regenerated twice because of two timelines of the same reality that are connected. That the William Hartnell Doctor is who he was born as while having other selves before him and perhaps make Peter Cushing canon who had two adventures that were similar to William Hartnell because of again two timelines of the same reality that are connected. Like let's say if someone put the 15th Doctor into a machine that reads one's timeline and the reading makes no sense, that this is where the Doctor realize he's no longer linear and starts to question his newly discovered origin. That he's still the daft old man who stole a magic box, but also the Timeless Child, as well as what the Peter Cushing Doctor origin was. Like bigeneration, this was also considered impossible and brings forth a theory that it was an outside force.

  • @moreau1755

    The Shalka Doctor looking like Dr Simian doesn't mean anything, not when you consider that the first, second and sixth Doctors all had villainous lookalikes (not counting thirteen, because there the resemblance to someone he'd previously met was confirmed to NOT be coincidental). As to how he exists in main canon? Possibly it's to do with the Toymaker, who did say he had messed with the Doctor's timeline, or perhaps (and this is my personal favourite option) he was the original ninth Doctor (as intended) but then the Time War rewrote the Doctor's personal timeline. For a human, having your personal history rewritten means the old version of you from the deleted timeline no longer exists, but for Time Lords that's not the case.

    I think the Shalka Doctor comes after The War Doctor because we don’t actually see John hurt change into Christopher Eccleston. So it is possible

  • @RayTheomo
    @RayTheomoАй бұрын

    There would have to have been some kind of reference or acknowledgement. Ecclestons doctor acts like he just came out of the war. He acts very tough. His reaction to the Daleks coming back. It wouldnt make sense that there wasn an entire doctor hidden between the war doctor and Eccleston. He would have to have been before the 1st doc, completely forgotten as a regeneration.

    @@RayTheomodisagree hard. If u have seen Scream do the Shalka u know the he can’t be before the first doctor as he knows Anthony Ainley’s master in the past tense as a previous master incarnation. Also this doctor is largely unfamiliar with earth but not as if he’s never been there but instead that he hasn’t for a long long time with stuff like using the wrong currency etc and clearly hasn’t saved anyone in a long time. The Shalka doctor kinda acts like a cold veteran coming home from war and not sure how to pick up where he left off anyway. I think the 9th doctor coming after him and actually getting a companion and being the doctor again is kinda perfect tbh.

    The reason his doctor is canon is because this series is all about fantasy, myths, and legends. Anything is possible. So, they've taken the opportunity to really play on that. One of the few great things about the current series

    @@Starsteam1 they said the series was all about fantasy myths and legends, not talking about the genre fantasy specifically. It's that it fits the theme of the universe not being black and white, and that's why the shalka doctor is 'canon'. It's about myths and such thematically, so they were talking about that, not fantasy genres

    It was an alright episode, even though it was very predictable. When the Doctor said dont use battle mode, i knew it'd have an important call back, I never felt Ruby was in any Danger knowing the next 2 episodes are all about her, and that girl with her was also an alien. How does someone into Dungeons and Dragons not know about cosplay? I think the Homoerotic overtone was wayyyy overboard for the Doctor on a first date (soo promiscuous now) I mean it took awhile for his and Rivers romance to blossom, this is Doctor Who, not Torchwood. And I thought the contemporary music (Billie Eilish's Bad Boy in first ballroom scene was wierd) but i did like the call back to Kylie Minogue (Can't get you out of my head) I'll give it a 7/10.
