Wow, the dissonance between the images of the bombs dropping and the playful jubilant music - it makes me think of the excitement felt by those paratroopers just before they jumped out literally into the fire. I think the music really captures some of the uncertainty they felt along with the thrill of flying.

The footage is from "Things to Come" The British film starring Raymond Massey and Ralph Richardson based on H.G. Wells' Futuristic Novel produced around 1936. The works of Sidney Torch project the same "Technocracy" feel to them.

Wow, you actually worked for Musicraft? What years? I've been writing a book about bandleader and singer Will Osborne for years now. In 1944 by discographical ledgers, it's been shown that the Will Osborne Orchestra recorded 4 sides for Musicraft on a March 30th session, but none of these ever got released. Would you happen to know if these recordings could possibly still exist?
@SammysRecords2 ай бұрын

@SammysRecords thank you. Make sure that the spelling is "Osborne", as that can throw people off for when searching, as there were a handful of people with the same last name but different spelling that recorded in those days. Believe it or not in the 40s there was even a completely unrelated Ozzy Osbourne to the one we know today's world!
