Hello Friends,
since 2017 i am interested in Trekking and Bushcraft. Actually everything was given to me by my parents as i was a child. Back then it was called Hiking and Wildcamping. So i just explored an old passion.
My channel should show the breakouts from the everyday life and the respect for our nature. Besides that i want to improve my knowledge about survival skillls.
This channel is dedicated to my father who died in 2016.
He made in the early eighties the GR 20 (Corsica) with my mother and me. But there was one dangerous part of the trail in the north he left out because of us. And we knew that trekking the whole trail was his dream. His responsibility for us was too strong. So i will hike the whole trail for my father.

Nein. War irgendwie zu faul zum filmen.
Would be cool if you showed us how you set these up….
Gorgeous work my friend, landscape scenery is just fantastic!
Grazie. Elba is perfect for a little breakout from our everyday life. My soul was so grateful for this beautiful nature.
Very dry. Awesome views. Thanks
I have forgotten to mention the nice italian people on the trail. A hiking community of young people. Thank you for your comment.
Great video!
And it only needs one tree! Cool setup. Thank you.
Hi. Zu welcher Jahreszeit bist du damals gelaufen?
Anfang / Mitte Juni . Perfekt, weil Temperaturen noch erträglich.
@@andreasmulleroutdoor2452 danke.
Thanks for showing this. I think I will try out this set up. This is a good one, which can also be done with a rectangular tarp (which is what I have, a 3x4), and since I am a woman of only average height, I will use the longer side to give my tent length, and a height of roughly 1.5m for the tent is plenty.
It is not the cave, it is a Holden tent. The cave : stake the first and third quarters on the back, raise the pole, stale the middle of the sides, then stake the front points. Using guy lines may increase room and airflow, but reduce wind cover. Nice video otherwise:)
Thank you for your work. 🙏
Stabile Leistung. Hut ab! Klasse Video mit schönen Bildern. Beste Grüße Marco & Racoon
Hey ihr zwei, ich danke euch 🙏. Beste Grüße zurück ins schöne Thüringen 🍀
would this work with a 3x3m tarp and would it be roomy enough for a pack and a 6ft person?
On trekking tours I use a 3x3 m tarp as my standard for this setup, because of the weight . I am 180 cm tall and it works perfect inclusive pack. But you will sometimes touch the walls with your sleeping bag. So you better choose a synthetic sleeping bag or you protect your goose material with a bivy.
Und nästes Jahr wieder? LG Jürgen 🤠
Mit besserer Blasenvorbeugung (Tape, Latschen, usw. ) eine Überlegung wert 😂
Fantastic scenery man, nicely filmed and put together! 👏👏
Thank you ☺️. The last 20 kilometre i was not able to think clear. In my head was only : not to give up. It is unbeliveable that there are still resources if you really want something. Have a nice day. 🍀
Maybe you should comment on the video in your native language or work on your English language skills. Nevertheless, interesting insight into what you do. Many blessings
Hello Pavel, you are right. The choice of the language is difficult for me. More than 90 % of my subscribers are coming from North america and the UK. The reason are some videos about building tarp setups with an unespected explosion of viewers and likes. Sure - to bring a better content i should bring my english to a higher level. Thank you for your true words an your compliment.
Your English is fine.
@@andymytys ☺️. I just have to get into flow. Perhabs i should plan a trip to the UK this year. Or the next year an outdoor adventure in Canada. I wish you a nice day ☀️
Don’t discount the US, especially for outdoor adventures. Your English is more American sounding anyway.
@@andymytys Of course - it is also a dream to be in the USA 🇺🇸 👍. Maybe a classic thing like the appalachian trail.
Super durchgezogen! Sehr Stark.
🙏
Stramme Leistung. Respekt und Glückwunsch. 👍
Vielen Dank 👍
Dankeschön 😉
Thanks so much. Vielen Dank. I will definitely try this out.
😉😘 LG
It seems like it is possible to make a similar shelter with a rectangular tarp as well. Did you try that?
No I didn‘t try it with a rectangular tarp. I just worked with a 3 by 3 m or 3,5 by 3,5 m square tarp. I think your question is worthfull to try it next weekend. But I believe it will not work with a 3 by 2 m tarp ( not enough room ) and a 4 by 3 m tarp would be to too big. Perfect square tarp is the 3 m tarp for this setup.
