    Finally got mine last week. Love everything on it except the c shape neck feels way thicker than it should be, feels more like D shape, wish it was like my PRS thin. Other than that everything feels premium. No way to get this spec from another company at the price.

    GFS has a lot of awesome pickups for the price... But the Red Actives are not among them. I have 9 pair on different guitars (all passive) and there are some real gems.

    There’s so many capable GFS sets out there, and Kwikplug makes it super easy to swap it a set just isn’t fitting the bill. I have at least two other sets around here myself. Super affordable too - might be worth getting some more sets and putting some stuff together… 🤔

    I have been watching the reviews on various guitars and it appears to be a game of chance buying on line instead of a shop. People have found faults on gibsons and fenders as well. The buzz on those type of pickups was an issue on other reviews. They all make some noise if the are played straight through an amp, but some are far too loud. One of my Harley's buzzes when I touch the bridge, but everything else is fine, and one of them failed when I used the three way and I had to solder a wire back on. The guitars I bought from a shop had no problems apart from a stiff machine head on an ovation. So far only one guitar I have bought had no issues at all. That was a tangle wood.

    I've just found your channel while searching for a review of this guitar. It's now € 138 here in Europe and it did feel like a sweet deal, confirmed now by your analysis of it. Thanks! P.S do you have a cat?

    Hello everyone, I would really like to know what kind of frets come with the R446. I heard that the "medium jumbo"s HB uses are rather small indeed and by no way similar to a normal jumbo you would find , say, on a Jackson. Please a definive answer from a owner....thanks a lot!

    It's due to a lack of available time to finish that I haven't uploaded. I work two jobs, morning-to-midnight 6-7 days a week, so most of my waking hours are taken up with that. Some things had to get put on the back burner as a result, and unfortunately regular uploads on my channels is one of them. I still do have things in the works - several reviews are still in the back pocket, including some requests from viewers. Just have to spare the time with myself to actually get them done... I've been putting them off for too long.

    I have the JA version of this guitar. It's like they came from two different facilities. People were having neck, setup, and electric issues. Luckily I only had minor fret issues. Easily fixed.

  • @thebensonator
    @thebensonatorАй бұрын

    It was fascinating to see the difference in QC - and even seeing it first-hand considering I owned both. Hard to go wrong either way. It's a shame the JA-20 had the issues it did, especially for how good it feels as a budget guitar. Haven't tried one of the more recent ones, so I can only hope they were made aware and have addressed them.

    @@thebensonator yeah. This is the first guitar I've owned with active pickups. I've got two more now. I like the highs they have, and I can push it pretty hard and they sound good going through my Boss amp.

    The only thing it misses if anything is a "neck through body" for me. But that is just personal preference. But the closest guitar in price that has everything this guitar has and with a neck through body is some of the Kramer guitars and they are like 300 dollars more expensive. After that Solar guitars, with Floyd 1000 they start at 1100$ which is double the price of this Harley Benton I have never heard of that Tesla pickup brand before, but the "single" coil neck pickup sounds great.

    Would you recommend swaping the strings? When it came from the factory it couldnt stay in tune at all , is it the bad strings or tuners ?

  • @thebensonator
    @thebensonator5 ай бұрын

    Changing the strings and getting a proper setup are going to be #1, for sure, especially if you're de-tuning. It would also help to lubricate the nut so you're not encountering any string slippage there. The tuners are up to choice - I'd replace them myself again if I bought a new one (mainly because I'm picky about hardware like that) but if they feel smooth enough they don't have to be a high priority.

    Yeah, the nuts are hit-and-miss with lower cost Bentons. Had some that worked great, others that wouldn't cut it at all. Fortunately they're pretty easy to address with some elbow grease, so it's not a deal breaker for seasoned players. Glad to hear you're impressed by it despite that!
