I was there, near the top of the stretch. The crowd was noisy and enthusiastic like in the classic days of racing. People applauded as she was walked backed after the hosing-down.
Not to take anything away from rachel, but that was one sad grade 1 field. Rachel was only 3 and her 3 grade 1 wins at the time were more than the rest of the field combined.
This has become common wisdom, but I disagree with it. A number of these horses came in in good form and off of fast workouts, winning races like the Stephen Foster and The Alysheba. It was hardly a vintage Wooodward as far as the talent of the field, but Past The Point, just to name horse, almost beat Curlin.
that's because Curlin was dominating! wtf are you talking about? Macho Again just dropped a 110 Beyer in this race, like were you even watching?
She's a monster, my hat's off to her!!
My man a stone cold killer. None of those horses were ever the same after looking her in the eye after that race. And unfortunately she wasn’t the same either. She left her heart on that track that day.
@@christianburk2432 Agreed she sealed hoy with that win
@@35blackmagic1 absolutely. And I know zenyatta was great but there was no way she catches Rachel at a mile and 1/8th that year. Z was managed carefully and didn’t have the resume that year to be HOY. Yes I know she won the breeders cup classic but Rachel beat the boys 3x thst year and set multiple track records. Sorry I went off on a tangent.

Gun Culture.
She is a nice looking filly. Very nice mover. There is only one Rachel, but Samantha looks like a runner as well! Go Baby Go!
Oh my gosh! What a coincidence! I was going to name my Breyer of RA Jesse! Whoa!
This. Is beautiful. *-*
He says ' raises the rafters here at the SPA' because the crowd was so loud it literally shook the building of this old, historic track ! True story !!
is there any video that has the crowd noise that you know of ?
I was at this race and this was the loudest I have ever heard a Saratoga racing crowd .... and I have been going since the '80s ... what a race !!!
Oh my, Ms. Mom is full of useless information, always telling others what she knows and how good she is but has no videos of her doing anything, just a lot of talk. She is harassing me via email since I blocked her so I wanted to see what she was about, it seems all she can do is run around comment on others videos. What a surprise. If anyone knows her I would love to get her name, thanks.
Good conformation.
This must be her first foal right? If I'm remembering correctly she only got to spend a day with her second foal before she was transfered to a nurse mare. Bernardini produces nice looking foals but they're huge! Anyone know if she will ever be bred again for a third time?
