  ایُّوب(Job) 29 1 اور ایوب ؔ پھر اپنی مثل لاکر کہنے لگا:۔ 1 Moreover Job continued his parable, and said, 2 کا شکہ میں اَیسا ہوتا جیسا گُذشتہ مہینوں میں یعنی جیسا اُن دِنوں میں جب خدا میری حفاظت کرتا تھا ۔ 2 Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me; 3 جب اُسکا چراغ میرے سر پر روشن رہتا تھا اور میں اندھیرے میں اُسکے نور کے ذریعہ سے چلتا تھا ۔ 3 When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness; 4 جیسا میں اپنی برومندی کے ایاّم میں تھا ۔جب خدا کی خوشنودی میرے ڈیرے پر تھی ۔ 4 As I was in the days of my youth, when the secret of God was upon my tabernacle; 5 جب قادِرمطلق ہنوز میرے ساتھ تھا اور میرے بچے میرے ساتھ تھے ۔ 5 When the Almighty was yet with me, when my children were about me; 6 جب میرے قدم مکھن سے دُھلتے تھے اور چٹان میرے لئے تیل کی ندیاں بہاتی تھی! 6 When I washed my steps with butter, and the rock poured me out rivers of oil; 7 جب میں شہر کے پھاٹک پر جاتا اور اپنے لئے چوک میں بیٹھک تیار کرتا تھا 7 When I went out to the gate through the city, when I prepared my seat in the street! 8 تو جوان مجھے دیکھتے اور چھپ جاتے اور عمر رسید ہ لوگ اُٹھ کھڑے ہوتے تھے ۔ 8 The young men saw me, and hid themselves: and the aged arose, and stood up. 9 امرا بولنا بند کر دیتے اور اپنا ہاتھ اپنے منہ پر رکھ لیتے تھے ۔ 9 The princes refrained talking, and laid their hand on their mouth. 10 رئیسوں کی آواز تھم جاتی اور اُنکی زبان تالُو سے چیک جاتی تھی۔ 10 The nobles held their peace, and their tongue cleaved to the roof of their mouth. 11 کیونکہ کان جب میری سُن لیتا تو مجھے مُبارک کہتا تھا اور آنکھ جب مجھے دیکھ لیتی تو میری گواہی دیتی تھی 11 When the ear heard me, then it blessed me; and when the eye saw me, it gave witness to me: 12 کیونکہ میں غریب کو جب وہ فریاد کرتا چھڑاتا تھا اور یتیم کو بھی جس کا کوئی مددگار نہ تھا ۔ 12 Because I delivered the poor that cried, and the fatherless, and him that had none to help him. 13 ہلاک ہونے والا مجھے دُعا دیتا تھا اور میں بیوہ کے دِل کو اَیسا خوش کرتا تھا کہ وہ گانے لگتی تھی ۔ 13 The blessing of him that was ready to perish came upon me: and I caused the widow's heart to sing for joy. 14 میں نے صداقت کو پہنا اور اُس سے مُلبس ہُوا ۔میرا اِنصاف گویا جُبہّ اور عمامہ تھا۔ 14 I put on righteousness, and it clothed me: my judgment was as a robe and a diadem. 15 میں اندھوں کے لئے آنکھیں تھا اور لنگڑوں کے لئے پاؤں ۔ 15 I was eyes to the blind, and feet was I to the lame. 16 میں مُحتاج کا باپ تھا اور میں اجنبی کے مُعاملہ کی بھی تحقیق کرتا تھا ۔ 16 I was a father to the poor: and the cause which I knew not I searched out. 17 میں ناراست کے جبڑوں کو توڑ ڈالتا اور اُسکے دانتوں سے شکار چھڑالیتا تھا ۔ 17 And I brake the jaws of the wicked, and plucked the spoil out of his teeth. 18 تب میں کہتا تھا کہ میں اپنے آشیانہ میں مروُنگا اور میں اپنے دِنوں کو ریت کی طرح بے شمار کُرونگا۔ 18 Then I said, I shall die in my nest, and I shall multiply my days as the sand. 19 میری جڑیں پانی تک پھیل گئی ہیں اور رات بھرا وس میری شاخوں پر رہتی ہے۔ 