Can't wait to go fishing with you guys!!!!🎉❤
Ready for our trip next week
Are the cameras out again with the fishing boats
If Will is catching these large Red Snapper in depths way inside of 30 fathoms, that is amazing! We never had that when I was young. I suspect Will was fishing much deeper for those ARS...... Some humor--- I thought "Catch and Release" meant that you would catch the fish and then release it into the fish box..... LOL! Keep up the great work! -- John L.
Always a great time with great caps and staff !!!!!!!
always a great time for sure on the water, hope to see ya soon!
Way to go, captain. Will a really enjoy it when you're on thirty nine hour trips
thanks for the kind words and support, hope to see you again soon!
Great video keep 'em coming
will do my friend, thanks for watching
Can't wait till its my turn
ready when you are my friend, hope you are having a good morning! Thanks for your help yesterday
@@HubbardsMarina your VERY welcome! It's coming, VERY soon! I need some deepwater therapy
Very interesting! Back in the old days when I was young, The Elbow was known (exclusively) for Mutton Snapper. We never got them anywhere else on the 12-hour high-speed party boat trips that ran daily nearly 55 years ago. That elevated limestone ridge, The Elbow, is where the Muttons congregated for some reason along with solitary huge Carborita and Cubera Snapper. I do remember Mangrove Snapper also but there were no Red Snapper on The Elbow itself many decades ago. When they started to run the 2-day trips (which left the dock at midnight), we had to run out to the 40-fathom line before we got into any significant Red Snapper. Those were offshore commercial fishing areas that we knew about and they were lucrative!..... Dylan, I will talk to my sister in Seminole this afternoon about your Final Friday and I hope she and her family can make it. She told me last week that she wants to attend a Final Friday. She loves John's Pass. Sorry so lengthy! -- John L.
Looking forward to my upcoming trip!!!
looking forward to you joining us for some 'reel' fishing fun!
Going Friday for me and my little brother birthday party trip 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Tight lines! My next 39hr trip is September 1st on my birthday.
thats awesome, see you tomorrow and happy early birthday!!
thats great timing, with gag opening too!
Good luck have fun
Nice catch. Interesting observations on the fishing. What Will does finding the fish is hard work. That full moon Friday night and into Saturday might account for how the Red Snapper fishing was--- "Where time has ceased and life holds feast...". QUESTION: How do Yellowtail Snapper compare in taste to Mangrove Snapper? My sister LOVES Mangrove Snapper better than Red Snapper but she has never had Yellowtail Snapper and neither did I when I lived down there. -- John L.
yellowtail taste great, super mild and flavorful... I love mangrove, much more than red snapper, and yellowtail is up there too
I like the way you kind of changed your dad's old saying. I remember him saying it a little different than the way you say it 😂😂😂
That would be his grandfather, Capt. Wilson Hubbard. I knew him personally decades ago when I was young. He was a wonderful person, larger-than-life and a LEGEND. He would say, 'If you're too busy to go fishing, you're just too busy!"
my grandfather was one of a kind, try and live up to the memory everyday!
Good job captain will l hope to catch big red snapper this Friday 26th 🎣
you should have a great chance for them, fishing has been HOTTTT
Like these videos nice bunch of fish from houston texas
niceee, thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed
Love it I cant wait to get back out with you guys!!!!!!!!
looking forward to fishing with you again soon, thanks for the comment and support
I'll be on the 12 hour extreme on the 21st can't wait to catch some big red snapper and big grouper
I've been on both, the 39 hr blew the 12 hr away.
see ya soon, looking forward to fishing with you!!
the 39 hour is hard to compare, so much fishing time and flexibility... plus, the AC in the cabin is nice to relax occasionally, the hot food, cold drinks, etc... the extreme is great though if you don't have the time for the 39 hour or 44 hour
Hey from NW Florida!!
