Not a lolita, but a historical fashion enthusiast who lives in a sweaty sweaty place. 100% cotton or linen is better at keeping you cool than polyester in many cases because it breathes. Those gauzey polyester shirt are the exception. I'd recommend a hoop skirt and cotton overskirt. A cotton skirt and cotton petti combo over the hoop skirt could keep you legs cooler as it would create a better sun barrier than polyester. Those UV parasols actually keep you cooler than the regular ones for the same reason. I wear spandex shorts or cut-off tights to prevent my thighs chaffing. Sweat pads were used in the Victorian era! I've been wanting to make my own detachable ones based on cotton menstrual pads. My favourite new trick is filling a hot water bottle about 2/3 full and squeezing the air out before closing and freezing it (ice expands). Then I wear it on my back in a thin backpack and hug it to my chest when using transit. It usually stays frozen for about 3 hours.

I've always liked enlarging colored contact lenses. I tried out a bunch over a decade ago. I tried some pink GEO lenses and found out if you put those over green eyes the end result is brown 🤣 All of these lenses are made to go over dark brown eyes so the effect is different on blue and brown eyes. Guess there are no pink lenses for me. I tried the green GEO lenses hoping it would look natural and give an enlarging effect but they look super fake and creepy on green eyes. I think the My Melody lenses are adorable.

I also have a pair of circle lenses that have a black rim with a gradient effect (also in black) towards the middle. They made the model look really cute and even a bit doll like. On green eyes they look more like demonic Halloween lenses. That reminds me I still have some old lenses that are most likely past their "safe to use until " date.

i know they make a lot of pastel colors that are easy to show with light colored eyes, so im a little envious cuz it’s hard for light colors to show with dark eyes 😆 I also had some past due date lenses but I ended up tossing them, i don’t want to take a risk with eyes.. i heard some horror stories 😭 be safe…

I thought the print was the same until they brought SB back in 2022. Are there any differences between the print from 2022 and 2023? I have pieces from 2005 (a skirt, a shirred jsk, a bag), 2007 (shirred OPs, head bows) and 2013 (shirred jsks) and afaik those all the same.

in this video, the two on the left are 2024, and the one on the right is from 2022, the biggest difference i know is the leaves are slightly different but that’s about it. really wonder how they compare with the older ones!

@@lacymillefeuille I think every single version of the print is gorgeous. I think one of the reasons for the change is that with modern printing they can do much sharper detail. The old print (2005~2013) looks more blotchy in comparison (like a painting). The print from 2022 onwards has finer lines and different flowers, leaves and ribbons. More like a colored drawing. I wonder why they changed it between 2022 and 2024. The colorways I have, and love, are offwhite, regular pink and sax. Never really liked the black one or the newer ichigo mousse, lavender and red. But to each their own.

Yeah! so I ended up using it a few times after this, and I basically had to carry a separate purse because it was such a hassle to get to the main pocket 😭 It’s very cute though, so I continue using it for now.. 🤔