19 My root was spread out by the waters, and the dew lay all night upon my branch. 20 میری شوکت مجھ میں تازہ ہے اور میری کمان میرے ہاتھ میں نئی کی جاتی ہے۔ 20 My glory was fresh in me, and my bow was renewed in my hand. 21 لوگ میری طرف کان لگاتے اور منتظر رہتے اور میری مشورت کے لئے خاموش ہوجاتے تھے۔ 21 Unto me men gave ear, and waited, and kept silence at my counsel. 22 میری باتوں کے بعد وہ پھر نہ بولتے تھے اور میری تقریر اُن پر ٹپکتی تھی ۔ 22 After my words they spake not again; and my speech dropped upon them. 23 وہ میرا اَیسا اِنتظار کرتے تھے جیسے پچھلے مینہ کے لئے ۔ 23 And they waited for me as for the rain; and they opened their mouth wide as for the latter rain. 24 جب وہ مایوس ہوتے تھے تو میں اُن پر مسکراتا تھا اور میرے چہرہ کی بشاشت کو اُنہوں نے کبھی نہ بگاڑا ۔ 24 If I laughed on them, they believed it not; and the light of my countenance they cast not down. 25 میں اُنکی راہ کو چُنتا اور سردار کی طرح بیٹھتا اور اَیسے رہتا تھا جیسے فوج میں بادشاہ اور جیسے وہ جو غمزدوں کو تسلی دیتا ہے۔ 25 I chose out their way, and sat chief, and dwelt as a king in the army, as one that comforteth the mourners.

  ایُّوب(Job) 28 1 یقیناچاندی کی کان ہوتی ہے اور سونے کے لئے جگہ ہوتی ہے جہاں تایا جاتا ہے ۔ 1 Surely there is a vein for the silver, and a place for gold where they fine it. 2 لوہا زمین سے نکالا جاتا ہے اور پیتل پتھر میں سے گلایا جاتا ہے ۔ 2 Iron is taken out of the earth, and brass is molten out of the stone. 3 اِنسان تاریکی کی تہ تک پہنچتا ہے اور ظُلمات اور موت کے سایہ کی اِنتہا تک پتھروں کی تلاش کرتا ہے ۔ 3 He setteth an end to darkness, and searcheth out all perfection: the stones of darkness, and the shadow of death. 4 آبادی سے دُور وہ سُرنگ لگاتا ہے۔آنے جانے والوں کے پاؤں سے بے خبر اور لوگوں سے دُور وہ لٹکتے اور جھولتے ہیں ۔ 4 The flood breaketh out from the inhabitant; even the waters forgotten of the foot: they are dried up, they are gone away from men. 5 اور زمین ۔اُس سے خوراک پیدا ہوتی ہے اور اُسکے اندر گویا آگ سے انقلاب ہوتا رہتا ہے۔ 5 As for the earth, out of it cometh bread: and under it is turned up as it were fire. 6 اُسکے پتھروں میں نیلم ہے ۔اور اُس میں سونے کے ذرّے ہیں ۔ 6 The stones of it are the place of sapphires: and it hath dust of gold. 7 اُس راہ کو کوئی شکاری پرندہ نہیں جانتا نہ باز کی آنکھ نے اُسے دیکھا ہے 7 There is a path which no fowl knoweth, and which the vulture's eye hath not seen: 8 نہ متکبر جانور اُس پر چلے ہیں نہ نخوار ببر اُدھر سے گذرا ہے۔ 8 The lion's whelps have not trodden it, nor the fierce lion passed by it. 9 وہ چقماق کی چٹان پر ہاتھ لگاتا ہے ۔وہ پہاڑوں کو جڑ سے اُلٹ دیتا ہے ۔ 9 He putteth forth his hand upon the rock; he overturneth the mountains by the roots. 10 وہ چٹانوں میں سے نالیاں کاٹتا ہے۔ اُسکی آنکھ ہر بیش قیمت چیز کو دیکھ لیتی ہے 10 He cutteth out rivers among the rocks; and his eye seeth every precious thing. 