@@andreasmulleroutdoor2452 I tried to show the shape in this video, what do you think? kzread.infoT0djhP1Iwy0
@@andreasmulleroutdoor2452 The ground area will be a triangle with length equal to the longest side of the tarp and the depth equal to half of that, so ground area will be half of that of the tarp total. The height will be half of the shortest side. So a 4 by 3 will have height 1.5 and 6 square meters floor!
Nice setup.
🙏
I think i will try this set up with my two young boys, looks like plenty of room
Using a 3,5 m square tarp will give you enough room. A 3 m tarp is tricky 😉
Funnily enough, I came up with this design by myself only to find a couple videos including this where others have come up with it too! It is surprising that it is not more well known and apparently does not have a name. The only disadvantage I can see in this tarp is that the closure alogn the length may allow bugs or even rain to get in. It's the persian flaw of an otherwise pretty incredible design. It is also great that the slumping bit is also the exact centre, which is where the only non-side loop is located on my tarp.
This setup is nearly a bunker. I never had problems with rain or bugs. From my point of view there is just one thing to note: you better use a synthetic sleeping bag, because you will touch the walls (especially 3 by 3 m setup). In rain with a goose down sleeping bag you will have no fun.
@@andreasmulleroutdoor2452 Ah, that is tremendously good to know. I do have a down sleeping bag so perhaps I will use a bivy bag to cover it. Cheers
Cheers 🍻
If you stake the "tree corner" of the floor slightly away from the camera, the front wall can be staked down slightly outside the floor (requires extra stake). Then add an extra stake at the center of the front wall, also a few inches outside the floor. Now any water which drips off the front wall will not run down onto the floor.
@@tomscott1159 Perfect 👌
Can I make it stable with a trekking pole instead of the tree?
Yes it works. Even with just one rope. If you take two ropes you get a bunker 😎.
Biste dabei ? 😊 LG Andreas
I really like it! Thanks for sharing!
🙏
Dackelgarage! 😆
😉
I love this and that you showed indenting the bottom of the doors. Great, simple, effective video.
So simple and basic, w/ full enclosure. Nice. Thanks.
Enjoy your new shelter 😉
Thank u so much! I’m currently just chilling in my garden with this setup 😂
Happy Easter 🍀🐰😉
I really like this setup, thank you for teaching me!
No problem 😉
Some of my favorite places, we had a holiday flat and still visit Altenberg/Schellerhau and I ride the MTB race in Seiffen. Hope to do some of the Kammweg next Winter, this year the snow was gone too quick 😢
Yes it‘s the climate change. But the probability of snow is much higher in the Erzgebirge than in other areas and the tree population is in a good condition. I hope you can realize your plan in the next winter. As an alternative think about the Großer Arber/Bayerischer Wald. Snow should be assured the whole winter. Today they have 138 centimeter.
@@andreasmulleroutdoor2452 I’m watching your Bayerischer Wald video now 😂 thanks 🙏
☺️😅

@@andreasmulleroutdoor2452 watching now, I bought some TSL snow shoes as well but still haven’t used them. Do you have a komoot route for the Großer Arber hike?
Love this. Simple and effective. Thank you!
🙏
Excellent video, thank you 👍👍👍
🙏😁
Very interesting. Compliments.
😊🙏
I'm sorry, but had me so worried. You sound like you're dying and I know it's just where you placed the microphone
Yes it sounds terrible. But i will learn 😄
Brilliant configuration, thanks for sharing.
🙏
Any one see the pack size
nice setup
🙏🌲😉
Great video. +1. What head height did you get on the cave setup? Looks like just over 1 meter.
🙏 . Sorry - i did not measured the head height. Could be between 110 and 120 centimeter.
Where did you get your stakes and cordage?
Brilliantly simple set up. Thanks for sharing this. I'll be using it next time I'm out. All the best
You will like it. Enjoy 🌲🍀😉
How about in the rain ?
Dry - no problems.
Hos long would you say the indoor bottom lenght is with closed doors?
I think more than 2 meter. You have a little bit playroom with the doors how to stake it.
@@andreasmulleroutdoor2452 thank you, I am 1.99 m and figure a 3x3 tarp is to small in many configurations.
@@svanteuller7928 I think the only way for you is a 4 by 4 tarp. Have a nice sunday 😃.
Hey new subscriber here great video my friend😊
Thanks a lot. I do what i can ☺️💪
Thank you for the great camping 🏕️ knowledge!!👍🏼🤩
