you made this make sense thank you !!
Do you have the bass number tab to this song?
i dont understand the number notations on top
Who blurred the notation ??
I just checked the video and the notation isn't blurred at 720p. Please check the video quality settings and make sure you're not viewing at 166p or 360p. At 720p the notation should be clearly legible. I hope that helps. Thanks!
Thanks - I was able to use it this past weekend - the video degradation must have been caused by poor connection speeds - and it the settings as you suggest - thanks for these video I enjoy your time that you share making these videos - Rock On the Solid Rock !!!
Hey man, nice work! Thanks!!!
Wow bro! I love your heart and soul you put into that. We are doing this song this Sunday and you just helped me big time! God bless you a 100 fold
I really appreciate the visual representation of the beat.
Glad it was helpful! Thanks!
I just sped up the youtube playback speed - and you nailed it!
Haha. Yes! If only it was that easy! 😂
Is there a video on deliberate practice?
Thank you sir ❤
Thank you. Very helpful
Good video but holding the last 16th note for the duration of the measure is driving me nuts.
great video. using this to practice but the little pop up bubble noise every 10 seconds is so annoying. please get rid of them. or at least make it without the sound
Thank you for the feedback. Others have said the same, so I stopped adding the noises to my videos. Unfortunately, I don't have a way to remove them from videos already published. I hope it was helpful regardless!
ya had me at Kravitz and quinoa, brother
Freaking cool lesson. Second of your videos I've watched, and it earned a subscribe. Was just watching this time, but I'll definitely be rewatching and playing along. I've only been playing 6 months, but immediately grasped the value of this exercise.
Thank you for the kind words! Good to hear it was helpful to you.
Boy: i'll change tuner pedal to avoid click. Man: i'll add elephant size volume pedal and will use it like nothing but on/off button. Dude, different tuner or! If you like TU2 so much, small a/b switch, like 5 time smaller than this volume...
Haha. That's fair. I fully acknowledge there could be some improvement here. Thanks for your comment!
I’m with you here on not being able to play it full speed and I’ve been working on it for over a year. I’m in a band with some friends and we’re covering it so I really need to practice it now. I’m currently 13 and have been playing for 2 1/2 years and think that it is so fun. Keep up the good work
One word to describe this lesson is…Excellent!!!
Thank you for the kind words!
Nice bass! Great song to play to. Our praise team is learning this song. 👊🤠
Love the way you explain... its soo simple n informative... God bless Keep on bringing in
Wish we heard some picking samples. Good otherwise
Good idea! I rarely play with a pick, so it didn't even occur to me. I'll keep this in mind for future vids. Thanks for the comments!
CALI 76 TONEHAMMER MICROSYNTH NOBLE DI
It's a little beyond my ability right now but it's bookmarked for later.
do playback speed of 75%, or 50%. Maybe you'll get it better.
Nice thanks man!
Hey Bo, Have you ever looked into the DSM Humboldt Bass Station?
Subscribed, Liked, Shared.🇺🇸🎯💯🎯🇺🇸
Thanks so much!
@@BoBoswell Some times the bassist will play the full arpeggios of the rhythm guitar. I think Sing by Travis is an example of that. And some times the bassist will lock in note for note with the lead guitar melody. I think Side by Travis is an example of that.
This is pretty good. I think Bass players would get more out of the NNS if you would show them, how it works with Chord changes. For instance a chord progression of 1 6- 4 5. Which is where the NNS really shines. How it is used to back up the band while the Guitar plays Chords and the Bass is following along playing notes in that chord. And how the NNS can help Transcribe the thousands and thousands of 3 & 4 and more chord songs. Thanks.
Repetition = muscle memory.also, I learnt the notes on the fretboard first, than the number system after. That wasn't a conscious decision. I hadn't heard of the number system. Now that I do, I think I did it the right way. AND, learn the whole note / half note patterns for scales. Ie. WWHWWWH, etc. And the circle of fifths as that corresponds to the fretboard, ie E string, say first fret F then Bb then Eb then Ab. Follows the circle of 5ths anti clockwise. Same with every fret going up in pitch. So the last fret on 20 fret bass will be C F Bb Eb .. everything repeats.
Yeah, good stuff, man! Thanks for the comment!
Thanks legend, good info. Number system good for worship bass.
Thanks bro. It's a brilliant system
Stealing your board 👀
Bro looks like Jason Schwartzman.
Love how this song turns into grunge at the end, the bass sounds very similar to Black Hole Sun's last chorus.
💯
Thank you so much. Very straigh ahead. Please make the lesson about right hand shape !!!
Far out... Who thought out this number system, was this always in place ? Thanks...
i cant wrap my head around how thom plays this while singing, great job man, nice video
I agree. It's hard enough to play without having to sing! Thanks for the comment!
Thanks for the tab man! I've been obsessed with this song since it came out. This is like the tenth time I've played along to this video, and definitely not the last. Keep up the great work! you have earned my subscription.
Awesome! I'm glad it's been helpful. The whole album is great, but there's something special about this song.
How to get that tone? Using any bass comp? Sounds really good!!
Thanks for the kind words! I use a compressor, EQ, and Bass Amp Designer in Logic. I show how I usually set it up in this video: kzread.info/dash/bejne/X2hqq6aToryYkco.htmlsi=QzYAD7QQrskb6R2e&t=106
Thank you for this. This is what I am looking for exactly. Just a suggestion if you can make a video of this but with play in. its the same topic but you can visually see when to pluck on the beat aside from counting. Thank you once again.
Great idea! Thanks for the recommendation!
Origin effects Cali 76 bass compressor!
❤❤❤
i love this
Are you covering Raise a hallelujah or showing ur cooking,,?
Haha. This is an older video when I was experimenting around with different formats. I soon learned that more people were wanting to see the bass cover and not the other silly ideas I was throwing in. Who knew?!? 😄
Bo this is simply fantastic, thank you very much! Please make more videos like this. :)
Thanks for the comment! I hope it was helpful. I’m working on more!
I really like your right hand technique (more on the positioning towards the neck and tone)
Great job Bo keep it up dude I just covered Dark Matter on my channel Check it out if you want Tell me what you think kzread.info/dash/bejne/mYWml9B_Y9u_j5s.htmlsi=Wfa8jYhBJx330hi-
Good evening to you only
please please more smile, you should do skrting on the surface!!
Love The Smile, so plan to do more. Thanks for the suggestion!
How do you like using a Jazz Bass for P&W? I can’t decide between that or a Precision Bass!
I really enjoy the Jazz Bass, primarily for the neck and fretboard. My hands aren't that big, so the Jazz fretboard is more comfortable for me to play than a P-Bass. Never had any issues with it.
Very useful, thank you 🙏
Glad to hear it helped! Thanks for commenting!
