✨Khim Musical instrument 🎶“The Butterfly Khim is an elongated dulcimer, approximately 80.5 cm long and 34 cm wide, with curved sides resembling butterfly wings. It has two sound boxes at the front and seven bridges, which gives it its name. The traditional Butterfly Khim uses brass strings for a soft, distinctly Thai sound and has brass tuning pegs embedded along the sides. It includes a cover that is placed down first before positioning the dulcimer on top. This instrument's elegant design and unique shape highlight Thai craftsmanship, making it visually appealing and culturally significant.” 🎶”The Trapezoidal Khim is shaped like a trapezoid and is longer than the Butterfly Khim, measuring about 100 cm in length and 34 cm in width. It has been developed to produce a clearer, more resonant, and melodious sound, using durable silver-colored stainless steel strings. While the standard trapezoidal Khim has 7 bridges, it can also have 9, 11, or 14 bridges based on player preference. With sound boxes on both sides of the body, this Khim can play various music genres, including Thai, Western, and contemporary music, due to its versatile and clear, resonant sound.” ✨เรื่อง ประเภทของขิม (ขิมผีเสื้อ) มีความยาวประมาณ 80.5 เซนติเมตร และกว้าง 34 เซนติเมตร ด้านข้างมีลักษณะโค้งคล้ายปีกผีเสื้อ มีกล่องเสียงสองกล่องที่ด้านหน้า และมีหย่องทั้งหมดเจ็ดหย่อง ซึ่งเป็นที่มาของชื่อ "ขิมผีเสื้อ 7 หย่อง" ขิมผีเสื้อแบบดั้งเดิมใช้สายทองเหลือง ทำให้เสียงนุ่มและเป็นเอกลักษณ์แบบไทยๆ มีหมุดทองเหลืองฝังอยู่ด้านข้างของตัวขิม และมีฝาปิดที่ต้องวางลงก่อน แล้วจึงวางขิมบนฝา การออกแบบที่สวยงามและรูปร่างที่เป็นเอกลักษณ์ของขิมนี้สะท้อนถึงงานฝีมือไทย ทำให้เครื่องดนตรีนี้น่าชมและมีความสำคัญทางวัฒนธรรม (ขิมคางหมู) มีรูปทรงเป็นสี่เหลี่ยมคางหมูและยาวกว่าขิมผีเสื้อ โดยมีความยาวประมาณ 100 เซนติเมตร และกว้าง 34 เซนติเมตร ขิมประเภทนี้ได้รับการพัฒนาให้มีเสียงที่ใส กังวาล และไพเราะมากขึ้น โดยใช้สายสแตนเลสสีเงินที่มีความทนทานและขาดยากขึ้น ขิมคางหมูมาตรฐานมี 7 หย่อง แต่สามารถเพิ่มจำนวนหย่องเป็น 9, 11, หรือ 14 ตามความต้องการของผู้เล่น ขิมชนิดนี้มีกล่องเสียงอยู่ทั้งสองข้างของลำตัว ทำให้สามารถเล่นเพลงได้หลากหลายประเภท เช่น เพลงไทย เพลงสากล และเพลงร่วมสมัย เนื่องจากเสียงที่ใสกังวาลทำให้สามารถปรับใช้กับสำเนียงเพลงต่างๆ ได้อย่างหลากหลาย
