    How long did the shrine exist for? And when and why was it lost?

  • @user-rh9cp2mx2z
    @user-rh9cp2mx2z Жыл бұрын

    theres no accurate record of when it was built but (historians suspect) it is mentioned in both Kojiki and Nihon-Shoki so we should assume it's at least that old (7th century CE). It was never lost though it has been reconstructed and moved various times in its history. At the risk of sounding sarcastic, the wikipedia article is actually very good in this regard.

    What is Izumo? According to Japanese mythology, Man god, who was Exiled from god, got rid of Yamata-no-Orochi when he went down to Izumo (with his son Iso-takeru in Nihon Shoki), and Kushinada-hime. He gave birth to Yashimajinumi-no Kami = Yashimajinumi-no Kami with Goddess. God who made Japan, the fifth-generation grandson, pioneered Izumo Province with the small name Sukuna bi konakami and the big lord god. Susa Shrine, which is listed as Susa Shrine in "Fudoki of Izumo Province", was erected, and Izumo Taisha Shrine, whose deity is Okuninushi, was also erected. The influence of Izumo Province before this decree was found in various parts of Japanese mythology, and since most of the myths of Japanese creation are stories of Izumo and its surroundings, there is a view that its spiritual influence was enormous. It is mainstream. However, it eventually fell to the Yamato kingdom, and it was given to the famous Kuniyuzuri myth (the gods who manage the world living in heaven = Amaterasu "give Japan" and the gods of the lower world = Okuninushi no Mikoto the Japanese archipelago. It is thought that it was written in "Nihon Shoki" as a myth. The Izumo Taisha Shrine, which was built as a condition for the transfer of the country, is still worshiped from all over the country. Furthermore, Izumo Province (Mr. Kitajima, Mr. Senke), who holds the ritual of Izumo Taisha, is equivalent to the imperial family as the grandchildren of Amehono-Hinomikoto, the second child of Amaterasu Omikami. Boasting the length of the pedigree, the name "Kuni-no-Miyatsu" is also the official title used in the ancient decree, so the length of its history can be read. In July 崇神天皇60 (BC38), Emperor Sujin had "Takehiratorino-mikoto (Kojiki)) (Ame-no-hohi no Ko) from heaven. The sacred treasure that came in is stored in Izumo Taisha, so I want to see it. " I presented Izumo's sacred treasure to my brother Izumo no Furune without permission. Izumo no Furune murders Iiiri, but is murdered by the Imperial Court. Source from "Nihon Shoki" After that, it was established in the 7th century based on the area of Izumo Province under the Ritsuryo system. Fujiwara Palace Ruins (was the residence of the emperor, the ancient capital) at the end of the 7th century In the 5th year of Saimei (659) in "Nihon Shoki", "Otomo-gun" can be seen, but the editor's color shows that Ou-gun was already placed as the predecessor of Ou-gun at this time. .. During the Heian period, the Izumo Kunizukuri family, whose eastern Izumo (Ou-gun) was confiscated by the imperial court, will be centered on the western Izumo, where the current Izumo Taisha Shrine is located.

    According to my Izumo Shinto teacher, along with the Gobi Desert, Izumo is one of the two regions where the first Modern Humans came into existence around 50,000 years ago as the result of long term evolution. The gods are grown-up human spirits and are at least 10,000 years old. The gods gather in the place where they were born as humans so Izumo is called a region of the gods. The number of the gods is more than 8 millions and peoples throughout the world used to have practices of ancestor worship because they knew who the gods were.
