    What caulking did you use on the roof?

  • @beetharvestman

    I apologize for taking so long to answer your question. I used Dicor 501 LSW-1 self leveling lap sealant to seal the seams in the roof.

    Great question, I plan on insulating the floor prior to heading to the Best Harvest. The only reason I haven't attempted to complete the floor is due to finances. Just curious why u would glue the side insulation foam?

  • @beetharvestman
    @beetharvestman2 ай бұрын

    Only a small piece of foam was glued on the sides most was cut to fit between the ribs and is held in place by the ribs. Had to cut in half a one inch piece to fit where I placed wood for the lights. Hopefully that makes sense.

    Great video. I just got a quote to paint my trailer and it was $8000 plus. He said the price of automotive paint is through the roof. Looking for an alternative and I think I found it. Thanks again.

  • @beetharvestman
    @beetharvestman2 ай бұрын

    I'm super happy our video helped you out, I think it is wild they wanted 8,000 to paint your trailer. Your trailer will come out looking almost as good as if it were sprayed and doesn't take that long and can be done for a fraction of the price. Please feel free to share our video with others as we are attempting to build our subscriber base.

    Looks real good... just starting to work on my new 6x14 cargo trailer. Are the walls covered with barn wood or barn wood plywood? Where can I buy it? Thanks

  • @beetharvestman

    It is paneling that looks like barn wood and is light weight. I purchased it at Lowe's but Home Depot has light weight paneling as well that looks very similar.

    I have an enclosed car hauler trailer I think it is 16' long. The front of it has white plastic I guess to make it Aerodynamic. Will that paint also bond to the plastic? Also is it possible to use a bigger roller? Thank you for your help and time and the great video!!

  • @beetharvestman
    @beetharvestman5 ай бұрын

    I don't believe the Krylon Farm Implement paint will adhere to plastic. When rolling on the paint you really need to use the shorter roller to get the best finish. While rolling it in you have to press with additional pressure that you normally don't do when rolling paint on a surface. I attempted to use the larger roller at first but I wasn't able to get an even coat due to the amount of pressure I had to use while rolling it on. For the best finish you really need to use the shorter roller. Once the paint was dry it was almost as good as if it were sprayed. I hope that helps and please feel free to share our content with others who are looking for an affordable way to paint their trailer

    Thank you for your response! Sorry but I have another question I thought of. You mixed up a gallon of paint and added hardened. If you don’t use the whole gallon and put the lid back on the paint can you use it later if you don’t get the whole trailer painted in the same day?

  • @beetharvestman
    @beetharvestman5 ай бұрын

    It is my understanding that once you put the acrylic hardnner in it will last for only 24 hours. If you don't intend to paint the entire trailer in one day I would buy 4 one quart containers with lids and empty the gallon into the four 1 quart containers and add hardnner recommend for one quart of paint. Make sure you use the Krylon acrylic hardnner with the Krylon paint. In addition, do "NOT" purchase the paint off of Amazon as you can't be sure as to what type of paint you are getting. Purchase locally from a reputable company, I went through O'Reilly's Automotive.

In the video you will notice that we glued wood to the upper portion where the awning is attached and that the metal blocks are attached to the wood so that they wouldn't touch the aluminum siding. • @beetharvestman

    Great question, if your using Styrofoam as I did then a vapier barrier isn't really needed especially if you use the Styrofoam that has the foil on one side. Place the foil facing the skin of the trailer. The Styrofoam portion will be facing inside your trailer.

    Nice Job.... I am in the process of converting an 8x16 v-nose cargo trailer into an RV and Mobile Sign Shop. I am just starting the walls and cabinet construction. I just sold a 15-passenger shuttle bus that I lived in for 3 years and traveled out west during the winters. I had to sell the shuttle bus because I purchased a large format color printer to make contour cut decals/stickers, koozies, t-shirts, magnetics, banners, mousepads, etc. The large format color printer would have taken up a lot of storage space so I needed to get something bigger. I did a complete conversion series on the shuttle bus from the ground up and now am doing a new series on the cargo trailer conversion. They are on my YT channel.