hey, thanks for tuning in! Hope to see ya tonight
wait did he say we have another month and half to go for red snapper? though July 31 was the last day for the season
no, the fed for hire season is june 1st - august 27th so if your charter fishing or party boat fishing thats the season in the gulf for red snapper.... if your on a private boat, like your own, or a buddy's boat where no money exchanges hands thats the private rec season which is june & july then weekends in sept, oct and nov
This Red Snapper catch is amazing! Stellar! These are exactly the size of the Red Snapper I remember that we caught out in 63 fathoms 53 years ago when the captain overslept and we encountered a "pod" of fish on the paper machine with great bottom and it looked too good to turn around and go back in to where we had intended to fish that morning. So, we stopped and fished that spot (pod) until the anchor broke loose from the bottom because it had gotten so rough. We couldn't get back on it because of the seas so we went back to fish "closer in". If Will fished up to the north on this trip I am happy to see that the ARS stocks have replenished to what there is now as a result of all the mandated conservation. That Red Snapper fishing up to the northwest is good the further north and the deeper you go. Keep up the great work! -- John L.
fishing was good on this one even better sunday - tuesday and tuesday - thursday
Wholly crap! After the lull this past week it's very nice to see a stellar haul
amen to that, was good to see a push of fish
@@HubbardsMarina now it's my turn to get some fish
Can you recap again for me? Catch anything, what are they biting on?
we have some great fishing going on, what fish are you interested in? We did another one today, tallked about what baits work well too
@HubbardsMarina I'm moving to Florida from Missouri. We're into fish that fight hard and taste good. My girlfriend loves snapper
How are the 10 hour trips and what are they producing now?
the ten hours are a great way to get going offshore, its still a near shore kinda mid range trip... not getting super deep, but twice as far for twice as long compared to the fun for the whole family beginner trip we call the 5 hour half day! We fish around 15-25 miles in around 60-100ft of water, and we target the lanes, mangroves, and lots of heads and tails this time of year. Smaller fish for the most part, but great eating and you can see a bunch of them if you focus and really dial em in.
Nice catch! I do not know Will but Bob H. told me so much about him in the past when Will was First Mate. He's a world-class captain for sure! Sounds like he was fishing "down" in areas we fished over 50 years ago on the 2-day trips. Will said in the video he was fishing a little deeper, but down that way we fished depths of over 40+ fathoms to get on the quality fish. Another area that Will might explore if he hasn't already would be the "Little Elbow" to the south. It shows up as a small "nub" along the 30 fathom line on the old-fashioned nautical paper chart I still have but we made the mistake back then of focusing on the area around the nub "only". Big mistake! It was all sand bottom and we caught just five Red Grouper there..... :( The Little Elbow lucrative bottom actually begins out beyond 30 fathoms around 40 fathoms or so and we didn't know that at the time. Doing a trip to that Little Elbow deep water would be a gamble and might not be within the range of a 39-hour trip. Enough of my rambling. Happy to share my old notes with you guys! BTW, my sister says she's interested in coming down to your Final Friday at the end of this month. I really promoted it when we spoke. She was down at the Friendly Fisherman Restaurant with her family two weeks ago. She had Dolphin fish (Mahi Mahi) and love it! -- John L.
great to hear she enjoyed her meal with us! Thanks for the comment and continued support!
Great job will 🎣🎣
thank you for watching, appreciate the kind words
Nice catch.
thanks for watching, we appreciate your comment and support
Nice haul! Way to stay at em
grinding away, still lots of season to go
@@HubbardsMarina oh yes! I'm looking forward to it
Bro saltwater grouper fishing time and month Name tell me 😊 pls Reply me
we get lots of good opportunity, what grouper do you want to target?
I was on the June 23rd, 39 hour trip, however I can't find any video
we are combining alot of the footage, I know we did one recently with the first half of june footage... I think they were working on the second half of june's footage now, but you can see all the footage from the go pro on our site if you'd like to download your own footage!
Love it great job !!!!!
thanks for the kind words my friend, appreciate you!
Red grouper is close Dylan
yes, they closed at the end of june until the start of 2025
Nice yellowtails!
seeing some big boys lately, hoping for and more!
@@HubbardsMarina I've seen some really big ones on some of my recent trips with you guys
Very nice. Thanks.
