    There are so many people in this world who are hurt and hurting. In their humanity, their hurt turns to anger and then they act out that anger. If we respond by clapping back and being offended by their actions, this often times spurs on the behavior (in my humble opinion). I know and love quite a few LGBTQ folks...including my own child. My experience has been that being unloved, unaccepted, etc. has left deep scars on the hearts and souls of many of these folks. One of the reasons some of these beautiful souls are my friends is because I've chosen to just love them where they are. No judgment, no criticism, just love. This changes so much for the individual. We don't have to speak on their "choices" or lifestyle, etc. But I believe we do have to show them the love of Christ at every opportunity. If we don't represent Him as best we can at all times, who knows how many souls we have robbed of a chance to know Him through us. My two cents worth. I'm so grateful for perspectives like Brant's and how they remind me to be open, honest AND loving. <3

    I just got done listening to you and Sheri acting goofy. But realistically, this thing with the Last Supper was brought on by the Christians as a mockery. It is about Greek Mythology and Olympus in honor of the Olympics. How distorted people have become, I pray every day and my prayers God takes them and places them where they need to be. We are on this earth to honor and praise God, and many are falling short of this including the Christians. I know many will get down with me for saying what I am saying, and it is okay for i will pray for you and be happy. as you gloat in your glory and as you walk to the gate and find out your cup is empty, that is where you will cry. It is too late to change. Blessings to all.

    While I appreciate everything you said, I don't think the situation is so much that Christians feel "offended." I may be reading it wrong, but the Christians I talk to are more upset that something so sexually inappropriate was shown on a program watched by the whole family. I think the “World” would like to make it about Christians feeling offended. But it is more about, “no, that was objectively wrong to expose kids to that kind of garbage.” Still, what you say about praying for our enemies is spot on.

    1:35 The reaction to the early church to the insults of Pagans wasn't only to pray for them but to write works like "Against Celcius" to respond to not only the argument but the world view it comes from. We aren't supposed to just be reactive or passive, we react with action and progress.

    Love this response. Here is my take. Why do we expected the lost to act like biblical people. They are not followers. They seek their own desires, sinful or otherwise. I am not surprised, it's the world. Can we as followers "Shine the Light" versus "curse the darkness". Respond with love, pray, serve them, like Jesus.

    I think there's room for sorrow when something like this happens, and joy at the same time. This faith is a great paradox and I think it's one of them. If we're persecuted, we can shed tears, yet count it all joy. I'm trying to process childhood trauma right now and I don't think it's wrong to be sad about it and not think it should've happened. But, God can bring and is bringing good out of it.

    I remember being at a Promise Keepers event many decades ago. When all us Christian guys came out of the stadium for lunch break there were lots of weird protestors out front confronting us and yelling garbage. I watched as a group of guys walked over to some punked out lesbian protestors. They were quietly talking to them. Next thing you know they were praying with one of them to receive Christ while her fellow protestors watched in disgust. It was beautiful. No shouting match, just love. Jesus love.

    This is all great advice, except for one thing - when I pray for somebody who's lost in sin, I DON'T pray they'll be fulfilled and at peace. I notice that people are most likely to seek God when they feel some sort of need. So in the interest of salvation, I pray they'll be aware of the emptiness in their life, that they'll feel some desperate need, sometimes I even pray for calamity if that's what it takes to bring them to the point of surrender.

    Exactly! Turn the other cheek. Love them and by loving them we heap hot coals upon their heads. They mocked Jesus and he smiled and continued to love them. If they don't change their ways God will have his vengence in the end. And also, by them going this, it can get people to actually maybe look into the Bible to see why it may be offensive to Christian's and MAYBE if they open the bible it could work on them. Who knows? I've seen "Christian's" continue to throw the persecution word around, and we here in the west are NOT being persecuted no matter what the Christian KZreadrs are saying. Persecution is happening in countries like Iran, India, China, and a few others, where they imprison Christian's and even kill them. That is NOT happening in the west. Jesus told us we would be mocked and he told us how to respond but most "Christian's" do not want to live how Jesus taught

    I love Brant's take on this. I have thought that when Saul of Tarsus was agreeing to the stoning of Stephen (Acts 7) and when he was running around persecuting christians, the believers were probably praying for him. That's what Jesus-followers are supposed to do. Thus, Saul became the great apostle Paul. He became the most outstanding missionary that ever lived.

    Galatians 6:7-8 King James Version (KJV) Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. 🙏🏼 For those that saw the perversion, (not to mention the young child that was a part of the skit), I wonder what that did to their minds?

    You don’t need to bless anyone. Blessing someone is, definitionally, sanctimonious. Even better is to listen and learn. They are sharing this world with us - they are no better nor worse in God’s eyes.

    If it makes it easier, I took it as "be a blessing" rather than "bless someone." The way I may be a blessing may be restricted to prayer, but I believe in the power of prayer.

  • @lovescarguitar
    @lovescarguitar5 күн бұрын

    The Bible does say that if we bless those that curse us, it will be like heaping hot coals on their heads. In other words, people cursing is with the likely intent to get a rise out of us and get us upset, offended, insulted, mad, etc. You should respond with blessing them instead. This will not only hit them with something they did not want or expect, but it could very well cause them to re-think what they're doing and turn their life around toward God. If it doesn't turn them around, then at the very least, if you want to call it that, you just took a step toward growing and becoming more like your Father in Heaven.

  • @michaelwinter742

    @@lovescarguitar Do you think the Bible is talking about word choice with that passage? Or behavior choice? Do you think Jesus and the Father did everything they’ve done so we would whisper in their ears? Or so that we would challenge ourselves to be like Jesus and have our blessings be real actions that really help and really require sacrifice?

  • @michaelwinter742
    @michaelwinter7424 күн бұрын

    @@ray-of-sonshine How does Jesus restrict his love to merely prayer? Jesus is about action. Even in forgiveness, he doesn’t forgive quietly. He goes out, forgives, and then protects that person with love.

    Here is something that I learned about praying for God to bless someone that I'm at odds with. I'm not asking God to make them happy and prosperous where they're at, rejecting Him and hurting others. The place of greatest blessing for anyone is right in the center of God's will. So as I'm praying for God to bless that person, I'm asking that He would move them to understand and agree with Him for how to be in the center of His will. And this prayer will spark in me forgiveness and love for them.And I trust that as God blesses them, they will no longer be an enemy, but rather a saved brother or sister in the family of God.

    I live in Tasmania, Australia and am a senior woman. I can see that I may be very much on the spectrum and have often wondered. So Matthew's story has really impacted me. Also, when The Chosen first came out, a woman, the wife of our Christmas choir director, (an American Australian man and very gifted) told me and others in the choir about The Chosen a few years ago. I went home and found out how to sign up for and start receiving Season 1. At that time, viewers did donate so others could watch and we also received what others had given. I did donate too. It really impacted my life. Just recently, I was in a really difficult place and called out to God for help. I believe God responded by showing me The Chosen app and I have been deeply embedded in The Chosen since and following Jesus again. Thank you so from the bottom of my heart.