11 وہ ندیوں کو مُسدود کرتا ہے کہ وہ ٹپکتی بھی نہیں اور چھپی چیز کو وہ روشنی میں نکال لاتا ہے۔ 11 He bindeth the floods from overflowing; and the thing that is hid bringeth he forth to light. 12 لیکن حکمت کہاں ملیگی ؟ اورخرد کی جگہ کہاں ہے؟ 12 But where shall wisdom be found? and where is the place of understanding? 13 نہ اِنسان اُسکی قدر جانتا ہے نہ وہ زندوں کی سر زمین میں ملتی ہے ۔ 13 Man knoweth not the price thereof; neither is it found in the land of the living. 14 گہراؤ کہتا ہے وہ مجھ میں نہیں ہے ۔سمندر کہتا ہے وہ میرے پاس نہیں ۔ 14 The depth saith, It is not in me: and the sea saith, It is not with me. 15 نہ وہ سونے کے بدلے مل سکتی ہے نہ چاندی اُسکی قیمت کے لئے تُلیگی ۔ 15 It cannot be gotten for gold, neither shall silver be weighed for the price thereof. 16 نہ اوفیرؔ کا سونا اُسکا مول ہوسکتا ہے اور نہ قیمتی سُلیمانی پتھریا نیلم ۔ 16 It cannot be valued with the gold of Ophir, with the precious onyx, or the sapphire. 17 نہ سونا اور کانچ اُسکی برابری کرسکتے ہیں نہ چوکھے سونے کے زیور اُسکا بدل ٹھہر ینگے ۔ 17 The gold and the crystal cannot equal it: and the exchange of it shall not be for jewels of fine gold. 18 مونگے اور بِلّور کا نام بھی نہیں لیا جائیگا بلکہ حکمت کی قیمت مرجان سے بڑھکر ہے۔ 18 No mention shall be made of coral, or of pearls: for the price of wisdom is above rubies. 19 نہ کوُش کا پکھراج اُسکے برابر ٹھہریگا نہ چوکھا سونا اُسکا مول ہوگا ۔ 19 The topaz of Ethiopia shall not equal it, neither shall it be valued with pure gold. 20 پھر حکمت کہاں سے آتی ہے ؟اور خرد کی جگہ کہاں ہے ؟ 20 Whence then cometh wisdom? and where is the place of understanding? 21 جس حال کہ وہ سب زندوں کی آنکھوں سے چھپی ہے اور ہوا کے پرندوں سے پوشیدہ رکھی گئی ہے۔ 21 Seeing it is hid from the eyes of all living, and kept close from the fowls of the air. 22 ہلاکت اور موت کہتی ہیں ہم نے اپنے کانوں سے اُسکی افواہ تو سُنی ہے۔ 22 Destruction and death say, We have heard the fame thereof with our ears. 23 خدا اُسکی راہ کو جانتا ہے اور اُسکی جگہ سے واقف ہے۔ 23 God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof. 24 کیونکہ وہ زمین کی اِنتہا تک نظر کرتا ہے اور سارے آسمان کے نیچے دیکھتا ہے 24 For he looketh to the ends of the earth, and seeth under the whole heaven; 25 تاکہ وہ ہوا کا وزن ٹھہرائے بلکہ وہ پانی کو پیمانہ سے ناپتا ہے ۔ 25 To make the weight for the winds; and he weigheth the waters by measure. 26 جب اُس نے بارش کے لئے قانون اور رعد کی برق کے لئے راستہ ٹھہرایا 26 When he made a decree for the rain, and a way for the lightning of the thunder: 27 تب ہی اُس نے اُسے دیکھا اور اُسکا بیان کیا ۔اُس نے اُسے قائم کیا بلکہ اُسے ڈھونڈ نکالا 27 Then did he see it, and declare it; he prepared it, yea, and searched it out. 28 ا ور اُس نے اِنسان سے کہا دیکھ خداوند کا خوف ہی حکمت ہے اور بدی سے دُور رہنا خرد ہے۔ 28 And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