Thank you for watching, hope you are ready for some 'reel' fishing!
@@HubbardsMarina I'm always ready for fishing!
Can we bring our own bait on these trips? Yall have pins and frozen squid, what about green backs? Going on a trip soon
yes you can, however, keeping greenbacks alive is extremely challenging...
we provide threadfins and squid, and you can get pinfish and / or shrimp here at the dock for live bait
@@HubbardsMarina got you, awesome! I'm looking forward to going!
Haven't seen Capt. Garrett in a while. I hope he's okay. -- John L.
garett is doing well ironically he was fishing on this very trip with his two boys, he's been doing trips but not the 39 hours
Quick question when is gag grouper season opening
Regarding Gag Grouper, it was always fun to catch a really big one, but when it comes to a delicious fried grouper sandwich, an 8 to 12 pound Gag makes for the best filet for a tasty grouper sandwich. -- John L.
amen, the smaller ones are even better eating
What Will was saying about rogue fish and the large Red Snapper, I believe I experienced the likes of that back 55+ years ago when The Elbow was virgin fishing territory only visited occasionally by commercial (bandit) boats. On a 12-hour high-speed deep water all-day party boat trip fishing The Elbow, on one spot I caught a 29-pound Mutton Snapper. No other large ones were caught. About 3 months later, we were fishing the same area on The Elbow and I caught another Mutton Snapper also weighing exactly 29-pounds. Again, no others were caught on the boat. At the time and looking back, both fish would have been all-tackle world records but it didn't cross our minds back in those days because we were selling our fish and making good money. I have photos of both of those huge Mutton Snapper packed away in an old photo album. -- John L.
alot of times there's one big dog, the alpha ruling the roost... most of the time if he does bite he is able to break folks off
@@HubbardsMarina I was a teenager at the time I caught those two Mutton Snapper on two different trips. Me and everyone else were rigged up for grouper and I was using heavy tackle with a large hook with a combo of a whole squid and Herring and was able to horse those Muttons up off of the bottom. Heavy tackle with 80-pound test line with 150-pound leader did the job. -- John L.
Great job !!!!!
thank you, we are doing well offshore and near shore! Great time to get out there
Going in August, coming from NJ...I'm excited!!!
looking forward to fishing with you, see you soon!!
Coming next month from Dallas, can't wait !!
See you soon, thanks for choosing Hubbard's Marina!
Good job captain well 🎣🎣
Glad you enjoyed it, hope you have a great day
Idk why people gotta be like that the Hubbard crew are awesome and honestly some of the biggest snook in that pass hang around there why not create friends might let you fish there
we do let people fish there during the day, only at night is it no trespassing... frustrating for sure
John big gag Martin 👍👋
lol yessir, big ole grouper!
Is this new? I haven't seen John Martin on a video in a long time, i was afraid something was wrong with him. Glad he's ok.
this is from mid june, he's still fishing hard
Great job!!!!!!
thanks for the kind words, appreciate your comment and support
The braid hate on this boat is crazy. Tell these old timers get some braid on and feel 100% more bites. I hope I get on it soon🍻
It’s about the tangles, mono is so much easier to untangle
I agree, I am also quick to cut and retie tho
You can use braid but I have about 50 yards of mono on top, makes it easier to deal with tangles.
you can use braid, just have to use a top shot... personally I fish both, but more and more I tend to like mono... if you have nice tackle the mono nowadays gives you the same sensitivity and you don't need the top shot then, and you won't loose so many fish on the way up with them spitting the hook due to lack of stretch in the braid.
thats the way it has to be, and thats when braid isn't really an issue
Good job guys 🎣
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching
love it !!!!
appreciate you, thank you!
Thanks for the update, Dylan!
hope you enjoyed, thanks for watching
This was an awesome trip! Got to know some of the other supporters, ate a wonderful potluck and had a great day on the water! There's a reason Hubbards Marina is the best in the country! Thanks for everything Captain Dylan and his awesome crew!🎣 Tight lines!
