  For childhood nostalgia (Lego BMan 2), the 89 score is my favourite. But in terms of musical composition and actually being a film score TDK trilogy absolutely takes it for me.

  so why isnt this era more universally beloved? like the showa is all over the place and heisei is a lil same-y after gvkg until gvd. like sure, vs megaguirus aint the best but wat i consider the next worst, tokyo sos, has dat neat end fight, ties in with the original mothra in a cute way and wraps up the original goji’s arc from gxmg kinda great.

  I think in recent years, the era is definitely seeing a lot more love. I tend to see more posts praising Millennium than the other eras now, but if I had to guess as to why it seems like there's more love for the other eras: 1.) Millennium is the shortest era. It only lasted five years, as opposed to Showa's 21 and Heisei's 11 year runs. Showa and Heisei had more time to influence pop culture and really cement themselves in people's minds, whereas Millennium didn't get that same luxury. 2.) The quality of the 6 Millennium movies are a little all over the place for the fans. Against Mechagodzilla and GMK are beloved, 2000 and Tokyo SOS are seen as middle of the road, Megaguirus tends to be disliked, and Final Wars really depends on the person. While the other eras also vary in quality, because they have more movies, there's more stuff to like/dislike. 3.) The Millennium era didn't do too well at the box office, with GMK and Against Mechagodzilla as the 2 big exceptions. That could be why it's not pushed as hard in marketing as some of the other eras, making more people less familiar with it when compared to the other two.

  @@bennettjohnson574 It's been a couple of years since I last watched them, but I remember loving the era. It was nice to see the franchise experiment again after staying pretty consistent through the Heisei era. Heisei and Millennium are what got me into the franchise as a kid, so I tend to have a huge soft spot for these movies. GMK and Against Mechagodzilla are some of my favorites, Final Wars is goofy fun I can't help but love, and while the other 3 might not be high on my list, they all have interesting ideas and designs for me to appreciate.

  It used the Shirley Walker motif found throughout The Animated Series and Mask of the Phantasm (which are included), so I didn't feel the need to include that specific variation, especially when it's considered as another season of The Animated Series.

  Definitely an improvement over the first one! Maybe you could try the Heisei and Millennium era too, for Millennium FW felt a little too short
